For any Pats fans here at DSP...my neighbor, Matt Stankiewitch (PSU center), signed a FA deal with the Pats on draft night. I was at the draft party and had a great time. His family is top notch. I guess ill be following the Pats closely this summer. We ended draft night by watching the movie Predator - a classic.

Sorry to see Brian Urlacher retire, but it was time for him to step away from football. I'm glad he wasn't going to gut out a mediocre season on another team. He was one of the greatest Bears players ever and so much fun to watch over the years.

Couldn't happen to a better organization.

My question is how will all the bible thumpers come to grips with rooting for the devils team?

No worries. This is just my team lobbing a big "FU" a few hundred miles down the road towards sexy Rexy and the Jets. They'll fill Tebow full of sodium pentothal for a few months, get all the Jets info they need and then cut him in August. More Belichick genius.

The problem with that scenario is assuming anyone involved with the Jets organization has a clue in what they are doing, much less a plan. :)

Or assuming Tebow knew the Jets system.

Word is that when he was in Denver, he had to have his hand held before going in every possession.

Which is not hard to believe given how poor his completion percentage and yardage figures were when he "led" the Broncos to the playoffs.

Patriots signed Tim Tebow. When asked how he’ll adjust to being booed by Jets fans, Tebow said, “What do you mean ‘adjust to’?

Yup, was going to post that info when it was first announced but figured it would be plastered on every website. A phenomenal talent gone to waste. Now the Patriots are looking to get back their guaranteed money and the salary cap hit he caused them. I hope the NFL sides with them on the salary cap issue. It wasn't their fault he's gone to the pokey to go from a tight end to a wide receiver.

They should have had suspicions. This isn't his first incident involving criminality.

I disagree. He wasn't a free agent and was in there system for 2 years when they gave him new money. The guy had problems in college they knew what they were getting.

Beat me to it. If failing a drug test due to weed is a precursor to murder then this country need to build prisons by the thousands.

I did live in N. Attleboro for 15 years and I will say, his "crowd" definitely exuded street thug and not a guy trying to go the "Patriot Way" (media term, not mine).

I hate how the entire Internet has gone Peter King over this. THAT'S WHY HIS DRAFT STOCK FELL! His past was no shadier than a lot of NFL players who never wind up in a murder investigation. The Pats clearly felt he was clean enough to offer a truckload of money in that contract.

Now being investigated in a double murder and smoking weed isn't what I was referring too. Did he not have ties to a gang or am I confusing him with someone else? I could be off base but I seem to recall his name coming up with that type of connection.

Any problems these athletes get into nowadays doesn't surprise me.

$40 mil and all that comes with it thrown away because the guy had the need to be a thug. I heard where he grew up was middle class too.

As Brando said, this isn't something new for NFL prospects. So what if he knows bangers...I bet 75% of the NFL is associated w/ some gangsters of some sort, that's just a facet of where they grow up.
