I just saw that score before the US game started... ..6-1 loss and at home.
No, they played at La Paz but a historic loss that will question Maradona's tactic against the Bolivians. I mentioned before that the road to the WC was not as easy for either Argentina or Brazil in South America. Both countries have struggled mightily.
They played down the opponent to say the least with a 3-4-3 formation, every long ball was a nightmare for the D-men and if it wasn't for J.P Carrizo the score could have been worse.
They missed J.P Riquelme who quit the team, still too many good players to turn around their fortunes. But Maradona will have several sleepless nights for sure. J. Botero was just unstoppable.
Honduras isn't a bad side, and they were playing at home, but Mexico should no heart, no creativity, and no pride in wearing the shirt.
No doubt Sven is gone now, he won't survive this.
Javier Aguirre I believe is waiting in the wings.

Mmmm...Bolivia.....mmmmm....white powder.....mmmm....Maradona......has 'previous' for throwing games
Maybe someone should check his cases, the fat cheating smackhead f**k.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."
He better hope that they don't play Italy in Italy soon - the tax authorities there are after him for €43m in tax that he didn't pay while he was playing for Napoli and frolicking with the Camorra.
It's now also clear that Shearer's appointment as the latest Geordie Messiah is not an April Fool's prank.

Looks like FSC is going to put Champions League matches on FX and their Fox Net channels next season. They will also be showing the early qualifying rounds too.
Interesting matches are usually March onwards...the rest is crap.

third qualifying round is usually pretty good to watch. I know they are changing the format next season to something I can't understand, but I enjoyed watching Liverpool being taken to Extra Time and Fenerbache and Partizan was a nice one too.

As one who knows how to get to Burnley from this part of the world, I can't make my mind up over whether that's a simple reference to the division they'll be in next year or a searing observation on the intelligence of a typical Newcastle fan.
He's just been paid millions of dollars for a year in the sun, dossing about watching a few games and not giving a crap - you think that HE's not loving it ?
Bear in mind also that he got a big pay off from City, was only out of a job for a very short time, and didn't leave under a cloud, so he'll get a job in the Premiership, Spain or Italy, no worries.

Mmmm, spawny last minute goals....looks like Rafa is up to Chapter 2 of Fergie's 'How to Win the Title' manual.
Chapter 3 deals with time dilation effects....when the referee finds 6 minutes of injury time when MU are not ahead at Old Trafford. Sometimes known by the vulgar as 'Fergie Added Time' - it's like British Summer Time, only it lasts longer.

Martin O'Neill illustrates once again why he should never be let anywhere near managing a top 4 team - takes off Milner, brings on Reo Coker, puts Carew on the right hand side. What a no-mark idiot.

Well done United, still hoping you bottle it...
Milner's boner in the first half was a disaster, giving ManU a lifeline when they were being played off the pitch. You can take the dumbass out of Newcastle, but you can't take the Magpie out of the dumbass....

Milner was exhausted, and he made a howler in the first half. Taking him off for Reo-coker is not why Villa lost.

It's a well-beaten expired horse, but the real mistake he's made is with the size of his squad and, dare I say, his failure to rotate. OTOH, for a team with modest revenue, it seems a valid strategy to try to save some by trading depth for quality. But it seems to be failing.

O'Neill has actually spent quite a lot of money on that team, but his poor decision making remains (exhibit A - paying £8m for Reo-Coker, who is utter garbage). He pissed off the fans by effectively chucking their UEFA tie, and yet in reality is no nearer to cracking the big 4 than before.

I think this is exactly the case. A bigger squad might even with lesser talent might have had more in the tank.
