Microsoft has a new tactic to cut down on used game sales or playing your games on friend's systems. Don't ship completed games:

“So when you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in,” he explained. “And when you log in you’re going to get the Drivatars and you’re also going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars. Our production schedule is such that we are putting them in as late as possible and that means making them free as downloadable content on Day One.

That's really stretching don't you think. Most of these companies were well into development when MS changed their policies. Plus a one time log in for a game in which every feature revolves around online play is not a big deal.

Yep. Although not confirmed until recently, this has been speculated for quite awhile. Another reason I chose to go PS4 over XBONE at launch. I've got a fairly expensive TB XP500 that will be rendered useless on the MS's new platform.

I am completely shocked!

I heard a rumor that they will actually put out a controller ( with analog triggers) that you can actually play racing games kinda like a sim?!?!?!? and it maybe as soon as for the ps 7?

The PS4 RAM "advantage" is not that big after all.

"PlayStation 4 reserves 3.5GB of its 8GB GDDR5 memory for the operating system, leaving 4.5GB of space for game code, according to current PlayStation 4 documentation shown to Digital Foundry.

A new source familiar with the matter has provided additional information to Digital Foundry that confirms only 4.5GB of the PS4's 8GB GDDR5 memory pool is guaranteed to game developers right now... In real terms, an additional 512MB of physical RAM may be available in addition to the 4.5GB mentioned in the SDK."

It's not and not only that but from what i've read all of the games on the XONE especially Forza 5 are running at 60FPS or at least that's what MS is targeting with full effects ON in native 1080P whereas I think Killzone 4 is running at 30FPS.

Console war over tech specs was never important to anyone besides fanboys. First, developers target the weaker of the systems it is targeting, often making games on the slower platform perform better. Second, the actual differences between the 360 and PS3, and the XB1 and PS4 are actually small enough that any chest thumping was silly.

Seriously, people should just buy the console that has the games you want, or at least the games you want and your friends reside, if you want to play with them. And honestly, that's why I'm sticking with a 360 for six months to a year after the next gen launches. It's already got NCAA 14, and it will have NHL 14 and Batman: Arkham Origins. A game could come that could get me to jump quicker, so far, neither system makes me want to give up my 360 yet. the odds of my keeping two consoles under my TV are slim and none.

Add GTA, F1 2013 and Dark Souls II to that NHL 14, B:AO mix and I am still at least over a year away from either of those money sucks.

I'm sticking with a 360 for six months to a year after the next gen launches. It's already got NCAA 14, and it will have NHL 14 and Batman: Arkham Origins.

GTA V, Splinter Cell added to the mix, and I have awoken from my bandwagoning spell. I just cancelled my preorder for the XB1. Not for any fanboyish silliness, but just because there's so many good things coming down the pipe on the one I have right now. No need to confuse and confound things come November. Besides, graphics notwithstanding, BF4 will be on the 360 as well, and all I need is to know that it will likely be at least as good as BF3 has been.

Yeah, I'm my old self again, and will wait for at least a year or so before fooling with the next system.

Splinter Cell in August and GTA V in September should be my last two new game purchases for the 360.

Since we've switched over from fanboyism to patting ourselves on the back, I'll just remind you crazy kids that I was one of the first to post that there were games coming out on only current gen that I was very much looking forward to (NCAA, NHL, NBA2K, GTA) and I was in no hurry for PS4/XOne. For the record, I said there may be a game that gets me to jump sooner. But there are several games that won't be on the next gen consoles that I want to play, and the new stuff has not got me to ready to spend $400 yet.

And my timeline is 6 months to a year, because I won't be surprised if a game comes next spring that gets me to jump.

It's funny...I pre-ordered both systems, just waiting to see how it all shakes out. I was PS4 all the way at first because my one and only requirement was being able to sell games to any one and any retailer, thus they must be on a physical disk. Gamefly rentals is important as well but not necessary. Now that they both offer that, I'm pretty much in the Xbox One camp until February when MLB The Show comes out and then I'll get the PS4. that's looking like my most obvious upgrade path. No sense in getting both systems and launch.

My only question is if you can use the One without the Kinect. My office (where I do 95% of my gaming) is narrow, so I'm only sitting about ten feet from my TV and using anything that requires motion in the office is a non-starter. Just not going to happen.
