Thankfully my complaints are still 100% valid. Typing on the iPhone is still terrible (too small) and of course Cingular's (At&t's) network was complete sh*t and it literally came crashing down as soon as the iPhone was released.
Someone bidded $10.000 for an unlocked golden 5s over eBay . While this nutcase is unique, the going price is around $4.000 for such an unlocked 5s iphone. Crazy!
Got my 5S today (bought it online thru the Apple Store) and it is as advertised. Very snappy, great camera, etc. Touch ID is pretty cool. I'll have to wait and see on the battery. The battery in my 5 sucked balls. I went with the silver/white one this time. I've had all black ones so far. Got the leather case with it. So far so good. I'm hoping for a bigger screen in the next version.

It was a damn miracle they went up to 4" in the 5 last year, so good luck getting bigger than 4" going forward. Apple seems to think that it's the sweat spot, so all indications are that they won't. I also don't think they'll go the way of Samsung and make multiple screen sizes (mini, mega, s4, note, etc.). It's just not Apple-like.
But then again, ugly software interfaces weren't Apple-like either, but they went and proved me wrong there w/ iOS7.

Wouldn't surprise me either...but a man can dream. I actually like iOS7's look.
Apple iDevices have not had a good week. Besides what's already known about iOS 7. Some iPhone users believed a hoax that said iOS 7 would make their iPhone's waterproof.
The fingerprint scanner has already been fooled and now Apple Maps caused some dumbasses to drive onto an Alaskan airport runway.

I wish I had "bad weeks" like this;
Apple shrugged off its critics, and analysts who said the high-end smartphone market was saturated, by announcing it has sold nine million iPhones in just three days.
The company's share price jumped more than 5% to $492 in response, adding $4bn to its value in minutes - though it remains well below its all-year high of $543 from January.
The figures are nearly double the record figure of five million in 2012, when it introduced the iPhone 5.
Just played with my buddies iPhone 5s...it's quite fast. Tho it is pretty hilarious that when you close out some apps, the entire screen keeps shifting. Don't look hard for it, it'll annoy the hell out of you when you do finally notice it! You've been warned. No idea how iOS7 made it out of beta like that.

The screen is supposed to shift. It's silly but it's just a visual effect. It does it whenever you are on the home screen. At least I think that's what you are referring to.

Nope, it's a bug. It's like a stuttering, very slow shift up. Moves the icons like 3-4mm on the screen.

OK, still not sure if we're talking about the same thing. On both my ipad and iphone if i tilt the device it appears as if the icons are floating over the background. They only move a small amount. It changes based on how I tilt the device. It's using the gyrometer and it looks very intentional, not buggy at all.

We are talking about something different. If the phone is flat on my desk, I exit out of an app (usually the email settings menu as I was troubleshooting a corporate account), and I can see the icons all shifting up slowing and stuttering. Now it's certainly possible that the gyroscope that's supposed to animate those icons in the way you're describing is faulty, but I've read about that issue elsewhere as well so I know it's not an isolated issue. Trust me, it is NOT on purpose (at least the way it's reacting).

Not seeing that here on my iPhone 5.....getting the 5s tomorrow when I return from Bogota, Colombia. I'll chime in further if I see on the new one....
Well, one day in and I really like the 5S. The most obvious upgrade to me is the camera. It is noticeably better. The filters are long overdue. Slow motion is pretty cool...as is the burst mode. Slow mo will come in handy with my baseball team. I'll be able to film my hitters and pitchers and be able to point things out more easily. Touch ID is pretty cool. I love the ability to just use my finger print to buy apps instead of my Apple ID and password. As DB mentioned the updated processor is quick. Nice upgrade. iOS 7 is nice. Some of the updates I like are pretty simple. Air Drop, which other phones have been able to do for a while, is still a nice convenience. I 'beamed' a picture I took at a soccer game last night to my buddy (our trainer) who was just down the track. Worked like a charm. Junk mail in the mail app is finally reality. Love iRadio. Control center is very nice. One swipe and I have numerous options. Very convenient. Overall, I'm really enjoying the experience.
iWatch (or maybe iTime) patent disclosed. Just read this. I'm a sucker for new stuff so this thing has my attention. The patent is summarized pretty well in the article. A couple of interesting things. 1. The face may be 'detatchable' from the wrist band (which has numerous sensors itself) as a media player. 2. Unlike other wearables, there is a possibility it could be used independent of other devices (ie. iPhone, iPad, etc.) . 3. Obviously there will be a touch screen but evidently gestures are a big part of the design. A quick shake to answer a call, a quick double shake to ignore a call. The concept definite interests me.
Well, tomorrow Apple is set to announce the iPhone 6. As usual, I am geeked. I'll be getting the 4.7 inch version. I already sold my 5s for $300. I am very intrigued by the 'iWatch' announcement. Some think the wearable wave is stupid but I'm excited for it. Not much info leaked on it, which is unlike Apple. Supposedly the iWatch is going to be very health/fitness oriented. That is why I'll consider one if I'm impressed enough. I'll be watching tomorrow at 1pm est.

Right there with you. I'm not one to stand in line for the new stuff, but I'm excited to hear the news tomorrow...
