$190 Best Buy discount?
Do tell.
My wife has gotten in to the habit of using my retina mini over her retina Ipad 3.
Drives me crazy.
$15 in rewards certificates
$75 off on the 32GB iPad Air this week
$100 Gift Card they never charged me for. I would have called them and told them about it but they straight up lied to me twice over the phone after they cancelled an order I made which a $100GC was part of the deal so I essentially got a free $100 GC.
If you're gonna get a device, 32gb is the absolute minimum. I'd be perfectly happy with my iPad Air if work hadn't bought a bunch of 16gb versions. What the hell were they thinking? So yeah, I got an At&t Mini Retina 64gb...about ten minutes ago. LOL...wanna be able to at least bring SOME music with me.
So now I'm stacked with tablets again. OG Mini (the wife's), iPad Air, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD (for the toddler) & now the Mini Retina. Eeesh. Might as well sell the Nexus 7 now...as it essentially duplicates the Retina Mini.
I agree that 32GB is the bare minimum although the 128GB for $799 is the best bang for the buck if someone needs that space. I forgot what it cost Apple from a 16GB to 32 maybe $10 but it's not much and they charge an extra $100.

Not in apps that have a set DPI. On the browser, sure...you can even make the text bigger by default and it will scale it up, but when you use apps, you're locked into the developer's specs.
If anyone's interested in a Nexus 7 for cheap, send me a pm.
It's in perfect condition and works great. Just not using it
now that I got a Windows 8 laptop.
I guess i've been lucky with Amazon as it's never happened to me. The difference with Amazon at least is that they'll ship you out a new one usually with an apology and maybe some credit for a later purchase. I called and asked and Newegg has you take pictures of everything then they treat it on a case by case basis and sometimes they make you foot the shipping bill.

Absolutely. I purchased a pair of $300 V-MODA M100s (a set I'm very familiar with as I'm part of a V-MODA focus group) as a gift for my brother via Amazon. They arrived missing the ribbon that signifies a new headphone from V-MODA...and having opened 3 other pairs of them in the past I knew it was supposed to be there. Called em up and complained and they offered to send me another pair, or refund me a portion of the price. I went back and forth with them for a while and they ended up giving me $100 back so it was worth the hassle.
On top of that, since I'm in with the V-MODA guys, they sent me a brand new pair and had me send the ones I got from Amazon back to them to see if they might be fake. So all in all, a good transaction, but that's the second time in the last few weeks I've gotten used sh*t from them.

Similar situation but with a 3rd party seller fulfilled by Amazon. It was a Wii U bundle and one of the pack in games had some damage to the case and there were no seals on the box but it looked untouched and new. They offered a full refund or partial credit. I took the credit and they gave me $100 off so the Wii U bundle cost me $150. I later found out that the white Wii U bundles don't have any seals on the box. Oops
Quick question which I don't think needs a new thread. My Dad has a free choice via his work's catalog of the iPad Mini (non-retina) or the Google Nexus 7 (first generation I believe). Which one is the overall better tablet? I initially told them go with the iPad Mini, but with it not being retina, and my Dad's eyes not what they used to be, doesn't the Nexus 7 have an overall better display? Plus, I've heard many remark how great the Nexus 7 is. Do I need to worry about the lack of support or updates with either? He's not going to put pictures or music on it. It's more or less for just browsing purposes.
Browsing purposes...iPad Mini without a doubt. The Nexus is too narrow to comfortably browse web pages IMO...yes, the screen is higher res (tho with the original N7, not by much) but that doesn't make it better per se. If you were talking the 2013 N7, then I'd say go that way vs the OG iPad Mini, but that's not the comparison.
To recap:
Retina Mini > Nexus 7 (2013) > OG Mini > Nexus 7 (2012)
I just purchased an Asus Memo pad hd7, my second android tablet(the $20 azpen 727 being my first), I'm an Apple guy but i'm finding I really like the Android system. I found apps that I can legally download bittorrents as well as emulators which can be found on google play store.
With so many different tab makers, how do you know when to update your OS? I was reading that I should have received a notification to update after I turned it on, but have seen no such thing. Then I'm not sure how to do an update? Sorry for the ?'s but I'm used to Apple doing this for me, so for you experienced droid guys, a little help will be appreciated. TIA
I don't know if this info can be trusted but it's info nonetheless. It looks like based on the article below that Google is bringing out one new Nexus tablet an 8.9" tablet.
Google Nexus 8 Confirmed for Q4 2014 Release Date: 4 Things to Know
You guys think it's worth fixing the broken screen on my HP 9.7" Touchpad for $65?
The tablet itself works fine, but I held off on fixing it because everyone wanted > $100, but I found this guy that
will do it for $65. I also have a Google Nexus 7" tablet, but don't use it much because it's too small for most web
browsing. It makes a good reader though.
!st off nothing has been confirmed other than Nexus Silver. That pic is from the 1st gen N7. The rumors are saying if Google does release another tablet it maybe their last and it will be expensive, in the range of the iPad's. The only thing I like about the rumor is that supposedly it's a 2K 4:3 format display.

If there's one thing I hate about my iPad Mini w/ Retina...it's the 4:3 display. So annoying when watching MLB At Bat games, NBA Gametime games and Youtube. Fine for web browsing but garbage for video.
I just snagged a new LG Pad 8.3 GPE for $225 from Expansys. I never heard of them until the deal was posted on Android Police. They have other discontinued GPE devices as well.
Are you guys aware of the app Showbox which allows you to stream free movies and TV shows on your Android device?
