I got one for you. Battlecreek Middle School in St Paul. Carol and I pulled Dominic out of the school yesterday for his own safety. He got into his third fight since September on Monday. He will be homeschooled online for the rest of his eighth grade year. It all stems from two things. Race and Politics.

Fight one. The music teacher who is black decided to let the kids use a computer to create their own campaign songs for Obama. Dom was the only kid to pick a rock beat to his song and support McCain. That started a s*** storm. Some kids decided that since my son didn't go with a rap or Obama he just wasn't black enough. They f***ed with him about how light skinned he is and finally after some verbal sparring one of them punched him in the back of his head. That lucky contestant got his jaw fractured by what sounded like a sold left hook from my son. This was doing class and sfter my son asked Mr Brown to tell these kids to stop. The teachers response was "Why,do they scare you?" Dom and the kid that hit him was suspended.

Fight two. Gym class. The election was being discussed while shooting hoops. Some kids brought up that Dominic was supporting McCain. They surrounded him and tried to pressure him into supporting Obama because he was black. My son stated he dosen't support anyone based on race. If so that would make him a racist. The kids flipped out and said they were black and they can't be considered racist. Two of them went after Dom. One punched him in the chest and the other hit him in the ribs. Dom responded by punching one on them in the nose and body slamming the other. The gym teacher broke it up. All involved were suspended.

Fight three, last Monday. Music class. A white kid that wants to be "Down with the brotha's" decided to f*** with my son about how he didn't look and sound black. He said that Carol and I were mixed and all the white blood in him made him stupid enough to like McCain over Obama. Dom agin asked the music teacher Mr Brown to get this kid away from him. Mr Brown replied"What do yo want me to do?It was your choice to back McCain. Deal with it." A few minutes later Dom was smacked in the face by the kid. Dom stood up and beat the kid to a pulp. He broke the kids orbital bone and one of his eardrums. Dom broke his left hand in the process. Dominic was the only one suspended in this incident. We are being told we will have to pay the medical bills for the kid that started this.

Yesterday Carol,Dom and I spent an hour on the Chris Baker radio show letting Dom tell his story. We have started the process of taking on the Teachers Union to get Mr Brown fired. My son is an Honor Roll student and the favorite of many teachers at the school. Two broke down in tears yeaterday when we informed them we had pulled him out of the school.

I won't post how I really feel about this whole situation. I would get banned. I will say that since my family supported someone other than Obama,we have been asked to leave a church and my son was the victim of hate crimes. I have major issues with many in my race right now. If I hear "Uncle Tom" or "House Nigger" one more time,I am going to jail. Tolerance and change??? Bullshit. My wife and I have been dealing with this kind of racism from our community as long as we can remember. Now in 08 with a mixed President elect,my son has to deal with it as well. FANFUCKINGTASTIC. How can a group of people that suffered the worst discrimination in this country's history vote 70 percent aginist Prop 8 in California? I starting to stroke out. I'm done for now.

Teal,

What would you think if I posted something like this:

Interesting displays of tolerance by Southern students...

Obama noose found on Kentucky campus
Texas lineman gets kicked off team for racist facebook message to Barack Obama
St. Albans student, administrators disagree over suspension, Obama shirt (WV)
Wilson said a boy in her gym class that morning told her, "Oh, sh-, now there's a black family in the White House" and "He's going to get shot in a couple months anyway." The classmate later used a racial epithet to describe Obama in front of Wilson's sister, she said.
Noose hanging at Baylor after election
Multiple instances of white students yelling racial slurs at black students after election at Ole Miss
In one episode, one black sophomore, Aaron Thomas, said 10 minutes after Obama was pronounced the winner he started screaming outside the Kincannon Residence Hall, “Obama won, Obama won.”

Thomas’ celebration didn’t last long after three students started calling him the n-word, and saying we have a (expletive deleted) N-word for a president, Thomas said.

...

Thomas said 15 white girls surrounded one black female and taunted her.

Thomas said the 15 females said, “What are you going to do? It’s 15 against one.”

According to Booth, the N-word was used by the crowd of 15 white girls. No fight occurred and UPD did not arrive at this incident.
I would think it had not one damned thing to do with the article I posted. Not one.

Damn Jack. Sorry to hear that. It's a good thing that Dom's regimen seems to have prepared him to defend himself so far, but it's apparent that his safety is coming seriously into jeopardy. That's got to be frightening to deal with as a parent no matter how confident you are in his pugilism skills.

Best of luck with the legal battles ahead.

So it begins-Big Brother is watching.

Funny the police never went after any of the f***in morons who called for Bush's assassination, much less any of the less inciteful-yet-still-moronic rhetoric espoused in the last eight years. Guess I'd better get a lawyer ready.

An article about intolerance by Obama supporters has nothing to do with articles about intolerance by McCain supporters/Obama detractors?

And article about a little girl who does an experiment, who herself has no dog in the hunt one way or the other, seeing as how her parents are split, has nothing to do with all those articles of Obama hung in effigy(which happened to Palin as well, but didn't receive nearly as much scrutiny or press), or other partisan, one sided reports, one way or the other. This was done fairly, without preconception, and without the 'gotchas' that follow most partisan attempts at things.

The experiment and the stories that Jared tried to throw in as related are not germane to each other. In any way.

So what was the point of posting the article, Teal, if not to say something about tolerance and Obama supporters?

I thought it was a clever experiment, by a clever girl, and it got the classmates who berated her for wearing the McCain shirt to think, after her teacher revealed what the girl had done. That's the point.

It sounds like you're saying any article that mentions intolerance against Obama or Obama supporters must be partisan and one-sided. I don't think news reports like this one that Jared linked to fit that mould.

http://www.kwtx.com/home/headlines/34117539.html

The reason reports of Palin being hung in effigy didn't receive as much scrutiny is because there's no history of white women being lynched by angry mobs in this country.

Understood. Although you have to understand that it comes off as Obama supporters = intolerant (as is the commentary from many on the internet on this article).

Jesus H, Jack-diggity, that's terrible. You did the right thing, though.

Pack up your nomadic asses and move to Marcellus. I would hope our school district is cooler than that!

Best of luck. Hope Dom's hand heals soon, and good luck getting that sh*theel of a teacher canned. But it won't be easy, considering tenure gives teachers the right to be f*ckwads with impunity.

Take care,
PK

Which raises a very troubling future of our country if Obama allows the race thing to pervade his presidency. Everything that is done or said can have that filter applied, and therefore mute every single criticism of the man, whether the criticism is warranted or not.

Maybe (if she was hot, anyway-Mrs. Farmer would have scarred us all for life if she'd have done that  )...

But it would have been contemptuous in the eyes of my parents, as it is mine now, as a parent.

JD, sounds like Mr. Brown needs to be on the receiving end of a smackdown himself. It's one thing to hear of kids acting like immature idiots, but it's really frustrating to hear of adults, especially teachers, acting this way.

Then again, it is Minnesota. You people over there are so crazy you're close to electing Al Franken

Thanks Jared. It's sad man. It really hurts Carol and I to see him messed with in this manner. Can you PM me the link? My parents want to hear it.

Thanks man. Carol and I are soooo tired of this bullshit. Sometimes I wish we didn't bring a kid into this world. Dom's a bright kid that marches to the beat of his own drum. I cannot understand why people can't put race aside and leave him alone. In all of our travels,my son has only been f***ed with about his race from kids that are minorities as well. Goddamn idiots living up to the sterotypes racist whites have spouted about for years. I don't get it. WTF??? Anyone got the answer? Carol and I are tapped out.

Jack, that is unspeakably awful.

I have some personal experience with a similar situation, where a few years ago a Philadelphia kid stayed at my parents house for several months, because with a little help he left north Philly public schools to go a private school in the burbs. He was a light-skinned black kid, who was repeatedly given crap at school for 'acting white' (aka getting good grades), and was literally jumped at a school ceremony once when he received an academic award.

It's a crazy world we live in.

I can only imagine what it's like to see your son go through it.

Jack:

I'm listening to the podcast right now. Dominic sounds just like the thoughtful, well-spoken young man that he is. You sound like the functionally illiterate fool that you are. :)

Seriously, you and Carol should be very proud of Dom. To hear an eighth-grade talk so rationally and intelligently, and without saying "like" every other word, is quite a compliment to both of you.

But why did you have to unveil Dom's Sinatra fetish on the air? :)

Hang in there. Good luck in the fight against the school.
