I completely missed the boat on this game. Now I'm mildly curious as a relatively slow paced alternative to the increasingly crap COD.

Just got in from my baseball game (we upset the#1 seed!) and the game was on my doorstep. Have a few coaching things to do but plan on around 9 or so.

Against my better judgement I picked it up. Had some best buy rewards points that covered the full price of admission so I figured what the heck??!! I like military shooters of all shapes and sizes so I hope I dig this too.

Ditto. FS just had a trade 2 games for it and an additional 10 bucks towards any game in June so I took the plunge. Played only about 30 of MP early this afternoon as I probably won't have anytime until the weekend due to travels. Played mainly as engineer but wasn't totally sure what my team was doing, needless to say communication is important.

Hot s***, Guerrila mode is INTENSE! I absolutely love this game. Just had several rounds with Diablo, Dan, and Spooky, and man alive is it ever fun...and that was just Guerrila (think Horde mode, but way smarter, and way more fun). Played a level of the campaign with Terry this afternoon, and it's also going to be a real kick. Here's the bottom line: If you even remotely liked either of the Advanced Warfighter games, this one is a must-buy. In many ways, it's better than either of those games. The online competitive has plenty of modes, full private rooms (16 people, folks!), no respawn modes...man. It's a complete, complete package.

I never play multiplayer, but I did the first few campaign missions solo when my daughter commandeered my Dragon's Dogma. I'm seriously impressed. It's the first time I've played a game like this where I feel like a member of an elite unit, not the only one capable of doing anything. Tagging targets and ordering sync shots to drop multiple bad guys never gets old. Very impressed after a couple of missions.

Gotta play some more co-op, Terry. 4 badasses who happen to be real people is even more fun... :D

I'll probably end up getting this next week when I return from Indy ... if the DSP Fade hasn't taken place by then. :)

I have a few games to trade, so buying GR:FS will dent my money clip a bit less than normal.

A few initial impressions...

- Game is legit, I was worried for a sec with the review embargo.

- Graphics are better than I expected (after playing the Beta). The campaign mode has moments that are downright incredible looking. Wow.

- Campaign mode in co-op is pretty bad-a$$. I have only done the first two chapters with one other human but it was really cool. The only slight concern I have is that the campaign might be a tad too easy. I'll have to try it again on Elite mode. It just seems that the 'ghost' team is severely overpowered against the enemies.

- Guerilla Mode is very fun and a nice addition to the game modes.

- Multiplayer is...well...amazing. After playing the beta quite a bit things started to click for me. Not that I'm that great, but I have a much better handle on what I'm doing. The cover system and detailed tactical elements are just incredibly done. I really hope DSP has enough guys to at least be able to have 4v4 private sessions. 'Siege Mode' is a hit for me. The gadgets you open up too when progressing through the ranks are just too freakin' fun and cool! I can't get enough of the stun gun and hacking an enemy to get the drop on his teams locations.

- Weapon modification is so freakin' cool! At first I thought "ugh, I'll never sit and tweak all my weapons 'cause I'll never know what difference it made without playing with that weapon for hours in MP". Wrong. Not only is the interface pretty well done, but every single aspect that you can change or upgrade has a very detailed description of how it changes the weapon. The best part - you can hit the 'start' button at any time when looking at a modification and it brings you right into a shooting range to try it out. And there is NO loading time going in and out of the range so it's quite seamless. Brilliant.

I have no idea what kind of legs this game with have here (or even with me) but right now I truly think it will be my go to shooter for the year. And that is after extensive play time with the Beta. If MP doen't start to get too exploited somehow and the tactical elements still stick as the best way to "win" then it'll be a huge hit both for me and here at DSP. And again, it has PRIVATE MATCHES!!!!!!! Plus the maps aren't huge so 4v4 would be perfect.

There will be people that get incredibly good at the MP game. And there will be frustrations, but I swear this game seems to (at least tries to) reward team play and being smart (rather than running and gunning) more than any shooter before it. I mean, there isn't even a true Team Deathmatch mode. It's called 'Conflict' and you get MUCH more points for helping your team and trying to do the objectives than kills give you. So even more possible than with BF3, you can have a k/d ratio of like 3/12 and still rack up thousands of points. Even be the top of the team. Which helps you level up.

Great, great game.

I'll be on tonight. I got lured in by the prospect of finishing my first run through of Diablo 3 last night, so I never made it from PC to Xbox.

LOL It wasn't you, it was me. :) I realized that I was undermining myself with too much DPS. Once I got that in balance, it was easy as could be.

For any GRAW vets -- does the campaign in single/co-op require the same type of strategy as in the previous GRAW games (eliminate hordes of minions, find boss, eliminate boss, etc)?

I don't really remember the GRAW games too well, but I think I can safely say that this game is probably much different in most all aspects. (not better or worse - just different and can't really compare to the other games in the series)

Not sure really. I've sent some invites out to those that have logged into the game already. But no one has joined. Let me know if I am doing something wrong.

I didn't get an invite and I also didn't see a way to join in game. Even though it says join or create squad when you go into that menu you can only create one. Are we sure these aren't just session based?

Played some more MP this morning and man, this game is just incredible. SO my style. After feeling slightly disappointed in the map size from the Beta I now think they are just perfect. Such a great mix of great cover elements and high and low areas. And I am really feeling a good amount of team work and communication with randoms. I really hope that sticks.

Might not get on tonight (damn busy prepping for District semi final) but I plan on being around tomorrow night/this weekend. I haven't even scratched the game's surface but so far it is legit.
