I hit a homerun on my second swing on the Vita version then proceed to strikeout 14 times in a row.

I really am out of practice and the thumb stick is so precise or finicky depending upon how you look at it. I like Pulse pitching but not for the vita version, but I like it because I walked a few guys with it on.

Just having the hardest time picking up the ball to hit, you need to be super fast on your decisions. I'm sure I will get use to it.

Overall the game looks great thought and I really have no idea what the complaints could be on the vita.

I'm so excited right now...my copy of The Show, which I preordered and paid overnight shipping for, did not arrive today. I'm so f'n pissed right now. The one game I look forward to every year....it's damn near a holiday for me...and Gamstop f's my order up. God damn it. I'm so bitter. It shouldn't be this big a deal but it is. I had to get it shipped because, due to my baseball coaching responsibilities, I knew I wouldn't have time to run pick it up today. I guess I'll just sit here wondering how great the game is going to play...like I've been doing for weeks. F@CK!!!

Amazon is WAY more reliable with their release day shipping. You'll only make the Gamestop mistake once.

I used Amazon release day shipping and got a text at about 11:30 saying it was delivered. I've only had one order from them with release day shipping not show up on release day.

I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but hey. There's a lesson to be learned here. :)

I'm glad I stopped the pre-order game.

I walked into Best Buy and got both version, my $20 off. Then went to Gamestop picked up the MLB / NBA 2K combo.

Yeah, if I don't order from amazon with release day shipping I do one of two things. Hit up my local BB on release day, or grab a few annual releases early from a local mom & pop shop.

I've never used Amazon for a video game purchase but I've ordered plenty of games from GameStop.com with overnight shipping and never had a problem.

Back to sulking.

Very good experience so far with this game. A few things: There are a ton of third strikes in the dirt. I reached base twice in my first game on third strikes in the dirt. Seems like there are too many foul tips by the CPU, but that may just be a result of my pitching. I'm really liking the pulse pitching. It's fast and does not make things feel too precise when pitching. Improved physics are noticeable. RTTS awesome as usual.

This is baseball bliss! Love the amount of customization that SCEA allows.

- I want to like pulse pitching but I just don't get it yet! Alright, I get it but I suck! I can't get the timing down at all. Any suggestions?

- Zone hitting is nice, but I can't stand the yellow splotch. They couldn't have gone with a more subtle color?

- Have since switched to classic pitching and timing hitting. The pace to me is absolutely perfect with the classic pitching.

- The new broadcast cut scenes are great and gives it a true television feel, but after a few innings, I switched to fast play.

- Speaking of fast play, I love you can customize the settings. So, I leave on home run celebrations, and occassionally they
pan to the pitcher just to break up the quick pace.

- The subtleness of the new ball physics is a great addition. As many have stated, it does give a weighted feel to the ball when hitting.

- Love that they decided to automatically show you on every swing whether you swung late, early, etc. And if you don't swing, it shows the
whether the pitcher released the ball early or late.

- The added commentary is a welcome addition, but it's only slightly improved. I'm just tired of Matt V and his play calling. I'll eventually
turn off commentary all together.

- So many new animations. Carpenter's delivery is spot on. Love the new batting stances.

- Fielding feels more immersive than in year's past.

- It's quite evident that arm strength needs to be lowered, but that's all the sliders I'm touching so far.

- Really like that playing against an inferior team like the Pirates with my Cardinals feels like an advantage. And playing against a team like the Angels is a
difficult proposition.

I am in awe.... 8O

Took it out of the packaging.. thank you Amazon release day shipping and popped into the ps3. To show you how much I use my pc3, it had to download and install 3 software updates before I could install The Show. :)

Went for 10 GB install and played my first game vs the Braves at Busch (settings on Veteran and pulse pitching, normal analog hitting and fielding)

Pulse pitching might even be better than or as good as MLB 2k's pitching, I absolutely LOVE it. Of course Dan Uggla was glad I was new to the pitching mechanism as he smacked a 2 run HR off Wainwright in the first inning. I'm just so happy at the way they impletmented it - you can really tell certain things, like confidence, who's pitching, etc..

Hitting is tough so far for me, but I love the camera view. I did have one Holliday hit smack off the wall in LF, but most of my hits that were not strikeouts were of a variety, that's for sure. I didn't see one hit that was like any other hit in the game.

Braves - 7R 13H 2E
Cards - 2R 7H 0E

Chipper through one over the 1B head as he was trying to catch a speedy Furcal on a chopper down the line. Then he had one go under his glove, which gave him both errors in the game.

True broadcast or whatever they call it is FANTASIC. My daughter comes in and says, "Oh, baseball started already?" took her a few minutes to realize I was playing a game. :)

I should have taken tomorrow off.. I want to play into the wee hours of tomorrow morning.

Nothing comes to mind that was a turn off, game played pretty much perfect for all 9 innings. OH.. the bullpen warmup options are great too!

Dan,

McClellan's delivery is perfect.. he was the only pitcher for me who could set the Braves down 1, 2, 3 :)

damn. this is making me want to go out and buy a ps3.

ok, OT a little, but if I have xb, is ps3 worth it other than the show? I don't care about that uncharted series. What else other than blu ray is good about ps3? I am pretty happy w/ XB EXCEPT FOR BASEBALL!

btw i got like $200 in amazon credit. they having any good deals on ps3?

There are three things I do with my PS3...The Show, Uncharted and Blu-Ray. So to me...no other real reasons to get one. If The Show wasn't a PS3 exclusive, I probably wouldn't have a PS3 because every other game that comes out is better on the 360. But then again, when you've got 200 bucks credit, you're 2/3 of the way there. :)

Buy the PS3.. I'm with DB, I bought my PS3 for The Show only. I added Uncharted as well. Little BIg Planet was great too if you like those kinds of games.

Alright, I've settled on analog pitching. Love it this year as it feels it's been refined a bit. More than likely, I'll switch back between classic and analog, but really enjoying analog.

Pulse pitching is great (starting having success with it), however I started getting a headache after a couple innings. So, that is out.

I told myself to relax and take a strike. Almost immediately, I started getting deeper counts and striking out less. Strung a couple hits together and drew a walk.

You're absolutely right Todd about the variety of hits. I've seen line shots, nubbers, high bouncing balls, texas leaguers, etc etc.

I traded in our wii and wii games awhile back for a used ps3 on Amazon awhile ago just to play BR movies and The Show. Like you, I'm happy with every other game on the x360.

The Show saw very little play time from me last season.. but wow.. MLB 12 is quite the full package. Easily the best looking sports game I've ever seen, and while I'm not a big graphics person, the gameplay is superb this year. Pulse pitching is so addicting and this true broadcast is genius. I honestly think the commentary isn't all that bad either.

Next game I'm going to head to Anaheim to play Pujols and the Angles in a night game vs Carpenter.

I can see myself playing deep into a 162 game season.

The broadcast presentation is actually an improvement over last year....how could it not though? Matt does add a bit more commentary about each individual player. Played the Blue Jays and Dave Campbell remarked how Rasmus would love nothing more than to provide a key blow against his former team. Prior to that however, they mentioned the trade that brought him to the Jays from the Cardinals.

If anyone is on the fence about this game, Best Buy has kiosks set up with the full retail game that is playable. So, before plunking down money for a PS3 and the game, you could essentially play an entire game in one sitting. To me and many others, it's a system seller. Then again, the blu ray player as Db has mentioned is excellent quality and still reviews as one of the better blu-ray players on the market. Thus, think of the blu-ray player costing you $120 or so, and the balance costing you the game system.

Ahhh the beauty of eBay. Took my $20 physical copy of The Show...sold it for $33 on ebay plus $4 for shipping...and bought the digital version for 35 bucks. :) So all in all, it cost me a few dollars after fees and whatnot, but it's so much nicer having the digital only version. Those damn cards are the devil.

That's my workaround for the lame ass bundle deal only working on the two physical copies of the game.

Hey the ultimate retribution for you is every time you boot up the damn game it shows a nice little countdown of the Braves and Red Sox collapses last season. So yeah, I've got my copies on release day, but I get to watch that stupid f'n video every time I boot the damn game up. :)

Downloaded the digital version on the PS3 last night, transferred it to Vita this morning.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes.

I almost missed my subway stop this morning.
