I had the same problem with NHL. It actually worked when I got the "error" message, apparently. Have you tried playing online?

Still waiting for the damn UPS man.
Will try later on, have another long trip late tonight. :?

Edit: Code worked after rebooting the machine. Weird. Thanks Rob.
Just had that same problem. Used your fix and now it works. Thanks!

Definitely interested as long as you don't mind someone who's shitty with little knowledge of proper tactics. If you're ok with that, I'm your guy!

Just finished a couple of online games. You definitely have to build your play in order to get your chances at scoring, be more patient if you will. Both games were laggy for some reason but it got better in the end. Always get a kick when people ask me hey, you're not Real or Barca for a change, but Boca Juniors. Good man. :)

FYI, I can't send an invite until you create a virtual pro.

If I had this game on a console, we would be going Boca-River, River-Boca TONIGHT. :)

I would love to, in real life! But I might keep my River Plate kit at home so I could survive for the entire 90 minutes. :)

Bro, one of these days when I visit the East coast, I'll stop by your area we take the 11 hours flight to beautiful Buenos Aires, drive to La Boca with your River jersey on and if you make it alive in 5 minutes, my pals and I will treat you to a nice Asado grill and Tango all night long. :D

Seriously, wished you still digged the console.

Jimmy, there's no Argentina league. That's a crime IMHO.

Rob, please tell me we will have a reasonable name this year? Something that at least miky resembles the name of some kind of athletic team? You know what I'm talking about. And dont go too Bears on the uni creation. Think DSP blues....

Folks, if its anythingike NHL, you can send a request to join once you have played an online game with your pro. You should be able to find the club by searching for friends' clubs or by name once Rob tells us the name. Tell us the name, Rob, please.

I do wish it were like NHL in that you always have a field player and a goalie ready to go, but I get it that goalie is different in soccer. Still, I'd like to try it once in a while in at least friendly or v. CPU practice games and I just don't know how well those field players can jump in as goalie.

Mundane FC

You can indeed send a request to join. Kits are always in flux. Currently we're using Zenit's...hmmm don't know why. :)

Servers were pretty FUBAR until late last night. Really going to be tough with the robo players, as the new passing engine is not very forgiving for those with low ratings.

It's the only Russian team I can stand. Plus they have three very distinct kits. And of course, you can't beat the trapezoid, shaped nets. Just like home, baby.

Does anyone know if there is a way to play your virtual pro in a regular OTP game, like you could in NHL? I think that would be 'uber' helpful. Everything 'alles' will come with practice. Aside from the servers and the lag last night, clubs look very promising. Passing is difficult and rewarding, pace is held in check, and positioning is everything. The only major annoyance I found was when using the 'back button' to switch views when locked. For some reason camera goes in some swinging motion. Gave me a headache. Not good, and it was fine last year. Go figure. I am still figuring out the optimal settings, but I think all 'assissted' is the way to go online. I just keep my lobs and crosses on manual and semi.

Rob, do I get points for working the team motto into the conversation?

I made a nice through pass to someone last night for our first score when we were down 2-0, usually i am a lump of meat on the pitch, other then that not really :)

Actually I don't like the default Tele Camera as it is too zoomed in and I can't see the whole pitch, there were plenty of times i had no idea where the ball was. Sometimes i was so busy trying to orientate myself that the ball would come to me and I wouldn't notice it right away and that's a mistake in this game as you need to control the ball.

Other then that the way the players move and react is amazing, this is how a physic's engine should be used.

Soooooooo responsive. Remember where this game was at like four years ago?

I had a Henry/Angel lovefest in my opening game to beat the Galaxy 4-2. Very fun. Now if only I could get Gameface to work. Otherwise midfielder Art Deco is ready to roll.

Team play online is wicked fun, better than FIFA 10.

Offline it still leaves a staggering amount to be desired, particularly opponent attacking AI (or lack thereof). Coupled with the ability of the slowest defender on a one-star League 2 side to close down even the fastest forward, you end up with about 90 percent of the matches as nil-nil draws. Imagine how much fun that can be. Indeed, I have yet to be scored on by the CPU on any level other than Legendary (where I did lose one match 0-1)...

What's the deal, Madden 11 servers seem less reliable than previous versions?

Previous versions of FIFA have had reliable online play too.

Ironic if EA Sports games are having online issues when they're making buyers of used games purchase an online access code.
