Maybe someone should contact his wife and see what he would like. I thought hockey jersey myself but if we have enough guys throwing in 10 or 20 dollars each we might be able to get him something he could use.

But with more guys on board for this cause, I was thinking more of a Flyers hockey jersey or MLS jersey of his choice. A replica jersey costs about $120 I think and if we all pitch in a bit, it's not too bad.RobVarak wrote:I'll PM everyone with my PayPal e-mail once we have a list of donors. Flowers good, or should we try to come up with something else?

Geeez........I just read through this thread and hope Naples is improving.
I was so sad to read about his condition. Does anyone have the latest update on what's going on with him? (I can't get to Facebook from work).
I hope he can fight through this thing. Good health is something that we all take for granted sometimes, but when we hear about something like this, we are all shaken and reminded how fragile we can be.
Get Well Naples! Hope you can get back on DS soon and write to us.

I'm happy to do it the old fashioned way, if people trust me and want to send me checks. Also open to other suggestions.JRod wrote:Anyway not to have paypal or another service take a cut. I'd rather have the money go to Marc rather than paypal. Just wondering?
Oh and I vote for money because I'm sure the hospital bills are staggering.

Ill just mail you $20 if thats cool. Im in because although Ive never met any of you (except PK) Ive read this damn site everyday for years and its always been a nice quick break from a difficult day at the hospital or free and handy electronics advice.
I think a jersey is a great gift because he will always associate it with this site. If youve got enough $$$ you could always get his/her jerseys.
Other ways to think about the Mrs would be to find out the distance between rehab and her home....will she be using hotels, need gas cards, food cards, etc.

Facebook update:
The trach is out!!! He is officially in Rehab (at Jefferson, room 334), and is doing great. A bit of a fever today (100.3), and now has a pretty serious rash covering most of his body, but it wasn't as angry when I left. Legs are showing steady improvement, and arms are great. Has a pretty intense schedule tomorrow wit...h OT, PT, & Speech. Still no change in hearing. (From Jen)
