I'm pretty sure the the PS3 version of 2k9 didn't do very well since it didn't even make the list, whereas the PS2 version of the Show 09 still sold over 100K. So it appears that 2k10 will NOT outsell the show. So any prediction based on that sales fallacy will probably be false as well.
I have no idea what numbers you are looking at. VGChartz has 2K9 selling 630K for the 360 and 130K for the PS3.
NPD numbers...the ones that count. Keep in mind, I only used the first month of sales (March of 2009, which I stated). So obviously the totals are low because they sell games after the first month of release...usually.

I'm just wondering why you care who posts about a game? What does that have to do with anything?
It was a joke, based on what happened here last year and who posts in this thread. I would excuse the fact that you didn't know this with all of 7 posts, but something tells me you're not a new user to DSP, just one with a new handle.

I've only watched half the video so far, but I really like the new batting camera angle. I just wish the guy playing it didn't fast forward through the presentation stuff -- I'd like to see how that looks as well. This may be a year I grab both games.

I am not like those who complain about the wrong color lacing on the gloves, or so-and-so is chewing the wrong brand of sunflower seeds, but those uniforms really look atrocious. I didn't even know what team was pitching when it first started.
The computer no longer swings and connects at every strike in the zone. The computer didn’t take any strikes outside the zone; it’s (hopefully) assumable it will in the game.
One of the new features is shown off: hitters with good eyes get a flash on the strike zone border on whether the pitch will be a strike or a ball, and the general location.
The right fielder threw the ball to second like he was standing next to the base. Hopefully, it isn’t indicative of cannon arms which make doubles difficult and triples impossibilities.

What bothers me though is that the location is shown BEFORE the pitcher is done delivering the ball. I don't mind that this occurs with pitch type, as they say good hitters pick up on pitcher's arm motions for different pitches, but how the heck would you know *where* a ball will be going before they even release the ball?

I'm not sure I like that batting view. The pitcher looks far away like he is pitching from center field. It does remind me a little of All Star Baseball's camera. Hopefully you can zoom in a little.
Game pretty much looks and seems like it plays like prior versions.
I thought the batting cam looked strange considering you can't see the catcher or umpire. There is such a distance between the pitcher and batter, however I'm sure you'll have the option to choose a different view.
Also, the pitches seem awfully slow to the plate. On one pitch in particular that I thought was a change up, was actually a fastball. I don't know. It just doesn't give a good representation of how fast pitchers really throw.
While the animations seem to have improved (that's been one of my biggest pet peeves with this series), there's an unusual amount of slow down and speed up. For an example, the pitches appear slow, the balls seems to be hit fast, but the fielding animations are also slow. It's hard to describe, but it looks a bit unnatural.
It definitely looks a lot better than I expected, and the presentation seems very nice, but I don't know if it necessarily has me wanting to purchase it. I can't judge it completely until I play the demo. And of course, 2K screw us PS3 owners again by releasing it a week after it's release. Personally, that just shows me they're throwing up the white flag to Sony (likely because of The Show), and putting more emphasis on the 360. I can kind of understand, but one would think they would want to aggressively market this game on both systems. Still....looking forward to playing the demo when it releases.
It's not 2k.. they have already said it's out of their hands. It seems kind of odd to me, the 360 will have the demo next week, but Sony doesn't have theirs until AFTER their game comes out?

watching that gameplay video a few positives jump out at me - for example, even with sliders adjusted i never saw the AI pitcher throw that many balls in an inning. Hell. in some games i did not see that many balls thrown. It looks a lot smoother but I would have liked to have seen a fly ball. The weird hitch when the AI fielder would look like the ball would drop and then make up the last 10 feet in a millisecond really bugged me last year.
The infielders still have that 'Zen moment' when they just hold the ball when thrown back from the outfield, but at least it does not last 10 seconds like it did last year.
Being a 360 gamer, it will be the only game in town, so I guess I will give it a shot. Unless the demo is really bad.

What's weird is that the pitches look slow coming in from the "pitching" view and they look fast while hitting.

There are a number of customizable hitting views in 2K and the view in the video is the one that makes pitches look faster.
Plus, I'm sure you can change the speed of the pitches in the options. You've been able to do that for years in every baseball game that I can remember.
Yes, but at least in last years game changing the pitch speed screwed up base stealing. The pitches came in faster, but since there were no base stealing sliders, you couldn't adjust things to keep it fair. The only option was upping base running speed altogether, which then made the rest of the game wonky......
So I hope there is a way to balance things out this year. Screenshots of the slider screens would be nice, but I'm not holding out hope from Area 51-2k......
I hate to say this but I am a bit interested in the game this year. That video looked pretty good. I just hope it doesn't end up letting us down...again. The demo is going to be the deciding factor for me. Looks like Tuesday.

It's a baseball game. Of course your interested. I'm interested in it every year...only to be disappointed. It's a vicious cycle...at least with the 2k series.
