Flyers have no one to blame but themselves for that loss.

Knuble's penalty was dumb, but at least he was trying to clear the slot for Biron. Giroux's penalty was idiotic. Why the hell do you slash Kunitz's stick when you're skating alongside him AFTER he passed the puck?

Giroux should stay in that penalty box all summer. That could end up being a series-turning penalty.

Plus, the Flyers blew the lead late in the third. Too many cardinal sins being committed. Late goal, bad penalties.

Great goaltending by Biron, though. Fleury wasn't too shabby, either.

Nice to see Carolina tie the series with Jersey.

Take care,
PK

Two semi-soft goals allowed by Mason, who otherwise has played well tonight.

Great tip by Sundin on the first goal, but a goalie never should let one trickle through the five-hole like that. Plus Mason was slow crossing to the other post on Burrows' wrap-around. But to Mason's defense, Burrows never should have been left alone behind the net and allowed to wrap around.

St. Louis is playing much better tonight, especially in their zone and on the PK. The Blues are doing a fine job getting into the shooting lanes, as Vancouver has missed a lot of shots.

The Blues' power play also looks more organized. Nice job of regrouping by Murray and the coaching staff.

But the difference now is Luongo. Is there any question whether this guy is the best goalie in the world, even if the writers insanely don't award him the Vezina this season?

Take care,
PK

Murray had no reason to lose his mind like that on the bench at the end of the game. Surprising from a veteran coach like him.

Vigneault had every right to put Rypien on the last shift of the game as a deterrent against rough stuff at the buzzer. That's smart coaching, not goon tactics. Standard playoff procedure in a rough game against a frustrated opponent.

Did anyone see or hear about this? Rogers Sportsnet Flames' anchor Roger Millions dropped a "c*cksucker" on live TV today during a between-games' report in Chicago.

That was great.

And you are absolutely right about Luongo. The dude is just incredible. Hats off to him. He made some ridiculous saves.

That one hurt last night for the Flyers. Got an early goal to slow down the Pens in the first, but unsurprisingly the Pens tied it.

Then the Flyers get a goal early in the 3rd and I thought they were doing a great job of killing the game as the Pens were getting absolutely no offense. Sure enough the Pens get the puck deep for the first time in 10 minutes and Staal gets body position on Carter and draws a penalty. Took all of 20 secs for a point shot to double-deflect off Coburn's stick and then off the inside of Malkin's leg, 2-2.

I still can't believe Carter didn't put the game away with 8 minutes left. He of 46 goals this year just had to hit the left 3 feet of the net from one foot away.

Giroux is having a rough ride too. -3 in game 1 and took that penalty in OT. It's a shame because otherwise the kid has worked very hard out there and has been one of the only Flyers consistently making things happen in the offensive zone.

Right now the Flyers just look exhausted and Pens simply want it more.

Yep.. Luongo was very sharp. Mason made some great saves as well, but that 5 hole goal killed our momentum.

Sunday should be very interesting to say the least...

Blues still in good shape....Luongo is the difference. Blues outplayed the Canucks last night. Kids were much better. Murray is pissed. EJ wants to play, Blue won't let him. Thoughts of Cam Janssen playing start to enter the mind. Somebody has got to get in their and get Luongo off his game. Bieksa is such a vagina....glad to see Crombeen take him out at the end.
Does Kariya play tomorrow night? Should be a great game tomorrow night!

HAHA.. Bieksa is a vagina.. I would definitely play Cam Janssen.. hate that teams sit their tough guys in the playoffs.

I'm betting PK plays tomorrow night.

Sorry, I'm still suffering ill effects from my broken arm in December. Bones are fine; nerves are not. Scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery June 5, so I might be able to make it back if the Blues go deep into the Finals.

:), except for my damn wrist!

I am a bit bummed out by the Flyers. I've liked them since the Hextall days. Carter missing that half open net shot killed them last night. He scores that and it's over.

Anyone notice the stick throwing incident? Very lucky it didn't lead to a penalty shot. What was he thinking lol.. When they interviewed him, he danced around the question but you could see he did it intentionally. Classic

I'd love to see St Louis challenge, but at this point I stand by what I said before. Sweep or at best, 1 win for St Louis. I think St Louis will win their first game at home, then drop 2 in a row and be done. You said it yourself, Luongo is the difference. What's gonna change in St Louis? The net is still the same size, and the rinks are the same dimensions. He's a pro, and I don't see that changing. Oshie and Boyes have been non existant, so if they get on a roll maybe. I have 500 on Vancouver, and I pretty much consider that cash in hand at this point. But I'd love to see it go 7 games!

I don't think Hartnell ever will be confused for being a Nobel Prize winner in Physics. But his wife is sizzling hot ... :)

I'm no pucks prophet, but my prediction that the Rangers would upset the Caps in the first round based on the play of King Henrik is looking pretty good right now. :)

Them getting shutout at home is pretty shocking. Ovechkin might be the NHL's version of Tracy McGrady. :)

PK, when I was at the Phillies home opener a few weeks ago I noticed Richards+date and Hartnell+wife sitting in the section behind me. Didn't notice them until I was looking around at the 7th inning stretch, then had try hard not to be obnoxious and stare. :)

I've only seen Hartnell's wife in one or two pictures, but one of them, from a Flyers' Wives function on nhl.com a few years back, caused me to stop my eyeballs and stare for about a minute. Simply stunning, a natural beauty whose face could launch a thousand ships.

Nice bod, too, of course. :)

Not being able to watch these playoffs is just killing me alive, especially when I see ridiculous comments being posted. Do you really know K. Bieksa? Was it a turtle incident? Could it be because the game was already 3-0? Again, wished I had a chance to watch the game but let me assure you that unless it makes total sense for the team and the right circumstances, Bieksa will fight the toughest dude out there.

How's being 0-2 still considered being in good shape? They're in great shape if the series is best out of 10 games actually.

Regarding A. Murray blowing a gasket at the end, I have a lot of respect for 'Mr SpongeBob', he has a bright mind and has done a great job wherever he coached including Team Canada but I think he was just trying to rally his troops for game three. So coach AV sees Crombeen on the ice and decides to play a middle weight guy like Rypien in the final minute. He anticipates trouble, do you think he should have play one of the Twins instead?

And Blues should know that it takes way more than the apparent continuous snow showers sprays on Luongo to rattle him, it's just plain dumb and childish.

Hope game 3 continues to be as physical as it's been from what I gather,
can't wait to get back home tomorrow and catch some of the action.

It's 7:35M Sunday morning in Hong Kong and the hotel restaurant is playing DET-COL in a big screen. Any playoff Hockey at this time for me, thaaaannk yooouuu. Does COL realize that these are the playoffs? No emotion, no hitting, no nothing. Who said that the Jackets may surprise?

Habs looked like the streaky crappy team they were in the second half of the season in that first period...that first Bruin goal was just lazy.

yuck...
