Yes. Sold it already. Fun game, but the controls are clunky. There were too many times in which I made the proper motion, and nothing happened.

I thought maybe it was my DS Lite, but every other game works fine. I checked out a few reviews via Metacritic, and I found a similar complaint in a few other reviews.

Great concept, flawed execution. I'm having enough fun with my "Big Three" of Clubhouse Games, Brain Age and Meteos that I didn't need to persevere with the frustrating controls of Trauma Center.

Take care,
PK

When I was walking around stores shopping for Christmas, it became very obvious that Nintendo was selling a ton of DS systems and games. Right before heading on the road, I was looking at picking up a game but was shocked to see so many games out of stock.

Anyone played the new Castlevania yet?

Yeah, Costco here had a sh*tload of DS Lites in November and little-by-little the stack kept getting smaller until it was gone before Christmas.

Dave,

I have played the new Castlevania game, albeit only sparingly. I picked it up a few days ago when CC was selling it at a reduced price of $19.99. I do think it's probably an excellent game, but it's just not my type of game. I do like the whole 2D style game that it is, but I'm not one for potions, magic, and continuous searching for upgraded weaponary. For that reason, I traded it in for credit at Game Stop. I got $18.50 back in store credit, so I don't feel too bad trading it in after only a couple days.

Games like SMB, Brain Age, and Elite Beat Agents are more to my liking. They're more quick up and play games. For a handheld, I'm not necessarily looking for a game that's too engrossing. However, Animal Crossing still intrigues me quite a bit.

I finally picked up a DS Lite, along with Clubhouse Games, Metriod Pinball and a Star Trek game.

Clubhouse is fun, as is Metriod Pinball (I love pinball) and I haven't tried the Star Trek game yet.

This Best Buy restocked fairly quickly. There was also a ton of 60 gig PS3s available.

The DS is platform is weird in that for a system that's had such phenomenal success, it sure doesn't have the greatest library. I've been reading a few of sites' game of the year awards and it's been noted more than once that despite the handheld sales, the general consensus is that the PSP kicked the crap out of the DS in the software department in 2006. When you think about it, until Elite Beat Agents came out there wasn't a 5 star game to come out for the system for a good six months (New Super Mario). And there are a lot of stinkers on the DS too... a lot.

There were a lot of 5 star games last year of course, but if you've been with the system since day one like me you've played most of those. Going to the store to buy a DS game turns up dry a bunch for me.

I still believe that a lot of the DS systems are being sold as much for being GBA's with way better screens as they are for having good games to play. I don't think that the DS's library has been anywhere as good as the GBA's up to this point.

A lot of the DS systems being sold are for games like Nintendogs and Brain Age.

Anyone know when the Opera web browser for the DS is coming out in the U.S.? The Wii version is already out.

That's strange to hear, because ever since I've had the PSP (May '06) I've been searching for high quality games. So far the only ones I'd consider A+ titles are MLB the Show and maybe Madden 07.

Almost every PSP game seems to suffer from 2 things: 1) long load times, and 2) port-itis. The ports always seem to lack certain features, and it tarnishes an otherwise good game. MX Mototrax is a great example. Nice graphics, not to bad with load times, lots fo traks, but only 3 opponents per race.

If developers could solve the issues with laod times, and manage to keep all the content, I think the PSP would be much better off. Lately, I've had to keep talking myself out of selling it.

Well I was lucky enough to grab 1 on 3 white DS left in KB Toys. The girl at the counter told me they got 19 last night and they put them up 30mins before I bought mine.

Those suckers are selling like hot cakes.

Are you interested in games like Tekken, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid, LocoRoco and Lumines II? I would consider them high quality games, although I haven't bought any of them for my PSP. I probably would have got Tekken if so many reviews hadn't cautioned that performing diagonals on the D-pad on a lot of PSPs was kind of dodgy.

If anyone would like to play something online on the DS, I'm up for it. Mario Kart plays flawlessly so far. I suck, but it's still fun. :)

I also had a Lite once, and only brought it back because my girls were fighting like hell over it and i wasn't letting that happen over a gaming system. But since the Wii has been a great success in the house and they've learned to share, i'm thinking about a re-purchase. Which leads to my question:

Does anyone know what "relationship", if any, there will be in the future between the Wii and the DS Lite? If there is one on the horizon it may be enough to push me to grabbing it again. Thanks.

Nintendo has said there will be some connectivity between Nintendo DS and Wii, like downloading demos and other content to a DS from a Wii.

Obviously, specific games will also have their own connectivity features. In the Pokemon game for Wii, you are suppose to be able to battle using Pokemon transferred from the Diamond and Pearl versions of the game on DS.

I double checked and it's correct. I had the same problem entering another friend's Mario Kart code. I guess it's just tempermental at times.

I don't know PK. I was having fun with Super Mario Bros wich was the only game I bought for te DS when I first bought it. I just felt like it was a impulse buy.

Since my PSP was gathering dust I felt I wanted some handeld gaming again and I was luckky enough to find one.

I'm digging the DS online. I beat a girl on chackers and a some guy in Black Jack with Clubhouse games.
