OT: New Fall Series

I like the way they introduced Roberts. Throughout the show we've known that HRG was a soldier, and was reacting to someone else's orders. The flashbacks were nicely executed and the rooftop meeting was awesome! It was clear that "they" were keeping close tabs on Claire, so I didn't find it unreasonable to have the Eric Roberts character pop in the way he did.
I am curious to find out how invisible guy survived, as he does seem tough and invisible, but he was plugged by HRG pretty good a couple times on that bridge.

I loved how they introduced him, but i didn't like him showing up at the house the way he did. Really, it was just to let the truth about Claire be revealed to him, and I'm not sure I see any other reason for him to have been there at all (just to admonish glasses for not having killed nuclear-guy?) Whatever, it's a TV show. The messiness of the relationships is great, like I loved how nuclear guy and the cop were at odds and the situ kept getting worse because of it. And I really loved how the beans were spilled by the cop, unknowingly trampling all over carefully concealed deceptions.

Umm maybe I heard something and misunderstood. But didn't HRG call him to come to the house, thats what they eluded too when the two were together later.Zeppo wrote:I loved how they introduced him, but i didn't like him showing up at the house the way he did. What I thought was HRG knew his cover was blown, the other guy was going to find out, hell the whole neighborhood was out watching. So he calls mind eraser and devises a plan with him to take the fall. Then he calls his boss and tells him to come over, he just found out about Claire etc. etc.
To me the whole thing made perfect sense and it was the only way to cover his tracks.
Perhaps I misread too much into what I thought I heard though.
EDIT: Here is what I didn't get. What happened to the girl who got in touch with Nucleo? You know IM girl? Was that her at the end there in the lab? If so, then it is possible she was instructed to make this whole thing happen. I just found it odd she disappeared from the whole scenario.

I need to re-watch, but I thought I recall Roberts saying that he was called by someone.Zeppo wrote:I loved how they introduced him, but i didn't like him showing up at the house the way he did. And how cool/weird was it that the meeting took place on top of that same building in NYC? I guess that makes more sense now that you see Simone and her dad were involved in a more than tangential manner.

Yeah, they call her "Wireless" and her origin is one of the coolest comics on the NBC page. I was surprised that she wasn't there with the other two, but she may have been too shrewd to get caught up in that messDanimal wrote:

I wish. The casting's been announced, though and it's not him. I don't want to post a spoiler in here, but if anyone's interested PM me.webdanzer wrote:I thought the back of 'Linderman's' head from the previews looked like Donald Sutherland's!

Acting? Who cares if she can act? She looks like she can suck a tennis ball through a garden hose, and isn't that all that matters?webdanzer wrote:I hate to be the thread Eunuch, but get her off of the screen. Her acting summoned up a giant vortex of suck, and that's saying something in a show that already has very uneven performances.

She had like a scene and a half. Why would you consider that "sucking"? Just wondering. I realize she's not going to win an emmy but she is damn attractive...and sometimes that is enough.webdanzer wrote:I hate to be the thread Eunuch, but get her off of the screen. I'm with Web on this one. Cute girls are a dime a dozen in Hollywood, and while she's not horrendous, she wasn't very good at all. Part of it for me is that I think I'm more disappointed in the character itself. Shape-shifter is a really cheap trick, and opens up way too many easy ways out of painted-into corners. It's just too much to me. I mean sure, they've demonstrated no limits on their distribution of powers, but this one seems a little too much, and too easy a crutch to use to get out of jams.
Still, crazy stuff in that episode. I'm very angry at Claire for ditching the Haitian. Silly girl! Great twists with the Sylar/ Mohinder situation. They just can't kikl Mohinder, though, we need a good Hindi actor on TV; better yet, he should do a big song and dance number, Bollywood style! I love how it's still up in the air as to who is a 'good guy' and who is a 'bad guy.' We just don't know enough about the bigger schemes and organizations to really know what any of them is up to. Like Linderman, for example. He could be Mr. Evil, or maybe he's fighting the 'Company' which could mean he's actually on the side of the good guys. I can't wait until we get McDowell, Roberts, and Sulu in the same room.

I told a friend of mine the exact same thing. She "imbalances the game" to use a videogame analogy. I suspect she may not be long for the world for that very reason, though.

Yeah, I'm sure it was part of the deal to get the Spiderman 3 trailer and the exclusive web trailer on NBC.com. If you want this you have to show someone playing a PS3.RallyMonkey wrote:I'm a little surprised that no one mentioned that Jessica and her son were playing a PS3 (i think it was Lair too) in the scene in their bedroom. I didn't like the shape-shifter character either (though the actress was definitely hot). I hope they don't start messing with things that have already happened under the guise of the shape-shifter being there.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

I agree about the PS3. It was such a blatant product placement (even the set-up of the machine) it made me groan. I at least chuckled at the Versa stuff.ScoopBrady wrote:Yeah, I'm sure it was part of the deal to get the Spiderman 3 trailer and the exclusive web trailer on NBC.com. I'm going to guess that the temptation to mess with previous events will be too great not to touch at *all*, scoop, but if they do go there I don't think they'll do too much. After all, she was introduced as a 'new' member with promise.
The game they actually played was some new levels from Heavenly Sword.
There's been some discussion by people who've been tracking this game.
Of course most of the TV audience don't know anything about the game and it's a new IP so people wouldn't recognize the characters.
So they may not get the boost they might expect for the game when it releases, months from now.

So the Heroes season 1 finale was very good in my opinion, had a bit of a surprise ending with Nathan coming in at the end to help save the world and we also got a glimpse of next season starting off with Hiro in the middle of a battle just as the sky darkens. Also a possible bad guy that could be worse than Sylar with the guy that Molly is afraid to look for being that he can see her also.
Might be tempted to rebuy the Xbox HD DVD player and pick this series up for it when it comes out in the fall.

I loved the originals also and rewatched all of the Six Million Dollar Man episodes when they were on the Sci Fi channel a few years ago. I would definitely pick up that dvd set if it ever comes about. That was one of my favorite shows as a kid and I even had the Steve Austin 12 inch figure with the bionic hand and eye and also the Oscar Goldman with the exploding suitcase.Diablo25 wrote:Anyone see the promo for "The Bionic Woman" series that was advertised for next fall?
