You hit the nail on the head. The good teams are supposed to take care of business with weaker teams.
A lot of people were excited about the Cubs sweeping the Cards, but if they are overmatched at home by the Reds (with f***in Bronson Arroyo leading the hit parade), then they ain't a good team yet, in my book.

If the Mets keep hitting like they are hitting, they aren't going to need the pitching that I predicted would hold them back from winning the division. It's just not going to matter if they keep hitting the crap out of the ball. The Braves are leading the league in Runs scored...the only problem is they are like last in ERA...hence the 4-5 record. It's certainly not looking promising. The Mets are at least pitching adequately.
When was the last time you saw M. Rivera blow a save? It happened last night vs the Twins. Johnny Damon created a stir locally by telling The St. Paul Pioneer Press in Saturday's editions that he would gladly move out of center field if the Yankees signed Torii Hunter as a free agent. He's set to make 12 million in 07.

Delgado is a beast.
The guy just double-clutched while in stride and hit a missle over the right field fence to blow the game open.
Gotta love it.
Brewers are tough, their bullpen is very good.
Bring on the Braves tomorow.

Pujols looks a bit beefy
...as does My new good friend Jim Thome
....
Its probably nothing...Afterall...
I heard Bud Selig say on ESPN radio (as Dan Patrick, Mr not so tough guy, gave him oral sex ) that baseball is as clean as its ever been....So all is well.
Excuse Me now while I go and bury My head in that big pile of sand ESPN has been shoveling.

Man, I hate to say this, but. . . That Andruw Jones is one amazing ball player. What a bomb he hit tonight! Thank goodness for Delgado, not to mention Nady, who will surely cool off something fierce in a little while. I sure hope they can stay healthy, especially Pedro. Should be a heck of a series this week, and head to head through the season. Will be interesting to see if they can finally win down in Atlanta this year.

Braves have come back from a lot bigger holes than that. If they can get their pitching right, it's gonna be a dogfight. Mets have played a cupcake schedule so far. This week and next will show us what they are really made of.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:No doubt.dbdynsty25 wrote:Hell of an opening game eh Javi?
Playoff intensity in April.
Gotto love it.
If the Mets can win the next 2 they'll have a 7 game lead already.
They need to take advantage of not facing Smoltz this series and get it done.

If they get into a big hole, they don't have Maduxx and Glavine to help out Smoltz.
Let's see if the Braves can fix their pitching problems without Mazzone.
Still, Braves are the team to beat and I expect them to be there 'till the end.
Really Baseball is clean...Kinda of a false statement since Barry Bonds took HGH and MLB still does not test blood which is the only type of test for HGH. Nice job Bud of lying to everyone.XXXIV wrote:Pujols looks a bit beefy...as does My new good friend Jim Thome

'Cause I'm a Mets fan, have been since '94. I only liked the Braves back when they were worse than the desparately bad Orioles, well, at least until 0-23 and 54-107.dbdynsty25 wrote:Why do you hate to say that?Zeppo wrote:Man, I hate to say this, but. . . Glavine who is on fire and Hudson who has been terrible thus far...not too promising for the Braves. Although they have had good luck against Tommy in the past. We'll see...it just sucks that both teams are so banged up so we're not going to see the "true" battle.Zeppo wrote:Missed the game, but saw the score:dbdynsty25 wrote:I take it that you're not a bigger fan of Andruw's after tonight either then, eh Zeppo?I'll have to check the box score and see what happened.
Rubber match tomorrow!
Yeah, but it's early. They play, what, 16 more times against each other? Besides, the Braves don't really start playing until sometime in July.dbdynsty25 wrote: Glavine who is on fire and Hudson who has been terrible thus far...not too promising for the Braves.
