NCAA 2005 - Fixed ?

Post by davet010 »

Before I debate spending about £11 of my hard-earned on a new version of this, can I confirm or otherwise that the bundled version of NCAA 2005 has been significantly improved from the original, particularly around the slowdown issues ?

cheers

I haven't played the original release, but picked up the bundle disk because many seemed to think it was fixed. All I can say if this new release is fixed, I'd really hate to see the broke version.

Very slow, choppy and just overall a mess imo.

I picked up the new NCAA/Top Spin combo and haven't really noticed much of a difference at all. The slowdown does seem to be limited if you change to the Classic view which is a little further away from the action. There may be fewer drops as well but I wouldn't say it's flawless or anything.

Yeah, my friend got one of those new discs and initially he thought the same thing. He WANTED it to be fixed so badly that he now admits that he was probably imagining things.

The game seems to be better...at least when it comes to catches. I don't have wide open receivers drop the ball all the time like I used to. The slowdown seems to be a bit better, but it's still not acceptable. I'm happy with the fact that the receivers actually catch now so it was worth my 20 bucks.

On a side note. I just for some reason cannot believe for a second that the people at EA Sports would take the time or money to "fix" a game that they are going to be "giving" away.

Based on a small sampling (1 and 1/2 games) - I did not see any evidence of a change in the game. I did not have any slowdown - perhaps due to a newer Xbox with a 'good' CD drive? And I still am seeing low completion rates.

I will repost if I see anything to change my mind.
