Yep.

I haven't been able to log in to XBL since my DSL has been down for almost a week, but I'm pretty sure that i'll get banned as soon as I get online with Halo 2.

Thing is, my XBL subscription ends this month, so I may end up just cancelling it.

"Datapusher said he was temporarily able to regain access to Xbox Live after some tinkering Wednesday night, but was banned again shortly after. He vowed not to give in and buy a new Xbox, the route reportedly taken by many hackers eager to join the online "Halo 2" scrum. "I won't give up that easily," he vowed. "Someone will find a way. Microsoft may be clever, but not as much so as the open-source community...there will always be a way around Microsoft security protocols.""

LOL... what noble pirate nonsense...

I haven't been banned and I have a modded Xbox and I know of at least three other friends who haven't been banned either. I've heard reports that Microsoft is only banning people if you go online in "modded" mode which seems fair since at that point then you can cheat. Otherwise things seem to be fine. A modded Xbox is a wonderful thing....Even without the piracy. I bought Halo 2 and have no problem buying games.

Of course I find all the music pirates to be a bit hypocritcal when they start justifying their actions yet slam game piracy.

Well I finally got to play online yesterday and I haven't been banned. Looks like I'm ok for now. Best of both worlds :D
