Toper wrote:I really wish there was an ignore feature on this board (I hope you're reading this, Jared!)...until then, I'll just have to keep scrolling past your non-funny one-liners.
For someone that doesn't give a sh*t about what I post, you're sure spending a lot of your time on the subject. You're just as bad as Parker...another walking contradiction.
Dear wanna-b mod-dynasty:
That must have been tough for you to read all THAT, huh? If that took "a lot of time" to read, then I apologize (for your reading skills, not for my post)...it sure didn't take alot of time for me to write.
To clarify for you: I will post WHAT I want, WHEN I want, to WHOMEVER I want (within the guidelines of this forum and with respect to Jared and/or any of the other REAL mods out there). If you want to continue your "pretend modding" of this board, then hey, whatever floats your boat, bro.
Quit the stupidity. If you want to turn this into Toper vs. DB, let me know and I'll create another post for you two to fight it out. Otherwise, try and play a little nicer.
No one here is a clone and if you can't take DB's sarcasm then don't reply to him. It's not like he just started posting this way all of a sudden and shocking as it may seem some people actually appreciate his brand of posting.
Telling DB to quit being DB is like telling PK not to hate dogs and stop throwing F-Bombs (which he kindly sensors in his posts) in his rants. Like telling Parker to stick with a team avatar even when the chips are down. Or telling myself or WCO to stop posting links to game information and NPD's and not allowing me to insert funny images in my posts (at least they are funny to me). While we are at it tell Tealboy, Blueduke and Jared to just shut up about swiftboats and posting links in an attempt to contradict each others post. Create a special forum PUI(posting under the influence)/Computer tube for XXXVI to breath into, which forces him to be under the legal drinking limit in his state to have the authority post. Heck you might as well tell Fletch that he has to speak ENGLISH so I can understand 1/3rd of what he posts.
Or
Just realize that we are all different, not everyone is going to get along and just enjoy the fact that you are not going to find a more mature forum on the internet (even with all of our little issues).
So instead of requiring an "ignore" feature how about just ignoring him or take it with the grain of salt everyone else does and rip back into him.

That is all, back to the ol ball game.
BD,
If sarcasm was involved, then I take back everything I said and you can call me an instigator...but with DweeBy I just don't know sometimes. I think you'll agree with me when I say that there are just certain people on boards that we just take the wrong way and/or don't get along with. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep it in mind.

Jared,
Sorry for the outburst...I'm done with this thread.
90% of the sh*t I say is sarcastic as all hell. It's fun when guys get fired up, yourself included. I am a d*ck sometimes and I say sh*t that pisses people off, that's just the way it is. It's a message board...it kills time at work and keeps all of us entertained. If you have a hard time dealing with that, I'm sorry.
I don't take a damn thing seriously on this board and if you think I'm being serious when I give you and others crap, I can't do anything about it. Most on here know my personality and I'm not really like this "offline"...just ask the guys I've played games online with.
I've got no beef with you, yet it seems like everytime I say something that happens to piss you off, serious or not, you go on this goddamn rampage. Then it's just hillarious to me, that you or people get so bent out of shape about words on an anonymous message board.
BTW, nice damn catch by Edmonds while I'm writing this...wow. And he didn't even slow down to make it look better than it was like usual.

I always hum he's an ass**** he's an ass**** he's an aaaaaass****
That DB kid is still great in my book!
I've never liked Dennis Leary's work, so I guess that's where the problem/misunderstanding is.

I wrote the book on having internet stalkers. I am more hated then a ham sandwich in the Visual Concepts breakroom. I have been called a Nazi more times then Hitler and Hitler more times then there were Nazis. Yet still here I am blathering away on a forum.
Looks like everyone has decided to give peace a chance!
I am getting all veclempt... Talk amongst yourselves. Here is a subject: Roger Clemens, what team does he go into the Hall of Fame with?

DB:
I can see where the friction comes in...I'm the exact opposite of you where about 90% of the stuff I post, I'm being absolutely serious. I respect and thank you for the explanation...it really sheds some light.
With that said, I'm sorry if it seems like I go off on you sometimes...that's not my intent either. I come here for the "mature vibe" and some of your remarks (in your defense, you're not the only one) seem really out of place (to me). I've worked in environments (military and government investigations) where "being a d*ck" and "talking sh*t" wasn't put up with, so I guess I'll need to check in that mindset when I come to these boards.
Anyways, no harm, no foul.

I would think the Yankees... man, they're going to have a lot of guys in the HOF over the next couple of decades....
Roger Clemens, Mariano Rivera and Alex Rodriguez are 100% certain to go into the HOF, although I guess a lot could happen with A-Rod's team status.
Derek Jeter is about 90-95% sure, the only thing that can stop him is a bus.
Bernie Williams I would put just under the 50% line, but he can make a pretty good case depending on how his career ends. Has a *lot* of postseason records.
Mike Mussina I would say 35%. Longevity will tell the tale.
Gary Sheffield is very difficult to assess. I would say 30% at this point. He and Bernie will have to face the raised standards caused by the bandbox parks.

It is my belief that players can no longer choose what team they go in to the HOF with. I would have to imagine that they will put him in with a Bosox cap on his head.

You're correct... however, the reason why the Hall reserves the right (actually, from what I understand they always had the right, they just never exercised it) is because of deals like Wade Boggs, who supposedly had some kind of wheels-off stipulation in his contract that he would go in as a Devil Ray. MLB didn't want HOF caps to be used as free agent bargaining. So basically the reserve the right to step in when someone has played a zillion games of their career but wants to go in with a team they played 50 games for. They won't have a problem with Clemens, who accomplished a lot in NY. Look no further than Nolan Ryan and the Rangers hat he wears for proof of that.
