Meh. A safe and boring choice. A better alternative would have been a number of young and up and coming stars to grace the cover. But honestly, I haven't cared who's on the cover of a sports video game in probably 20+ years.

what a s*** show. they had their first gameplay trailer and they've added some upgrades here and there but it's the same damn game last 4 years.

it's funny on the stream SDS says they've listened to the loyal players. bullshit. EVERYONE in the chat was saying UPGRADE THE GRPAHICS. even long time players in the official show forums and reddit are all pissed about having these ps3 era graphics. It's like the elephant in the room. And they completey ignored it in the stream presentation.

'we listen to our players' my ass. when the one thing that's so obvious they completey ignore.

Some nice franchise stuff, but I'm not sure it's $70 worth for me at release this year.

I usually buy every year but think I will pass this year and just stick with playing 25. No improvement in graphics and watched a few videos on gameplay improvements and just not enough to justify buying this year.

so this content creator who's pretty good for mlb the show compared the graphics from mlb the show 16 vs mlb the show 25.

mlb the show 16 looks better!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qqERHC84Hk

I don't have 16 but i still own 17 on disc. I loved 17. it was one of the best show games if not the best on PS4 (21 was the best, 20 was solid too).

I may just install 17 and play that instead of buying 26. Let's see.

They had the college gameplay feature stream today. OMG THIS LOOKS RIGHT OUT OF PS2/PS3 ERA GRAPHICS. HOLY s*** IT'S BAD!

Sad thing is I'll probably still buy this pile of s*** on release.

I watched all the videos over the past week or so…do it every year. The graphics are fine. They are a B grade for me. Do they need improvement - sure. I would rather gameplay and mode improvements and the ones they have announced are nice. Upgrading the graphics engine is much more of an undertaking than most realize. All over YouTube you have content creators bitching about the graphics and people (maybe not you) are swallowing it like candy. It’s like political talking points to get clicks/clout. Perhaps they are working on a new graphics engine but that is not something that falls into their one year cycles. Ball physics look great, RTTS improvements look great, animations (which are HUGE for me) look great, upgrades to PCI options look great, Franchise improvements look great. I will absolutely upgrade because, even with its shortcomings, it the best sports video game/sim out there (obviously my opinion).

I agree that there's enough new changes to warrant my excitement about this year's game. Of course, I would love an update in the visuals, but to compare them to PS3 or early PS4 graphics is definitely short sighted. That said, I'd be lying if I didn't wish they looked more comparably to Pro Spirits Baseball 2024-2025. I love the pitching and batting animations in this game and I've been going back and forth considering purchasing the game.

I will always be loyal to The Show. I was a High Heat enthusiast on the PC back in its hay day and when The Show arrived it was like heaven. It was the closest thing to HH so I fell in love with it. I actually turned one of the guys at the old High Heat site onto The Show and he ended up being the big Full Roster creator over at Operation Sports. It’s bugging me that I can’t remember his name! OS actually did a feature column on him a few years back and he gave me a shout out for recommending him The Show.

The guys name was Knight. Every year he would make a roster set of Full Minors so each team had their real AA and AAA prospects. Good dude. He would work his ass off on those things. Knight was a legend there for a while.

i was a big HH player too. HH2003 was one of the best sports video game I ever played and on par with MVP2005 for me.

The Show WAS the best sports videogame for years. but I think from MLBTS 22 or 23 onwards, it's been stagnant or regressed in many ways. They changed management during that time and it shows. They no longer have the reputation of the cream of the crop of sports games since this new team took over. It feels more like they're running their business like EA would.

The stuff they're showing now as innovation could have just been a $10 DLC on MLBTS 25.

“Was” is your opinion, and that’s fine. I’m a baseball guy so I’m going to obviously lean towards The Show. I play all the sports games, Madden, NBA2K, NHL, etc and, for me, The Show is still #1. To each his own though.

I still play Hight Heat 2004 on my Retroid Pocket G2. Such a fun game, even to this day.

High Heat was a great game/series, FPS Baseball Pro 96 is still my favorite baseball game of all time, all those baseball classic songs when the game loaded up brings up so many memories of this classic.

can you tell me how this is possible? is it from an emulator?

I still have the original hh2003 and hh2004 discs somewhere in the garage. 2003 was better because I remember 2004 they slowed the pitching motion down. But both games were really good.

those songs were from these 2 baseball CD's called 'Baseball's Greatest Hits'. I owned both of them and they had incredible songs.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball% ... atest_Hits

For a baseball nerd, this stuff was like your favorite rock band releasing their greatest hits.

But I ask you MizzouRah - Whoooo were the Saint Lou-is Browns? Tell us what you found?
