Finally! A good game in the 2017 NFL Playoffs.
Happy to see Dallas lose. Yeah, I'm still bitter about the Cowboys' two victories over the Bills in the Super Bowl. I will be until the Bills win a Super Bowl, so the chances are good I'll pupate from an angry middle-aged man into an angry old man.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
The MVP of that game was the line judge. GREAT call to overrule the field judge on that crucial catch that set up the game-winning field goal.
We love to rip the NFL refs, with good reason. But that was a good job well done by the line judge.

You're on to something. Rodgers is playing fantastic football, but GB's secondary looked quite vulnerable in the second half. Ryan could litter it with pellet holes.MizzouRah wrote:Best game so far, but I think Atlanta is the team to beat.

Two good games today after the first six games of the NFL Playoffs were pure sh*t. Normal service restored!

Don't know that I've ever seen it that high. Probably 53ish.pk500 wrote:Has anyone seen an over-under posted by Vegas? I'm thinking at least 60.dbdynsty25 wrote:50-48 game next week. Defense optional in Falcons and Packers.
Edit I stand corrected:
The over-under for that game opened at a ridiculous 58.5 at the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook. The total almost immediately jumped up to 60.5, indicating a heavy early influx of money on the over.

Just saw a Vegas O/U for that game: 60.5. Highest O/U in history, according to this story: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-p ... ric-total/dbdynsty25 wrote:Don't know that I've ever seen it that high. Re: NFL 2016/2017
Common thread for victors of all eight NFL playoff games this season: The team with the better QB won. No Trent Dilfer magic carpet rides this season.
Who is performing better now in Brady vs. Roethlisberger and Ryan vs. Rodgers matchups? Need to chew on this for a while.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
Big Ben is not Big anymore. I really don't know if I'd even take him over Alex Smith at this point. Dude holds the ball too long and threw a bunch of ducks tonight. There's a reason they only kicked field goals tonight. AB and LB make him look like he's still great. He's not.
Pats and Falcons advance.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
Falcons' D is not any better, and still very young so both teams will be litting up the sky in the dome. Should ATL advance, would it be considered an upset? I don't think so. But they certainly will need the services of JJ who left the game late in the game. But the way Rodgers is playing, he's like a man possessed. The reason Cowboys made a great comeback in the second half was definitely more credit to ZAK and his receivers. How about that OL? The way Ezequiel put that spin on Matthews...Wow.pk500 wrote:You're on to something. Rodgers is playing fantastic football, but GB's secondary looked quite vulnerable in the second half. It's definitely the year of the QB's.
Re: NFL 2016/2017
If Dallas can take one thing away from yesterdays loss is that Dak Prescott is legit and he's on his way to being a superstar in the league. And just think that Jerry Jones wanted to trade up to land Paxton Lynch and was even considering Johnny Football before landing Prescott in the 4th round.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
The NFL is no doubt very upset that Dallas is out. The SB is in Texas. No team travels like the Cowboys.
What do you guys think is the dream matchup for the NFL, considering the 4 remaining teams? No doubt NE and someone. I'd have to say NE/GB would be what they would pick. Then we would be treated to 2 solid weeks of people sucking off Brady and Rodgers, and going back and forth who the greatest ever is. There are no winners in the 2 weeks between the championship games and the Super Bowl.
I like GB over ATL if they can get some of their players back.

You're right and Green Bay is on quite a win streak.. I just think Atlanta's offense is similar to the Rams "greatest show on turf" offense years ago.pk500 wrote:

Re: NFL 2016/2017
One way to look at it. Another is both he and Elliot stepped into the perfect team as rookies. Best Offensive line in the league which never gets called for holding. Stud WR and TE, plus a good backup core of WR's Sometimes players look better because of their situation. McFadden rushed for 1000 yard lats years behind that line. Kapernick looked like a sure thing after one year. I think Dak is going to be good but I want to see it next year as well.Rodster wrote:If Dallas can take one thing away from yesterdays loss is that Dak Prescott is legit and he's on his way to being a superstar in the league. See...They did the thing for the three straight years before that retarded c*** martz blew it up...
Three straight years of 500 points at a time when it had been done five other times total.
NO comparison.
P.S.
Where is the Faulk component?
Not there .
Move on.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
That's what I was going to mention. Faulk was the key to make that offense so prolific. He could lineup out wide and was a good enough route runner to be a CB. He could lineup in the backfield and elude LBs. The the magic came in flipping that script. If teams had LBs in to stop the run, the moved him outside, where he would destroy a LB. If they put in an extra DB, then they could run and take advantage.XXXIV wrote:

Once they had the defense overthinking, they could get the ball all over the field looking for mismatches. It was brilliant. Yes, Bruce and holt were fantastic receivers, but it was Faulk that opened everything up so wide.
Martz f***ed it up by thinking the toys were more important than the OL. He also called his own plays, and the result was not knowing what was going on in the bigger picture, causing him to screw up clock management, not know who is hurting, and complete obliviousness to the defense.
He was a great OC, but the Rams should have let him walk and learn to be a HC somewhere else. They had the pieces for a dynasty that anyone would want to take over. And they went with Martz, who lacked any meaningful experience, which was a slap win the face to Vermeil, who understood there was a lot more to winning a championship than an ace OC.
And with the hiring of McVay, they show that they still don't understand.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
I would agree.. Faulk was the key for sure.
Pushing Vermeil out was a horrible mistake and the start of the demise in St. Louis for the Rams.
