This is a bummer.
Sager was known for his wild wardrobe, but he was a fine, smart, fair sideline reporter who greatly enhanced my enjoyment of NBA telecasts. Man, the verbal spars with Pop were legendary!
But I admire Sager most for his bravery in two vicious fights against cancer. The basketball world is diminished today.
P.S.: I had no idea before today that Sager was one of the few reporters at home plate in Fulton County Stadium when Hank Aaron came home after his record 715th home run. And Sager was wearing a long, white coat! Stylish, even back then.
