Thanks for this. I still have both the guitar and drums, so all I need is the disc and this adapter.

Does the legacy content include any on-disk songs from Rock Band 1/2/3, or is it only stand-alone DLC songs we bought?

This thread on the Harmonix forums says you need to have exported the previous RB games to RB3 to obtain a license which will carry over to RB4.

The Game Stop near me has a demo of GH. The guitar is pretty nice. I like it better than the old ones. Hoping to try out RB as well as the game itself appeals to me more than the online live channels of GH.

Played a few songs but I am having trouble with my purchased DLC from the 360. According to the instructions you search thru all the DLC add ons. I must have about 50 purchased songs and while I may not remember them, I do know that I should have the likes of Van Halen, Queen, Coldplay etc. Yet when I find those artists, everything is showing still with a price to purchase instead of the 'Install' option as HMX explains it, if you made indeed the purchase from previous RB.

To verify what guys own, go to your 360 (or I assume Xbox.com) and look through your download history. Every game, demo, and DLC you bought will be there.

Yeah, checked there as well and it's only showing all the digital games that I purchased. The DLC's are not showing.

I saw someone post that you have to click on the $1.99 song and then it should tell you that it's already a purchased song.

That may be it but according to their website the option 'Install' should show up if you previously bought the song. For example I bought a Fleetwood Mac song today by clicking the $1.99 price and hoping that I would see the 'bought already' or install option. Nope. Ended up being charged for it and I a pretty sure that I got their whole pack already.

You may have a problem. All of my songs are absolutely listed in my downloads. I just spent an afternoon redownloading them onto my 360 when I decided to see if my old guitars were any good (they weren't).

Are you sure what account you used to buy them?

This, if it's the same as Forza 6. I paid for the Ultimate Edition and when the new car packs are released I have to click on the pack which has a price next to it. When I go to buy it tho it says it's already purchased and I can just download from there.

Did you resolve this issue? I got the game recently and went to download some old songs and like you, all I see are $1.99 tags for songs I know I bought in the past. Not sure how to proceed.

Its very disappointing how the songs are listed. As far as I can see, they're in no order, and just individual songs with no albums or bundles, and no way to list them by band, alphabetically, by any category at all. What a mess!

Yeah Zeppo, no luck on my end really. As I posted before there are some Queen songs that I pretty much know I have bought before yet when I am prompted to DL again the price still shows up. So in a couple of instances I was hoping that buy clicking the actual price the install option would appear or some kind of message that I bought it before, but instead I ended up paying for the same songs.

As you mentioned, everything seems a bit cluttered with solo songs without giving the consumer the choice to choose it by bundles, albums, what not. So for now, I've just been playing the songs that this generation came with.

The Xbox store doesn't have all of the songs if that is where you are looking, you have to go in the game and click get more songs and you have the options of browsing by artist, title, packs, albums, genre or difficulty.

Thanks Vader. It only seems to work from within the game. Unfortunately Albums and Packs don't seem to exist, but I scrolled through and got the songs I'd purchased (at least the ones that were there - I have no idea if I'm missing some).

However, is there any way to get the songs from the old games that were not DLC? Has anyone figured out how to or if one even can get the songs that were on the discs for RBs 1,2, and 3? A quick glance at my library revealed that several of my favorite RB songs are not in RB4.

I got this for Christmas, and I am so completely sucked back in. I beat an Impossible-level song on Expert drums (St. Vincent's "Birth in Reverse") and felt the same sense of silly yet ecstatic accomplishment the first time I ever finished a Keith Moon-Who track on Expert.

Has there been any word on whether the disc-based songs from RB 1-3 will be available? I saw the list Vader posted, but the Xbox store has a lot of the old songs listed as "Bundle only," which makes me think they will be available at some point.

Rock Band 3 is available now, think it was $15. Harmonix said the imports for the others should start showing up in January.

I had the same experience as you, although nowhere near the expert level. It was a lot of fun strumming along with some of my favorite songs again.

Thanks, Dave, I did find the RB 3 export and downloaded it today. Will be awesome to get RB1 and especially RB2 songs into the game.

I have been having fun with the Freestyle Solos with the guitar, too. They don't work as well for me when there's a short solo, but for songs where the solos are longer, I'm really having a blast playing around with the different sounds.

I took my fantasy football winnings and purchased the whole RB 4 band in a box and the additional drum cymbals. We played the heck out of RB over the years and our old equipment is toast.

Excited to start playing again, I guess I'll rack up an additional $100 on songs. :)

Well I had been having all sorts of issues trying to play this game with the lag as I couldn't get the video calibration figured out, the auto calibration worked fine on the audio delay but the auto video calibration would never complete and constantly felt off. Also had problems where the guitar would just quit responding midway through a song and found out there was a firmware update for it and after applying it, everything works fine now finally. Was only planning on playing for about a hour yesterday afternoon but that turned into a 3 hour session. :)

They also released the RB1 disc import for the PS4 on Friday, they say it will be available for Xbox users soon so hopefully it gets released sometime this week.

I just think it's so neat to go into the store via inside the game and see songs we have purchased over the years and just click on them and select install. Well done!!!
