Re: It's Hockey Night- Season 14-15
It was a grind for both teams after the triple OT and travels. Not the prettiest game by any stretch and Ducks hugged the neutral zone tightly. The last two minutes must have felt like an eternity for ANA, icing the puck 3 times, Perry breaking his stick and Kane with a clear chance with 4 seconds left on a broken play.
The speed of the Ducks defense was at par with the speed of the Hawks forwards limiting their chances.
Expecting a better game 4 from both teams.

Very true. Hawks were fortunate in game 2 as I thought Ducks played better that night.XXXIV wrote:Ill say it again you are unlucky not to be up 3-0.TCrouch wrote:Wow. I'm not sure I could take much more tonight.

It's too bad they didn't know the game started 10 minutes before they did.

If it wasn't for crow should've been 4-1 final score.10spro wrote:Very true. Hawks were fortunate in game 2 as I thought Ducks played better that night.XXXIV wrote:Ill say it again you are unlucky not to be up 3-0.TCrouch wrote:Wow. I'm not sure I could take much more tonight.

Both Goalies have been brilliant.
Does that make me a Duck fan or a Chicago fan.

Crazy. Can't be that the Ducks are a halfway decent team or anything...

The two best teams in each conference are in the semis. Sometimes the other team is just better that night.
Re: It's Hockey Night- Season 14-15
It was a hell of a mental feat for the Ducks to bounce back from that marathon game, travel and then win a road game. Hell, I wasn't ready when the puck dropped yesterday!
That said, it's a maxim of fans the world over and in all sports that the quality of the other team is never the issue.
With that in mind, I though it was insane for Q to sit Teuvo. He hasn't lit up the stat sheet, but he has developed a nice rapport with Sharp and they were among the more threatening players down the stretch in Game 2. Fresh legs or not, I don't see Nordstrom bringing anything to the table at all.
The lack of blue line depth is obviously the problem, and there's not much anyone can do about it at this point. Just have to pick up the bit and get at it again.

Even at #5 on the depth chart they obviously miss the services of Roszival. Besides that, they haven't matched the physicality of the Ducks and their D speed is quite underrated. My only doubt in the beginning of the playoffs was the position between the pipes for ANA, but Andersen has silenced those critics.RobVarak wrote:The lack of blue line depth is obviously the problem, and there's not much anyone can do about it at this point. Hawks will need to win the next one, it's almost a must game, you don't want to be trailing 1-3 going to ANA.
And yeah, they have to score first, Ducks are pretty lethal when they do that.
Re: It's Hockey Night- Season 14-15
The toughest part is if it's even close heading into the 3rd period. The Hawks have got to be leading by 2 for them to feel comfortable, because a single goal, Anaheim almost always finds some freakish way to pull it out.
There's a huge difference between this Ducks team and the past years. Early in the season when games were close it had me pretty tense. As they continued to just get it done in the 3rd, some sort of change occurred in how I watch them. Now, if it's even or they're down by a goal, I still think they'll win. If they're up by a goal, I figure there's no way they're going to lose.
Kane gave me flashbacks to the past couple years at the end of game 3, though. I can't see how Chicago loses game 4, unless their bodies are just hurting like hell from the pounding Anaheim has put on them. But all it takes is one guy to take one for the team for another to be wide open. They just have to start burying some of those chances they have, and not ringing them off of the post.
It's a fantastic series so far. Everything I hoped it would be, which has to be cool for fans of both teams, after cakewalks in the first 2 rounds for both sides.
