Anyone up for a 100-lapper tonight at Indy?

Post by pk500 »

Boys:

Anyone interested in a half-distance (100 laps) race tonight at Indy in IndyCar Series 2005? 10:30 p.m. (EDT), I can host.

Pro skill level, no autodrive, all flags on.

AI cars? Not sure, especially if someone has proven that they cause problems in XBL racing or if we already have enough human players.

Qualifying? Again, not sure, especially if someone has proven that qualifying causes problems.

I think it would be a blast, as fuel and pit strategies really start to play a bigger effect in longer races.

Please reply here if you're interested. I think it would take roughly 90 minutes, including practice.

And I'd appreciate any and all guidance on whether to include AI cars and/or qualifying.

Looking forward to it!

Take care,
PK

Piggy:

Knew I could count on you, you sick bastard. :)

Keep your eyes peeled here around 7:15 p.m. (PDT, your time). I'll check then to see what kind of response this race has received. I won't run it unless we get at least five human racers. Half-distance is too long of a race for any fewer.

Thanks,
PK

I've been having a great day racing today. I've seen very few disconnects (none for me), no lockup complaints, with autodrive, ai adjust and handicapping off a lot of problems have gone away. I would add some AI cars if I was you PK. Oh and yes, I'll be there.

That's three ... two more sick f*cks, hopefully more, and we're racing!

Again, I'll decide at 10:15 p.m. (EDT). If five drivers are signed and confirmed, we're green. Otherwise, we'll scrap it for another time.

Take care,
PK

I'm doing fine with the controller. I have never used a wheel. You can't talk with a wheel so that takes a lot away from the experience.

I'm exhausted, got next to no sleep last night and was up at 6:30, played golf today in a very high wind and for some reason this has knocked me out and I really need to sleep.

So, assuming that I can get my Xbox live connection to work (I'm at my parents house) I'll join you boys.

However, if there is messup like last time, with people sitting at the side of the track (when they're actually not sitting there) I'm going to disconnect from the race and go to bed.

I would but I won't be home tonight. If anyone is up for a race after the 100 lapper is over, around midnight eastern, just send me an invite.

Two Tones is the one who said he'll be there. x STARR x is in the UK and probably won't be up that late/early.

PK,

I'm going to play my final round for the first "test" links tourney. Then a little master class in ICS. I should be there about 8:45 MST. If you guys have started I'll just continue with the master class and call it a night.

I have about a 50/50 chance of showing. The wife and I are planning to watch Rally Turkey but she's feeling a little under the weather. If she wants to postpone watching the rally then I'll log in for the race.
