I won't. The fact that I don't like them has nothing to do with it. Until they show me some guts in the playoffs I'm not on board. Crosby IS at another level though. Fun to watch him do all the little things.

I think that's a little harsh.

In 2009 they won the cup. In 2010 they lost in 7 in the second round. 2011 first round exit but that was without Malkin and Crosby if I recall. 2012 they were a good team but the Flyers were in their heads and the Pens lost their cool (Crosby wasn't 100% either).

It also seems to me the 2013 team is clearly better than the 2009 team.

Yeah, this team is better. My only worry is with Letang who's injured again and had some history with concussion issues and Fleury who just got his bell rang recently. He's been playing better than last season and is on top of his game again. Vokoun is more than a capable back up. Their best acquisition before Iggy last night was James Neal. They are very deep now, ready for another Cup but let's not forget that they sucked for a long time before getting to where they are now.

FWIW, apparently the offer tendered by the Bruins was exactly the same one offered by the Pens organization in fact some will argue that the prospects were slightly better on the BOS side. So it came up to Iginla to choose and of course who wouldn't like to be playing along side Malkin or Crosby.

Maybe it's because I'm a Pirates fan and am also familiar with the Steelers pre-dynasty work but 4 losing seasons (5 if you consider they would have most likely had a losing record in the cancelled season) isn't a long time. :o

I'm very happy with the moves, but there are certainly a lot of worthy challengers for the Cup out there.

As an Oilers' fan, I despise the Flames. But Jarome Iginla is pure class. I hope he can hoist the Cup for the first time this June with Pittsburgh.

Well last night it was reported that Crosby only lost a couple of teeth from getting hit with the puck and now today it's reported that he is out indefinitely with a broken jaw.

Canucks added a much needed centreman in Derek Roy as they struggled all year long in that position due to injuries, but what they need now is a QB to direct the inept PP and maybe another forward or two. I' ll miss Bobby Lou eventually whether a deal gets done by tomorrow or during the summer.

The bruins show the world what pigs they are again.

Lucic cross checks a player in the back of the head while he lies face down on the ice? Its disgusting watching this filth play. They are bettman's monster....the mother f***in piece of s*** should be arrested. Instead I am sure bettman will be sucking his cock later tonight.

Who hits a guy who is lying on the ice in the back of the head with his stick?

These fucks need to be put down. All of them.

On the bright side. The Habs defeat the filth that only a "shark" fan could love yet again 2-1.

LETS GO HABS!!!!

f*** you NHL!

With about 2 weeks to go, Booth still out and Malhotra forced to retire, this is as healthy as I've seen VAN all year long with Kesler coming back tonight against the Yotes. And what a difference a presence like Kesler makes as the remaining guys start to finally slot into their original positions and the center position is no longer a weakness with the addition of Roy last week.

Number 17 even scored a goal in his comeback but the guy that's been red hot while keeping the 'Nucks close in games is Corey Schneider with another SO.

I gotta learn NOT to talk about Canucks health issues anymore. Just as I was mentioning the team getting close to full health, Chris Higgins who's been playing his best hockey in an orca uniform and C. Tanev are gone for the season and only probable for the playoffs run after last night's game.

Man oh man...... Mac T? Really? I guess once they get to "former Oiler" on the resume, they stop looking. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I would have liked if they had gone in a different direction and gotten someone non-Oiler again, but this time someone who is good.

Hopefully I'll be proven wrong......... in any event, I won't have to worry about staying up late during the playoffs again this year......

About damn time Tambi was fired. But how does this team expect to improve by hiring or promoting retreads like MacT and Howson to upper management jobs?

Katz should have made a clean sweep. Lowe needed to be fired, too. He MUST have pictures of Katz.

What a pathetic comeback by Lowe to the reporter. How many Stanley Cups have you won since your management career started? ZERO.

Just got back fom the Rog arena where the 'Nuckers took the extra point in a SO and frankly didn't deserved to. The Wings are playing for their lives fighting for the last spot in the West and simply out worked a depleted and tired home team. If DET continues to play hard, I still think that they can squeeze in the last spot as they have a game in hand over the Jackets.

Datsuyk and Zetterberg may have lost a step but their skill set is just irreplaceable.

With the win, Canucks are in the post season again but unless the injured get back and they play with more emotion, they'll exit quickly in the first round.

It took 46 games but last night it was easily Canucks' best game of the season yet in beating CHI 3-1. They were dominant from the get go, maybe it was the rivalry with the Blackhawks, maybe it was Higgins coming back from his knee injury, but the second line finally took shape. Good debut by rookie D-man F. Corrado as the blue line is still short of bodies but I've been looking for this performance from VAN the entire year and it just wasn't there.

Huge game tonight for the Jets vs the Caps in their quest for the last spot in the East. Wings did what they had to do last night, the fight for the 8th spot in both conferences is going to go to the wire.

They got a gift last night, and are getting their tails kicked by a bad Blue Jackets team. I feel comfortable counting them out of the playoffs this year.
Normally, the Wings are the ones that get the bad calls against them.

I guess we'll see who's prediction is correct in about 3 months.
That's why they play the games.
Well, my prediction came true tonight with the Wings 3-0 win over the Stars tonight: 22 consecutive years reaching the playoffs. That is the record for any North American sports franchise. 8O

Thankfully, my team will be playing the Ducks instead of the Hawks in the first round.
