This is the first thing I thought of as well. Unfortunately, I think it speaks to our advanced ages. :)
It makes it easier for you guys to take naps after your moves. :D
HA! I downloaded Defense Grid: The Awakening a few days ago, and realized I loved it so much because I could set things up, then sit and watch...lol. Yeah, we're getting old... :D

CFL

that's right, I'm talking Canadian Football League, you know 65yd wide field 110yd long field, and the 25yd long Endzones. All sports at one time have had a virtual representation, even Aussies rule football is available, why not the CFL?
What a fun and I mean fun game of football that would be. But it never made it before and it would a glorious chance for a company like 2K to take over the franchise and start something. Although very doubtful at this point, I would love to see it become reality.
I agree with you here. When 2K lost the NFL license, this should have been the next logical step. I'm guessing the budget was still there, they should have tested the market to see if it would be logical todo so. I'm not sure if Americans like/watch Canadien football, but I've always enjoyed it.

This + 3 (for me and my two kids!)

I pop in 1 and 2 on occasion, and my kids play them all the time. I thought this series always sold really well, too, so it's sorta inexplicable why we never got one for this generation. And now, of course, it will be developed by someone other than Pandemic if it ever does come out.

I would also like more turn-based strategy, but HA!
Once again I am guilty of not thinking hard enough about the question. This one also.

This game had such a great balance of crazy action, teamwork and strategy, and pure fun without getting bogged down in one-shot headshot kills from across the map or persistent leveling of gear and special equipment.

Why they haven't followed up with a modern version is unfathomable to me. The license surely still holds plenty of punch, and the mix of the Battlefield style setup and more, dare I say, RPG style character type differences is not seen anywhere else. How awesome was it when you earned the right to be randomly selected as a Jedi, and could go nuts on the enemy, leading your teammates to capture checkpoint after checkpoint before finally being brought down by a heroic effort by the other side? Or the asymmetry, one of my favorite elements, of being in a big AT-AT on Hoth picking off poor defenseless ground soldiers, or being in a snow speeder trying to take it down?

And it hit at just the best time for this crowd to be online a ton, night after night for months, it seemed. Why not a good XBLA updated version, a là Battlefield 1943? How awesome would that be?

One other thing I miss that has been lacking is the type of racing the ToCA games allowed. In many ways, the F1 game sets up much better for what I wanted to do with the MLR race series we did, but ToCA's breadth of car types, from go karts all the way to licensed pro series such as Aussie V8s and DTMs is just not happening on this generation.

Spot-on. And TOCA was a racing game, not a car-collecting and ghost-lapping game like Forza 4 or GT5.

I'd bet almost anything that there are licensing reasons for not doing a follow up to Battlefront.

Gametrailers TV is going to have an announcement of a new Star Wars franchise tonight on their pre E3 show, speculation has been anywhere from a new Battlefront game to a Boba Fett bounty hunter game.

I miss Football Pro and Bass Pro from the PC days. I wish there was a good head coaching game for the iPad because I think it could do well there.

This may turn into a nostalgia thread. :)

we used to get a real good crowd for "pro fishing challenge" on xbox , that was real fun while it lasted a real change of pace.

A new fishing game with solid ai should be real do able about now dont you think?

Im sure Ill get picked on but I played the snot out of Brunswick Circuit Pro bowling on the Playstation. You had qualifying rounds all the way up to stepladder finals. Great physics as well. Should be easy to do with the current gen but the only decent bowling is for the wii.

Miss the heck out of college hoops.

Would love a high school hoops or football game with a lot of freedom to create teams/divisions/edit uniforms.

YES. With true online play, or at least strong co-op. What a GREAT game.

It really is. I never got to play 'Ten Hammers', but I'd like to play it, too. Found a copy of FSW on Ebay for 14.99, brand new, still in the shrink wrap. There's a distinct pull to get it. LOVED that game. LOVED it.

I played Ten Hammers on the PC. Not as good as the original because it allowed players to fire their weapons. FSW:TH turned into more of a routine FPS than a tactical game like FSW.

GR:FS underwhelmed me, but my favorite part of the game was the FANTASTIC new move-and-cover system, which reminded me so much of FSW. Hell, I think it was a blatant ripoff of FSW. Not a bad system to imitate.

If you liked that cover system, and want something even MORE similar to FSW, you need to pick up one of the GR:AW games. You still control one guy directly, you get to order your fireteams to cover almost exactly like FSW. Plus, they're both REALLY cheap... :D
