Sigh. Added 10 strokes to my score at R3 of the Masters.

I don't know how many times I putted the ball past the hole as far, or further, then what I started.

Shot a 3 under 69 in my 4th round to get to +6 for the tournament. I went 8 Maybe 9 over on #15 alone in the 3rd & 4th rounds. WATER. Drained a 70+ foot put on #17 in my final round. I should've/could've been better but oh well. I have no clue how the top guys are -15 & -12. Unreal.

The Masters was tough but fun. I hit +8 in round 1, but then went +1, -1, -1. I could never get anything going because a 3-putt would always break up the momentum.

The conditions at Kiawah were a good break from that--flat, little wind.

Something else I am really enjoying about this year's game s the pace. It feels like I am finishing up 18 holes 20-30 minutes quicker than before.

If there is still a waiting list for the CC, I'd like to be put on it. I'm enjoying the game enough to be thinking abut it while I am not playing it.

Thanks, but the scores I am getting are all about course management and some fortunate bounces. I'll have some time later in the week to go online H2H with anyone who wants to. I'll be glad to share how I get around the course, but Ortho, Wilk and others are also VERY good at this game....

But there are a ton more honest impressions here that are much more influential.

One thing I'd like to see more is the effectiveness of putting while on the fringe. Matt Kuchar just putted on the 13th hole during the Masters from below the fringe and almost made an eagle on that hole. If I tried that with my putter it would have gone perhaps only a maximum of 2 feet even at full swing. There are scenarios where I fill more comfortable putting outside the greens than just chipping it and whether I have enough attributes XP's yet on the putter or not, I'd like to see it being more effective from the fringe.

Watching the final round of the Masters today after so many virtual rounds the past week is such a treat. Those greens are so familiar to me now...

You guys must have been in the zone :). Awesome scores. Course management is definitely key at Augusta. I was stupid enough to try for the green in two TWICE at 15 (felt like Tin Cup all over again). Even though I could tell it was probably 80%-20% I wouldn't make it. I figured I would gamble and try and get the eagle chance. I lost :(. Still a very fun 4 rounds.

I putt from the fringe all the time and have no trouble with getting the ball to the hole.....and my putting attributes are currently at 56.

I have gotten a few Hit the Stick points from putting from the fringe, since the flag is still in. You just have to hit it a little harder.

Inspired by the Masters today, I went out and shot my best round in one of our daily tournaments. A -4 at Eastlake CC. Finishing a shot better than Ortho just made my weekend!

I switched to the right stick this weekend and my game has improved dramatically.

Hmmm...I tried to switch to right stick before and when I tried any of the country club stuff it switched back to left stick and when you're in a tourney you cannot change it. Guess I need to figure out how to make it stick.

If you are using your CAG, you can switch it anytime, before or during the game. If you are using a Pro, I think it defaults to the left stick, but you can always try to change it in the Gameplay Options menu while in game.

I went into that 4th round at Augusta and was -3 after 2 holes. I had it to -21 until the last hole and totally came apart. If I could have just parred I might have had a chance.

That was a very fun DSP Major!! Nice to see almost everyone in the OCC played as well.

Good job in the daily Leadfoot!!

That was a very frustrating finish to a very frustrating tournament. I'm sure as hell glad the real Masters was more fun than that.

Good grief, I suck.

I'm not sure how long I'll be able to endure tournament difficulty, if my dude doesn't improve in his @#$%ing putting and short game soon. I swear, if I try to finesse a short shot or putt, it goes 3 feet. If I give it the slightest more oomph, I knock it over the damned green. I just don't get it.

How the @#$% do I get better at this?

My Driver was everywhere at East Lake today. I tend to come totally unglued in the last 3-4 holes on the dailies. Caught in the bushes, going for a swim on the 17th misjudging the wind, aargh. +3.

I think I said this previously, but this game is just a case of "The Emperor's New Clothes" for me. Granted I have been on vacation for a week, but I came back today and thought I would try to get in the Masters for the DSP Club. As much as I hate playing with the controller, I decided to man up and switch from playing with the Kinect, since no one else is using it and even Tim seems to have abandoned it for now. So I am horrible at it and shoot a +31 for Round 1. I experienced the weird placement bug 3 times during the round. So I start Round 2 and about 8 holes in, the game completely locks up on me. Not that it mattered, I was doing horribly, but I was just trying to play through the learning curve and figure the thing out. So I reboot the 360 and since I am done at Augusta now, I tried to do the Daily at Eastlake. This time I get to hole 15, lockup on the loading screen again. I have maybe played like a total of 6 rounds of golf since I got the game and have experienced this lockup 3 times. I also had it like twice in the preview. I still can't figure out what I am supposed to be doing with the controller, but I know that is just my issue to figure out. There must be a good game in there somewhere otherwise we would not have so many pages of praise. It really is frustrating to put in the time and lose your round or tournament to a freeze. I can't imagine how frustrating it is to those that are actually posting good scores and experiencing the lockup.

Completely understand the frustration. The freezes are causing us to set all tournaments for 2 tries in case someone gets cut off in mid-round. Makes it aggravating as hell whether you are playing well or not.

Teal,

If you ever want to hop online, I can work with you on your short game. It takes some finesses and some practice, but once you do so, it becomes pretty rewarding.

I was away last week on business and don't know what the hell happened to my game when I returned. I played the first round of the Masters on Friday night and at one point about half way through the round was even par and had my first eagle putt ever (still don't have one but have only reached a few greens in under regulation). I ended up with a double bogey on that hole and it just went downhill from there all weekend. I couldn't do anything right in one of the daily tourneys. I went into the water, OB, got stuck in a trap that took me 3 strokes to get out of, and missed putts in about every way possible.

I have two major problems at this point. I haven't been able to play more than the first Nationwide tournament, a few random play now rounds, and a couple sponsor challenges in career mode offline so I'm hurting for XP. I've got my power up to where I can hit it past the ladies tee, but except for putting all my other stats are at default low. So I can finally reach most greens in regulation but I rarely get makeable birdie putts. I am pretty darn good at pitching/chipping though so my overall putting numbers aren't horrible because I get a lot of close putts. The thing that hurts is a lot of those close putts are for par. My other major problem is putting too hard which leads to the other problem...putting too short.

It sounds like I'm complaining, but I love it. Other than the fact of broadcasting to the entire club how bad I am...LOL, I am really having a great time. I know that I could build my XP faster by playing at an easier level in career mode, but I'm loving the challenge and playing offline with the same settings as DSP. Over the weekend I even had a round of -2 offline! I can see me playing this for a LONG time.

Great round at East Lake, Divot! I played the front 9 at -1 and missed several scoring opportunities. Took full advantage on the back 9 as I went-5 coming back in.

Thanks, but it looks like JCauthen should be the one to be congratulated with the 59! Nice score John!
