I'll puke if the Eagles acquire Tebow. He is a BRUTAL QB. My opinion...Jesus aside.
Though it's really the same offense for Vick so having Tebow as a backup and fill-in for Vick would make sense.

And I can see Jax looking at Tebow to get as a way to sell season tickets and maybe even a stadium deal.
It makes no sense if you aren't actually a good professional QB. It doesn't matter what the offense is. When he throws the ball it looks like a shoe box in a rain storm. No amount of reasoning will change my mind. Maybe he can be the Eagles Chaplin for Sunday morning bible study. Then he'd be productive...maybe.

Exactly. No one wants them running their offense.

I don't get why people here think the Eagles offense is a perfect match for Tebow? The Eagles offense is all about the vertical passing game. Deep throws downfield to fats receivers in vertical routes. Vick has a huge arm and can throw an amazing deep ball. That's not something I'd say is true of Tebow. Sure, he fits the QB run option part of their package, but that's not the basis of their offense.

That's one thing a lot of people forget, besides being fast he's got a gun.

I have the crazy notion that Tebow can win games, but I agree with Zeppo regarding Tebow to the Eagles. They throw the ball more than anyone in the league, and use their speedy receivers to stretch the field. I don't think Tebow can get the ball around the field well enough, and that will nullify half of the Eagles offense.

I also imagine he and DeSean Jackson would become fast friends. :D

Any team that starts him would need some variation of the 2011 Broncos offense. They'd need good RBs who can also catch out of the backfield. It would also be helpful to have receivers who can run after the catch.

I actually think if the Jaquars could improve at WR, he wouldn't be a bad fit with MJD. Mercedes Lewis had a down year, but he's the right kind of TE to catch Tebow-style passes. I doubt Jacksonville would do something like trade a first-rounder for Mike Wallace, but an athletic guy like Jerome Simpson could be a decent cheap alternative. Plus Simpson could use a little Jesus in his life so he stops using his house like an Underground Railroad for weed.

The bigger issue is that I can't see a team winning the Super Bowl with Tebow as he is right now. He's just too limited in the passing game. With the right mix, he can win games, and he is pretty careful with the ball. Deeper into the playoffs, that lack of a consistent passing option really hurts.

I also think Jax is the best fit for him and Gator Nation is like 40 minutes away. That place would pack the house if Tebow played there. And the new owner knows it but his GM is against the idea. Not sure who'll win that argument. And Denver knows the value of Tebow to Jax.

Holy crap...apparently Bounty Gate pissed Goodell off.

Payton - suspended a year
Williams - suspended indefinitely
Loomis - 8 games and 500K
Saints as a hole, 500K and two 2nd round picks

Goodness that's steep.

And Tebow to the JETS!!!!!!!!! Woohoo! They now have the two worst QBs in the league!

Funniest line I've read so far from a Jets fan about Cromartie bitching about not wanting Tebow:

And believe me, I want nothing more than Tebow going to New York. Never mind the quarterback controversy, which would be great. You’d need the Hadron Particle Collider to measure the time between Sanchize’s first interception and the first “Te-BOW! Te-BOW!” chants. But can you imagine Tebow joining this Dysfunctional Family Circus? The world’s most eligible God-fearin’, Jesus Freak virgin, playing behind guy who bangs high school girls. Throwing to a wideout fresh out of jail. For a wife-swapping coach with a bizarre foot fetish. And having to take this kind of crap from a serial impregnator like the Father of Our Country here? A guy who held onto his blocker so he wouldn’t have to get steamrolled by Tebow on his game winning TD?

I think I have to take probably 20 minutes to digest all the great one-liners in this post.

Bravo, bravo!

My mind almost exploded from all of this.

Really didn't see the suspension coming for Payton. Figured he'd get a big fine and that would be it. But if you want to kill bounties, that's the way to do it.

I also cannot figure out Tebow to the Jets. They sign Sanchez to an extension, then immediately cause not only a QB controversy, but a culture war by bringing the Holiest QB in the league to the sinningest city in the NFL after New Orleans. And to a market that could give two shits about college football.

Kudos to the NFL for creating a worthy offseason sequel to last year's lockout drama.

lol. Prolly why Denver traded Tebow to the Jets, ie they know Tebow will be in position to do the least amount of harm in NYJ. :)

an intelligent organization would have selected Russell Wilson QB Wisconsin, via the upcoming draft. And wouldn't have signed Sanchez to an extension in the first place. However they're not. As the arrogant fatboy have his his fingerprints on all personnel moves.

At least the Jets have Sparano as their offensive coordinator. I mean he did bring the Wildcat to the NFL...but then again, as fast as it was introduced, it was scrapped since everyone caught on. Not sure if that's a plus or a minus now that I type this out. Either way, Tebow still sucks and it's good to see him on a division rival and I can continue to root for the mediocre to bad Miami Dolphins this season.

What do you mean mediocre? We got David Garrard! Woohoo!

Did you see how the fans were protesting outside the stadium? And Nick Buonocotti tore the owenership and front office apart as well. How long can they really keep Ireland around?

I regained some of the respect I had lost for Goodell. ....Its easy to suspend a felon or other scumbag player but a coach who has had his nut sacked licked by espn as much as Payton has over the last three years...Now that takes balls.

Payton knew about it and could have stopped it at anytime. At some point the buck has to stop with the asshole in charge. f*** him.

Sounds like Payton thought he was only going to get a 4-game suspension. . .but he's out the entire year and ~$8M.

Goodell is about to come on NFL Network.

In the previous segment they were talking about Payton trying to orchestrate some type of cover up before they were interviewed by the league.

Niceeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Goodell's statemnent is up on profootballtalk.com and he said this has been going on for 3 years and they have been denying it all along. Jim Rome this afternoon said that he heard the NFL had an idea what was going on and told them to stop it at least a couple of times and they continued denying it.

So Goodell had no choice but to drop the boom on the Saints. Maybe Brees will consider coming to Miami. :)

Hes on now and it appears the Saints (Payton) have not only been covering up for three years but that they kept doing it...

While being investigated for violating the league bounty policy you keep offering bounties ??!!

Thats awesome!!! :D

Gregg Williams is probably the best DC tha Rams have had since Lovie Smith. :P
