Menu pop-ups and shooting the basketball are mainly functions that are mapped to the right stick. And you also say that you have issues with unwanted camera view changes (press up on the directional pad)? Hmmm... I'm not totally sure since there is no visual evidence provided, but I think there really might be something wrong with parts of your controller failing to remain in neutral position unless you touch/move it. This problem would certainly explain the reason for you not being able to make a teammate cut before a shot goes up.

You're probably right. It's gotta be something on my end since I'm the only one having these issues. Maybe Santa will bring me a new controller.

I think part of the problem for at least PS3 users is that the player reaction and gameplay is a downgrade from 2K11 which was such a superb game. In my opinion the odd years for 2K have been better than the even years. I felt 2K9 was a great and better game than 2K10. It appears to be a two year developing stage.

Me too....

The NBA and MLB 2K series are known for stellar commentary. The reason why lexbur thinks the commentary is horrible is because the season hasn't started because when it does NBA Today is updated daily and the commentary feeds off of that. Right now he's just hearing generic commentary.

As soon as the NBA Season starts the commentary is incredible and they'll mention current events, trades, matchups, on going stats, and current game matchups within the commentary.

I mean, they kind of repeat the same stories, but as far as sounding like 3 guys together naturally talking about a game, it's unrivaled. And yes, it gets even better once NBA Today kicks in.

Worst commentary begins and ends with Madden. Madden 12 commentary sounds like two malfunctioning robots.

Well that's good to hear that it gets better when NBA Today kicks in. I've never played this NBA2K series before, so I wouldn't know.

I'm talking about the generic commentary that repeats itself every game that we're hearing now. If you're a Cavs fan trying to do a season, it's just BRUTAL. They spend half the game talking about LeBron leaving. The same thing over and over and over. After 20 games I couldn't take it anymore. No Cavs fan will want to listen to that 82 times.

I'm sure it's better for other teams.

I played the hell out of last years game and just opened up this years version -

1.Can you turn off that ugly presentation for the legends games? It really makes the game look like crap. I played the Jordan Challenge last year and it was nice and vibrant, this year the legends games look so dull. I really don't want a 80s looking tv telecast in a 2011 game.

2.While I saw that I got to say the B/W games from the 60s look damn cool. It's interesting playing w/o a 3 point line, seems to open up more of the court.

3.I guess no different versions of Phil Jackson or did I miss that? I liked last year how they had the late 80s porn stache phil and the later more dignified NBA champ coach Phil. Maybe i am missing it.

4.I finally played a game today todays age and it looked fantastic. I just wish they gave you an option to turn off the 80s telecast in the other games.

I still liked last years game so far, it was easier for me as I am not a huge X's and Os bball guy. I think I'll end up liking this years game with more time, but it is definitely more harder.

Seems with all the trades, etc. might as well not start an association until after Christmas.

Been playing this more and I can't believe how much better this game is than last years.

The flow is terrific. I always use to think the only thing holding this series back was it's sort of stiff and animation heavy flow, but this year it's so drastically improved.

Graphically, when not playing legends, the game looks awesome. The various sizes of each player are so well represented. Playing as the Celtics, you can definitely tell the difference between small speedy Rondo and Jermain Oneal with his big caboose hanging out. Love the commentary, better than FIFA imo, and that's hard to do. Presentation second to none, love the mini music video when the games start.

But the best thing, and EA take note of this when it comes to NHL, Madden, and FIFA, each team plays differently and the big stars do come up big in crunch time.

I didn't think FIFA could be topped this year, but this one is right up there or even better. Between this and FIFA, I have no time to play anything else. Whichever is in the system when I turn it on, pretty much gets the majority of my gaming time now.

Great times to be a sports gamer!

Now that my boys the Sixers have solidified the roster with Thad and Hawes I can't wait for the regular season to start to see if they update the schedule (did they announce anything"). Just playing NBA Today games will be a little juicier with the schedule on par with the real deal.

forgot to add the NBA2K12 Soundtrack is awesome

broken record time - it's sad that 2K can't make an NFL game.

added - GD! I am playing vs the Magic and the CPU keeps going to Howard. Couple of Alley Oops to him too, unstoppable! Monster rebounds too! This is exactly how the Magic should play. When I play the bulls, they play completely different.

Rodster, thanks for the link. I jumped on this for $10. I recently upgraded my PC graphics card and planned on ordering anyway. Was holding off until the season started, but couldn't pass on the deal.

Wow, thinking back I realize I haven't got into a basketball game since Inside Drive on the Xbox. Before that I was crazy about NBA Live 2000 on the PC - this one should be fun.

My friend and I were finally able to connect on PS3 after the new patch (though we had disconnects which may be related to non-default settings files). When it was working though, man was the gameplay sweet.

Yes I did.

It's basically the Blacktop mode but with legends.

You can play 2-2 or 3-3.

It's cool.

After I finished the 3-3 mode I did get a message that I was gonna be able to use the Legends on some mode, but don't remember which ones.

Your wife plays? That's awesome. My wife pretty much hates video games.

With that, I do believe she got this for me for Xmas.

Just be grateful you have a wide open teammate to pass to. I still haven't figured out how to control players without the ball. It's a gamekiller to me. (PS3 version)
