Also, the Legends Showcase DLC is now available in the Xbox Live Marketplace. This seems pretty cool, I like the different artistic style they are using.

Enhance your NBA 2K12 experience with the all-new “Legends Showcase” add-on content pack. Legends Showcase delivers hours of additional gameplay, allowing users to END THE DEBATE as to who is the best player ever. Set in an stylized version of Times Square, Legends Showcase allows players to select from over 150 legends to compete in 2v2 and 3v3 Challenges, H-O-R-S-E, Pick-Up games, and more.
Here is an entire article with one of the developers that goes into detail about all the new features of the DLC.

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_i ... 6275802267
It’s also important to note that, while the Legends Showcase takes place in more of a street environment in Times Square, it’s still a simulation at heart. While we captured some fancier passes, dribble moves, and dunks to make the Legends stand out and differentiate the gameplay, it’s all still grounded in reality. Think of it as a sort of a street simulation. We even made sure to spend a significant amount of time honing the AI for this type of game. We want 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 games to feel special not just because of the Legends involved, but also because the game is being played the way you’d expect it to be.

And finally, don’t forget that with the Legends Showcase, you will open up a new option in the Online portion of the main game called Classic Quick Match. This gives you a chance to play online with all of the NBA’s Greatest teams in a standard simulation setting. This is completely outside of the Times Square, cell-shaded DLC environment and with only these all-time teams to choose from, it will hopefully help maintain an even playing field. Additionally, you’ll also now have full roster control over all those NBA’s Greatest teams, so if you want to bring them into Association mode, or edit, trade, and release players, you can do all that too.

With the debate about the greatest team of all-time hopefully being settled with NBA’s Greatest, one of the coolest elements about the Legends Showcase DLC is that it gives you the opportunity to answer a few more of those burning questions. Who is the greatest individual player of all-time? Who is the greatest teammate duo of all-time? Which era is the best of all-time? Who is the greatest trick shot artist of all-time? To put it simply, our main goal with Legends Showcase was to create an entirely new experience centered on the Legends. We feel like there’s a ton of content here that can be appreciated, whether you’re a hardcore basketball historian or just a casual fan.

Before I finish this up, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention one other key piece of the Legends Showcase: Where do YOU fit in against the greatest NBA players of all-time? That’s right, you can import your My Player (as Ronnie2K has done here) and see if you can compete with the best of the best. Want to find out if you can take MJ 1-on-1? How about teaming up with Bird and McHale to see if you can take out an Isiah Thomas-Joe Dumars-Bill Laimbeer or Magic Johnson-James Worthy-Kareem Abdul-Jabbar trio? Or what about trying your hand against Pete Maravich in H-O-R-S-E? Any match-up you can think of with almost all of the significant players in NBA history is right there at your fingertips.

I could keep going on about some of my other favorite things to try (Shaq vs. Mikan, Thompson vs. Gervin, Wilt vs. Russell, Chris Paul vs. Isiah, to name a few more – sorry, I couldn’t resist), but it’s probably about time I wrapped this up and left the rest of the fantasy scenarios to everyone else. Keep an eye out for the Legends Showcase on the PSN Store this week – it’ll be available on 11/29. — Ben Bishop

800pts ($10 US). I was just looking at the complete list of legends and it is pretty sweet, but it appears there is no Reggie Miller or Charles Barkley. This has to be a licensing issue, right?

A friend and I have been trying to go head to head online on the PS3, but it was totally f***ed up when we tried. Anyone know if they've fixed any of the online functionality yet?

Damn, dude! Why didn't you launch a signal flare at DSP about this deal?

Nice grab. :)
I was going to, but Amazon had caught the mistake and put the price back at 39.99. Didn't want to lead anyone on a wild goose chase. I hit Cheapassgamer up daily and got lucky with the timing in seeing this deal right in time.

Played the demo of this game. It's super. My son already asked for this game from Santa, so it looks like he and I will fight for the controller or just play head-to-head all the time. :)

The last three years of the 2k series (right when NBA Live went in the sh*tter) have been ridiculously good. You're gonna have a blast with this one. 2k certainly hasn't rested even without any competition, the NBA Legend challenges are worth the price alone.

Okay, after playing this game for a few hours last night all I can say is WOW! The historic matchups are crazy cool. Being able to play the historic games with the actual rosters, uniforms, coaches, television fonts of the period, scoreboards, etc. is a joy. The touch of playing the games in black and white for the older players/teams is also awesome. I wish all sports games had the presentation of NBA 2K12, as it is stellar. And, of course, the gameplay is great as usual. Having taken a couple years off from the series it seems fresh again and I will be playing this game a lot. If a 2K hockey game could be this nicely done I would be thrilled beyond belief.

Only if they could just copy the Pro game and make a college version - but I guess EA holds those rights correct?

No money in the College game. In fact 2K bailed first then EA bailed on the College game. I think EA even bailed on the Pro game.

Did the demo have commentary? I can't seem to recall. The presentation will absolutely blow you away. The addition of Steve Kerr has been great. Someone asked in another thread how this game is different than 2K11. I notice two things right from the get go. First, the controls are more responsive, and second the A.I. playing against the computer has definitely improved. Last year, when playing against the Thunder, the CPU would run the same play through Durant the majority of the time. Now, it feels much more organic in the way they distribute the ball. Lastly, loose balls, rebounds, and deflections just play out more realistically. More than a few times a game, I just smile and can't believe I just saw a particular animation play out like I'm watching a real game.

You're going to have so much fun with this game!

plan on getting this soon now that the strike is over. Thought the demo was solid, but you still get lost in the animations a lot...especially near the basket. Tough to get the release timing down due to the animation taking over. Feels like
this has been an issue forever with 2K hoops games.

1. 12 minute on AS sim the best settings?

2. Real free throw % or timing?

3. Real FG% or shot stick?

4. My player or Franchise with favorite team?

Just a few questions I have.. I have the game, just haven't messed with it yet.

1. I actually use 10min qtrs and yes AS with default settings.

2. Didn't touch this so I guess default settings.

3. Same here, but I do use controller settings B.

4. Started a franchise with the Celtics and actually won the tittle.

I must say, if you leave the CPU to trade on its own it will make some crazy deals.

On my franchise Nash, Duncan, Parker, Manu, KG (Portland offered Aldridge :-D ) all got traded, the problem was that most trades weren't excactly fair.

I picked up an NBA game for the first time last year. (2k11) after playing for about an hour I couldn't believe how freaking awesome the game was. I'm not a hoops fan, but the game is amazing top to bottom.

I too struggled with some of the animations.. not as fluid as say Fifa or NHL. However, hoops by it's nature is played on a crowded floor. I will admit that I believe 2k12 is an improvement over 2k11 in this area and smoother and more responsive in general. Can anyone vouch for how it performs online in a head to head setting?

Does anyone know if they will be able to update the schedule to reflect the new 66-game season? I am thinking of getting this after Christmas once the NBA rosters are finalized and playing the season, but not being able to play the true season would kind of suck.

I wouldn't be too surprised if 2K did make that adjustment. Sales were slow out of the gate and i'm thinking 2K will want to make purchasing the game as appealing as possible.

Taking that thought one step further, how would not making the adjustment impact NBA Today mode?

I can't imagine 2K couldn't fix it. Hell, if I were them I would pump some advertising money into a "re-release" campaign to run alongside the upcoming season. Hell, even if it were and add on (free) instead of a patch.

That's what I was curious about, if the schedule could be patched for the Association mode. I could still pick a shorter season but it would be awesome to open a Bulls Association against the Lakers on Christmas.

It's hard to say what's wrong without seeing any visual cues of what's going on, but it seems to me that you may not be pushing the right stick quick enough after icon selecting the player.

Rented the PS3 version today since my Xbox is heading in for repairs. It's strange, but the game just doens't feel right. I can't even begin to really
explain it because it looks great, is just as responsive, but something is missing. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the controller. Very strange but
I played one game and I was done.

Yeah, I've tried every combination, couldn't get it to work. It's a gamekiller to me. This is the PS3 version, btw.

Yeah, I have the PS3 version and I'm not understanding what you guys see in this game at all. I wonder if there could be that much difference between the 360 version and PS3 version?

A few of my gripes with my PS3 version:

- I can't move players without the ball, despite doing exactly what the manual says (gamekiller)
- The camera view changes out of the blue, for no apparent reason. At OS they say it might be a faulty controller, but mine work fine for every other game
- Menus pop up out of the blue
- If I make 50% FTs, that's about as good as it gets
- The commentary is horrible, the worst I've ever heard in a sports game. I was doing a season as the Cavs and they spend about half the game talking about LeBron leaving, EVERY single game.

I'm just not getting what you guys see in this game. I haven't touched it in a couple months, maybe I'll go back to it and give it another shot when the season starts.
