Points to Syracuse's finest. Ago in the Aurora British F1 series, back when it was still feasible for a privateer entry to buy an F1 car and go racing. I suppose the modern day equivalent would be Vale in an F60 booming around Snetterton or somewhere like that. It'd also be bloody expensive.

Rossi is f*cking Superman: He tested a Yamaha World Superbike today at Misano, just 32 days after he suffered a COMPOUND fracture of his lower right leg. He's talking about returning July 18 at the German GP.

Unbelievable.

I hope he doesn't put himself at risk by coming back so soon. This says a lot about his competitive spirit though. He essentially has no shot at being champion, he's hurt, he has nothing to prove, and he's riding for a team that he has a good chance of not being with next season. Gotta love Rossi.

Spot on, brother. All I can think is that he's trying to pry more money out of Yamaha for 2011 by showing his toughness and resolve, weighed against the big money being offered by Ducati.

Schumacher trounced today by 20 seconds by teammate Rosberg, beaten by fellow graybeard Barrichello in a Williams and Kobayashi in a Sauber, and left jousting for position at the end of the race with Sutil in a Force India and Hulkenberg in a Williams.

But it's only a matter of time until Michael finds form this season, correct?

Correct, yes.

By his own admission, he f*cked up in Q3 and condemned himself to a long run behind Barrichello and Kobayashi by making a mistake on his out lap after the tyre change. Neither of these things are good, but his fundamental pace was alright for much of quali and much of the race.

The problem, of course, is that when it mattered, he was busy making a thorough mess of things, but I remain convinced he can't possibly do that every single time. Your point would be easier to accept if Schumi was rubbish for entire weekends at a time, which hasn't once been the case yet. By the same token, mine would be easier to take if he'd been stellar for a whole weekend, and that hasn't happened either.

This greybeard Barrichello is presumably the very same Barrichello you wanted rid of at the end of 2008? He's driving the wheels off that Williams at the minute. Looks like that old boy still has plenty of mileage left in him.

Yes, indeed. I'm happy to admit my assessment of Rubinho was 100 percent wrong. Glad to see him driving so well, as he's a super-nice guy. One of the classiest gentlemen in the F1 paddock.

I'm logged into IndyCar Nation at the minute listening to an interview with Randy Bernard. I haven't followed the series closely enough to know exactly how he's perceived among the American fans, but he sounds well switched on and has a pretty clear idea of where he wants the ICS to go. He also fielded the "why the Hell is Milka Duno allowed on a race track?" question in a manner that this F1 follower found refreshingly honest and straightforward.

It strikes me that any one of us could have qualified on or around her pace at Watkins Glen a couple of weeks back. Would it be so difficult to quietly 107% her out of the field or something like that?

Sachsenring is an incredible circuit and delivered one heck of a race today. The battle between Rossi and Stoner was exciting, as Stoner was able to pass Rossi late in the last lap to grab third place. The sheer fact that Rossi was even competing for a podium spot in his first race back after suffering a broken leg was incredible. I continue to be amazed that MotoGP is not more popular. The amount of talent right now in MotoGP, combined with exciting races virtually every week, make for the most entertaining racing on the planet in my humble opinion.

Agreed 100 percent.

De Puniet is a lucky boy that he only suffered a broken leg in that crash. I'm also impressed by Simoncelli, who seems to be coming to grips with MotoGP machinery and also is being helped by Honda showering trick parts on its satellite teams.

Roger Lee Hayden -- Nicky's little brother -- will replace De Puniet next weekend at Laguna Seca. You heard it here first!

Back from Jersey, had a hell of a good time. Not a great weekend for my MSR team, but it was good race anyway. I did talk to one of the guys from the 60 car; I knew my friends brother hurt his arm and wouldn't be there, I just didn't realize how bad. (He fell off the top of a transporter in VIR, and screwed up his arm royally). He only just started coming back to work a couple days a week.

Also, I was concerned that the fans would not have the same kind of access to the garage areas as they did the first year. I needn't have worried, the whole place was wide open, and the teams were very open and friendly.

It was hot as balls, but we had lots of water. I hope Adam enjoyed the pictures I put on facebook, especially the one of the "Grid Girls". I grabbed a ton of autograph cards for my son, he loves them.

I'm now home, drinking coffee, and watching my DVR of the race! My family thinks I'm nuts.

Funny thing was I kept thinking of iRacing. There was a Skippie race, a Mustang race, the DP cars, plus Jettas, and Corvettes all running at some point. And I kept thinking "I suck driving all of those cars!"

They do things very, very differently in that part of the world, don't they?

I especially enjoyed the shot of the Skippy driver who seems to have broken down about 25 miles away from the nearest emergency telephone. He could very well still be out there.

Oh man, that guy closest to the barrier was inches away from getting clipped as the car landed over the barrier. That was indeed miraculous that everyone was able to run the proper direction to avoid a car flipping through the air out of control.
