Congrats to the Hawks as my thoughts are with Dale Tallon now, who's managing FLO today and is the real architect of this young Hawks team. Doubt they can keep the core of players mentioned with today's salary cap but at least I am glad also that Hossa finally hoisted the cup.

Well besides Hossa....They can keep their Olympic core together.

You had to know this team was going to special when you watched Toews and Keith get MEGA Ice time for Team Canada and Kane be the best position player for team USA.

THAT core will be together.... 8)

Incidentally, the Flyers were a classy bunch in this series. Pronger was a d*****, but the rest of them did the NHL proud. Tenacious bunch to say the least.

Those fans who traveled and stayed are having a ball. It's an hour later and they're still there getting doused with champagne by Buf!

Indeed. Team Canada will be fine for a long time and ironically for Kane, wasn't his goal similar to the one Crosby scored on Miller during the Oympics? The duo of Seabrook and Keith is untouchable, but I doubt CHI will be able to keep Toews and Kane together in the long stretch.

Congratulations to the Blackhawks, the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions. A deserved, long-awaited title for a proper hockey town.

I can't help but think of a conversation I had with a coworker about 4 years ago regarding the Hawks. He told me that the Hawks didn't matter to anyone in the city and I told him that wasn't true. I said that there was a large underground following of the Hawks just waiting for Bill Wirtz to either step down or die. That they were pretty much watching the Wolves until the Hawks were back. He said there was no way anybody in this town gave a s*** about the Hawks. The season after Wirtz died the Blackhawks set a franchise record for attendance, also the first year they broadcast every home game finally. Here we are a year later and they hoisted the cup. The fans never went away completely, they just waited. Those fans are happy tonight and so are a whole bunch of new fans that didn't know the true beauty of the sport until now.

When Roenick, Murphy, Nicholls, Chelios, and Belfour turned into Zhamnov, Nylander, Sullivan, Daze, a past-his-prime Gilmour, and Anders Ericksson there was 11 years of 1 playoff appearance and a lot of suffering. Dark days indeed. I cannot express how happy I am tonight after watching the Hawks win the Stanley Cup.

The Flyers are a hell of a team and I respect the hell out them outside of Pronger. They will no doubt be a force to reckon with for years to come with Leino, Hartnell, Brierre, and Richards. Very worthy opponents that treated the hockey world to a fantastic Finals.

Thank you, hockey gods for making my dreams come true.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

No kidding. I was really thinking just how insane that would be if it ever does happen. The city will seriously self implode.

Blackhawks' fans: Celebrate at work today by putting these Stanley Cup Champions pictures on your desktop!

God, I'm jealous of you mofos. Yeah, the Oil has won five Cups since 1984, but the last one was in 1990. I really want another one, especially now that I have two sons who can share in the celebration.

Trust me Cubs fans, a Blackhawks parade is way better than no parade at all.

Enjoy your parade, Chicago.

Overnight rating of 5.8 was best for a Cup final game in 36 years.

Flyer fans were pretty harsh toward Bettman when he came out on the ice after the game. He looked nervous. He tried sucking up to them a little, but I don't think it worked too well. :D

Congrats to the BlackHawks they deserved the Cup. I totally enjoyed the ride courtesy of my Flyers. From having to win an OT shootout on the last day of the season to get into the playoffs...to losing Gagne, laperriere, and Carter before the playoffs...to being 3 down to Boston and winning...to almost forcing a game 7 in the finals - I cannot complain.

PS, two words about professional sports...PLAYOFF HOCKEY.

Harsh? Is there any city or arena where this guy is welcomed? He's lucky he wasn't in a Canadian city. The hatred towards him is big.

Yeah, bettman gets booed everywhere by NHL fans.

Also, I am kind of amazed by chicago's level of resentment towards Pronger;
For those without the benefit of video:
"I think Chris Pronger is the biggest idiot in the league. I can't stand the guy one bit. I hope I never get to see him again. And if I see him again, I may have to punch him."
And then on the infamous "Chrissy Pronger" newspaper poster, with the Flyers defenseman in a skirt:
"That's perfect. He should have worn that out here tonight. He was terrible."
(that was Adam Burish)
