Chelsea are going to spend 40 million on Aguero, by today's performance that's 39 million too much. He was almost as invisible as Steven Gerrard - that whole extra time I literally forgot he was on the field.
Didn't Dave call for a taxi earlier in the year? Before Hughes got sacked? Anyway, Stadler and Waldorf are too cheap for a Taxi, they'll give Rafa bus fare while they bring in Klinsmann to f*** our team up more than Souness did in early 90s......

Hmm, maybe if the Two Stooges had sacked the waiter earlier in the season, things might have gone better.Macca00 wrote:Chelsea are going to spend 40 million on Aguero, by today's performance that's 39 million too much. As for Hughes, word is the final straw was a conversation along these lines early in December
Sheik Mubarak - Ok Mark, transfer window is coming up, what do you reckon we need to move the club forward.
MH - Robert Green and Matthew Upson.
SM - bye Mark.

nope, they are pulling the ESPN card from 2006. I don't even know who Menefee is.

Menefee is the idiot who replaced good ol' James Brown on the Fox NFL pre-game telecast when Brownie skipped over to CBS. He used to be a local NY guy on one of local news channels, probably Fox 5.fsquid wrote:nope, they are pulling the ESPN card from 2006. I don't even know who Menefee is.

He stinks, he's a tool, and I can't stand him; never could. This has to be one of the absolute stupidest moves they could ever make; a classic 'we have to make the game comfortable for average American fans' while all they end up doing is alienating anyone with an ounce of intelligence, whether they've ever seen a soccer game in their lives before or not, because Menefee is honestly as bad as they come. At least in my opinion. I've never even heard him do play by play for any sport, but he plain stinks when he opens his pie hole.
What a joke.
Meanwhile, after, what, 20 years (?) ESPN has finally figured it out, by giving us the native UK voices for their EPL games on Saturday morning, and hiring Motson (was it?) for the World Cup.

Apparently Spurs' goalie is injured now for Wednesday.
Put your hand up if you think that Harry 'Thieving Tw*t' Redknapp is going to go for an emergency keeper loan, not 4 days after slagging off the PL for allowing City to do it.
I so hope we give them a doing on Wednesday.

Sorry Squid, we were all pulling for Wednesday, but a 2-2 just didn't do it.
Nice to see Liverpool put a great effort in against Chelsea. Let's see Hansen and Lawrenson defend THAT performance on Match of the Day tonight.

yup and the fans that ran onto the pitch at the end of the game should be fecking shot.davet010 wrote:Sorry Squid, we were all pulling for Wednesday, but a 2-2 just didn't do it.

I don't think he's doing announcing. The PR statement said that it will have a british crew doing the play-by-play. The same guys that do a lot of the Fox Soccer games. I think Menefee is just doing the pre-game.Zeppo wrote:Menefee is the idiot who replaced good ol' James Brown on the Fox NFL pre-game telecast when Brownie skipped over to CBS. Was quite a 'back to the 80's' vibe about some of that, though the Palace fans running onto the field...AWAY..when you've just sent the home side down didn't exactly engage brain first.fsquid wrote:yup and the fans that ran onto the pitch at the end of the game should be fecking shot.davet010 wrote:Sorry Squid, we were all pulling for Wednesday, but a 2-2 just didn't do it.

Still, you have my sympathies....I've been there 5 times in person, even that legendary away game at Stoke in 1998 when we took them with us.

Things you could not make up, part 6.
From the BBC 606 live message board, and this is a direct quote. From a Liverpool fan, allegedly.
There is no rule to say that the team which finishes fourth gets a Champions League place. UEFA give the FA four Champions League spots, and then the FA decide who to nominate to enter the competition. If they do give it to the fourth placed side, they can then reject the opportunity.
So there are two options:
1. The FA give the place to us.
2. The team finishing fourth (Tottenham or Manchester City) reject the offer and nominate us.
There are many reasons to do so. We have an exception record in the competition, we have a set of wonderful fans, and some of the greatest nights in the competitions history, and we are the most successful club in the country.
We need to get things moving now. Mathematically, the chance may not be there, but morally, or even legally, we could have a case.
I'm proud of the players and manager today. We did what we thought was the right thing for the club.
YNWA.
Now, I could deconstruct the entire post. But let me limit myself to a mere two examples.
"We are the most successful club in the country". Hmm, and here's me thinking that you've won less Premiership titles than Blackburn Rovers.
"Some of the greatest nights in the competition's history" - OK, that's Heysel and Michael Shields accounted for then.
There's a large part of me that really doubts that this is a Liverpool fan. But certainly the lack of self-awareness does fit the bill....

Dave,
Seriously, you're quoting a post from a 606 forum? The 606 callers are borderline mentally retarded at best......actually, that's being unfair to the mentally retarded.....I can't imagine the lack of frontal lobe function in 606 forum goers.
If you think the rest of (sane) Liverpool fans agree with him in the slightest then I think I have a radio phone-in show you could listen to.
Please, please thump Spurs on Wednesday because I can't stand Harry Redcrook.
