Looks like the other way around pal. Boys look good, including Luongo, but with this dangerous young Hawk team, I don't take anything for granted.
Wow!
What a beating. Vancouver completely out playing Chicago in every possible way. Better goaltending, better puck movement, better zone control, better defense, better self control, better awarness, just much MUCH better hockey.
Good thing for the Hawks that this isnt football or NCAA tourney basketball. They get to live and fight another day. I fully expect that this will be a long series and I still see the Hawks winning it. Maybe
Ass kicking win. All four lines played awesome, all scoring. And yes, this is going to be a long series but if the Hawks continue to play like tonight or against the series vs NAS, I like VAN's chances much better.
Canadiens showed up to the game about 10 minutes late but all appears well( as well as it can for them) now as they manage to get the 1-1 tie going into the 2nd.
If they continue to play the Pens five on five they have a great chance. Can they avoid getting any penalties called on them at all for 60 minutes though?

Ill guess no.
Im just waiting for the roof to cave in on them. Waiting for the 21st century Habs I know and cringe watching to show up playing their chicken with the head cut off defensive system. They did run it at the start of the game.
Really disappointed in MAF's play this series and postseason in general. When you outshoot a team 32-6 in the 2nd and 3rd period, you can't give up 2 goals on those 6 shots.
Even though the Habs are giving up a ton of shots, Pit really isn't getting great chances. They've done a great job in clearing out the front of the goal and denying any second chances. This is exactly the way Montreal beat the Caps, and they are frustrating the Pens in the process.
And Geno, wake up! Very lazy play by him today, refusing to battle for any pucks and missing the net on almost every shot.
Just a shame for my Bruins. They get Savard back and a huge OT win only to find out today Sturm is out for the rest of the playoffs. Can't catch a break.
Need Rask to keep up the great play even more so now.
Game 2 between San Jose-Detroit is picking up where they left off a couple of days go. Very evenly matched, the 'big Joe' for the Sharks is actually Joe Pavelski. T. Bertuzzi after all his years in the league continues to make just dumb penalties in the crease robbing off any momentum for his team.
If young Jimmy Howard stays solid, Wings can steal one tonight.
Regardless, this is going to be another long series.
Key momentum change was the 5 on 3 PP for the Sharks. Guess who was one of the culprits in the penalty box? Yep, Todd Bertuzzi. Pavelski impresses me everytime he touches the puck, and the Wings played well enough to even the series. But those costly penalties...
Every time P. Dastyuk scores, he makes it the highlight reel. Another beauty.

But if you had Jaroslav Halak or Joe Pavelski on your pre-playoff ballot, I would like for you to pick Lotto numbers for me.
I had half of the WAS dudes on my pool. That's how well I am doing. I did pick Halak though. He's been the Habs MVP, and has been playing solid since the regular season. No surprise to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if coack Q brings back guys like Burish or Ben Eager to spice things up after their embarrasing loss at home against the Canucks. We need to silence that loud crowd again and take it to them right off the bat. Having said that, I expect a more physical Hawks tonight and hopefully Luongo will play as well as he's been playing. Go 'Nucks.
Funny feeling I had after the first period when the 'Nucks were all over the Hawks, especially the first 8 minutes of the game. With the score already 2-0, VAN could have easily been up 4-0 and I kept asking myself, are the missed chances going to cost us in the end?
The answer is clear, the SH goal by P. Sharp gave CHI much breathing room after not being able to solve Luongo for much of the game and the late goal by Versteeg tied the series 1-1. The home team is too good to be down 2-0 in the series, and Canucks lacked a killer instinct giving them hope.
The PP sucked big time and instead of putting the game away it ended up costing them. Back to the garage for game 3.
