Ovi does everything on instinct due to his enormous physical gifts. Shoot, dangle, hit.

I don't think Ovi sees ahead and reads the play nearly as well as Crosby, who lacks the physical gifts of Ovi but has a sky-high hockey IQ.

Ya....No way in hell Habs can throw that net around Crosby the way they did to AO. Crosby is just a better all around big game player.

Now having said that let me say....f*** Crosby...f*** the Pens....Lets Go Habs!!!!!!!!

They all but said that about Ovi and the Caps last night near the end of the game. Point they were making was the Caps were "add-libbing" their offense too much and that won't cut it the super tournament we know as the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Was 7 for 8 on my first round predictions, the DET-SJ game is about to start so here are my second round calls:

Western Conference:

San Jose-Detroit: DET in 7.

No team is as well coached in the playoffs as this bunch of experienced dudes. Goaltending is the only concern for the Wings but their deeper center-men will win this long series even though J. Thornton and Nabokov fail to bring their game up.

Chicago-Vancouver: VAN in 7

Besides our hated rivalry with the Flames, this match up with the Hawks comes close in terms of intensity and dislike for each other. Just ask A. Ladd and R. Kesler. VAN were 5 minutes of going up 3-1 in the series last year when they started to play defensively. Even though they miss W. Mitchell, they're deeper this year both in the D-zone and offensive area and the key as usual will be R. Luongo. Will he fade away as he did on game 6 last year or will this rematch prove that he really belongs among the top goalies at this time of the year.

Eastern Conference:

Boston-Philadelphia: BOS in 6

No Carter, no Laperriere, no Gagne. Can Boucher be their savior? He proved that he can play but still without those guys around it'll be tough for the Flyers. Plus M. Savard is cleared to play again and that's a big offensive boost for the Bruins.

Pittsburgh-Montreal: PIT in 6

Penguins are a much deeper team and even though Halak has played out of his mind so far, PIT is more balanced on both D and offensive zones than WAS. I still think that Crosby and Malkin can play better and that's scary. The Habs will run out of gas in the end.

The playoff difference between the Pens and the Caps is clearly evident on Pitts first two power plays in period 1.... Excellent puck movement results in 2 goals on 2 pp attempts. Wash only scored on 1 pp in the entire 7 game series with Mon.

Lets go Habs!?

Even though the Habs are not going away quietly, I doubt they have much left in the tank. They have to cut down on penalties, sign of fatigue, many are just not moving their feet.

Any PIT fan would be concerned with the status of Crosby and Staal for game two. If unable to play, all of the sudden the match up will be more even.

Im not buying fatigue as an excuse. The reason the Pens won tonight and will most likely win this series is that they are a far better team.

There are some people out there who dont wanna believe it but this is a great f***in team. You dont get to two straight Stanley Cup finals and win one of those finals by accident.

Again...having said all that ass kissing crap...Im not giving up. The Habs didnt give up tonight. Unlike in a couple of the losses to the Caps, they played the entire game.

GO HABS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Staal is out for the rest of the playoffs. Pens might still be able to make the finals, but that probably kills their chances of hoisting the cup this season.

The crowd and atmosphere in CHI just rocks. Overall the Hawks are more skilled so Canucks need to bring their physical game and start banging them. Won't be easy because the home team are a quick bunch, scoring first on them though will be key. Don't be surprised to see a chippy series,

Niemi no good.

He should get an assist on the 2nd goal. He kept trying to set up guys all period long with those big rebounds. It finally paid off with 10 seconds to go.
