I'm not even a part of this but I'm impressed. I love it when someone can bring that level of detail and color to a league.

Nice work, Terry!

Thanks guys.

Once Brando has that "top 10" list up, I'll post the awards that people can send in their nominations for. The week before the Super Bowl, I'll post the winners in some little presentation.

Danimal wrote:Note #2 - I've asked Jared that after this season is over if we could get a sub forum like the baseball league has. I don't think it is an issue. I will be posting the off-season schedule in the next day or two.
That won't be a problem (unless someone seriously objects); will do it for the start of the new season.

And if Slumber is leaving....the AFC East looks mighty lonely. Anyone want to join me there?

No need for a write-up, but I'm curious, do you think this was a Madden screw-job, a case of the unstoppable QB or just a series of wacky plays gone amok?

No not at all. Brees was just on point. converted 9 of 10 3rd down conversions. it was a straight up game, I didn't feel cheated at all.

I really wish it was possible to observe these playoff games. Saints-Panthers looks like it was quite the shootout.

Sorry that you lost, BH. Good luck in the offseason, and if you do think about switching teams, Indy is open in the AFC South.

No problem. I'll be on around 9 or 9:30. . .if I'm in FFXIII, I'll run for the nearest save point when you jump on live. . .

Well, that's good to hear. . .I'm also bummed to see that you lost, but am happy to hear it was a fair fight. . .I know Brees can be a handful offline. . .

it was a good game and I got an interception late and was up by 7 and thought I could put it away. But Brees was unbelievable, I couldn't put any pressure on him and he kept finding Meachem and Colston wide open. I kept trying different defenses and nothing worked. I never felt cheated though. It just seemed like one of his "real life" games. I thought I could keep the ball away from them by running Williams and Stewart, who both were also amazing, especially Williams. But Delhomme gave the ball away. I should have started McCown.

I'm open to a change in teams though to help make the divisions more competitve.

What I can't wrap my head around is that they did this after getting annihilated twice already by you. The Saints have suddenly become, for lack of a better and less "punny" term, the big wild card in the NFC.

Which team shows up against Dallas? The one that passed like that last week, or the one that went 2-8 after a 6-0 start??

I totally overlooked them because of the 2 previous games and took them for granted because I was doing what I wanted on the ground. but each series Brees was just picking me apart. at one point he was 21 for 22. Plus my defense was probably reading the headlines that there's a chance of me going back to Dallas and laid down

Alright, scan Brando's post for help if you need it--it's awards voting time. Here's the skinny:

Vote for one winner in each category. You cannot vote for your own players, or your own team for the team awards. PM your votes to me before the AFC/NFC Championship games have been played. If you can include a brief description of why you pick who you pick, it can help add a little color to the write up, but it's entirely optional. I know it's probably more time than some guys can invest to give explanations for picks. Asking a PM is a lot already, I know. Before the Super Bowl, I'll post a season recap/awards post detailing winners. With that out of the way, here are the categories (I did away with rookie of the year candidates because it's too damn hard to separate rookie from vet in the Online Franchise without going to each player and finding the "canned" face). Thanks in advance to everybody who can participate.

Individual Awards

1. MVP
2. Offensive Player of the Year
3. Defensive Player of the Year
4. Best QB
5. Best RB
6. Best WR
7. Best TE
8. Best DL
9. Best LB
10. Best DB
11. Best K
12. Best P
13. Best Return Specialist (Kick and/or Punt)

14. Biggest Overachiever (average player who was used most effectively)
15. Biggest Underachiever (great player who was most underutilized)

Team Awards

1. Most intimidating team (as a whole)
2. Most intimidating running attack
3. Most intimidating air attack
4. Most intimidating defense
5. Best Defensive Line
6. Best Linebackers
7. Best Secondary
8. Best Coaching
9. Overachieving Team - who did most with the least talent
10. Underachieving Team - who did the least with the most talent
