Perfect example yesterday. Rams get a first and ten at the Lion 17. They proceed to call 3 straight short passes the last one getting picked off.
The Lions never came close to stopping the run yet the Rams kept passing. It just drives you f***in nuts watching this kind of stupidity.
A team whose only good player is the RB and who has lead or been tied the entire game should not have the qb throwing 13 more times than they run the ball. That is just me though....
For the second straight week the Rams will not lose. God bless the bye week. Next up the Saints followed by the Cards. Good times ahead.

This is the worst offensive line that I've ever seen in the NFL.
Not bad. Not even awful. Those adjectives are far too mundane to contain the epic, biblical ineptitude of a line that couldn't block one of my local Pee Wee team DL's.
There is not a single starter on that line that should be starting in the NFL. None. I think Cutler had more than 2 second to throw maybe 3 times, and that was only because the Niners were rushing 3...or even fewer.
Cutler and Forte should chain themselves to the bench and refuse to take the field until the Bears decide to field a line that isn't offensive in the wrong sense of the word.

Cutler gets pressured a lot, but so do a lot of QBs. As bad as the Bears line is -- and the run blocking is particularly atrocious -- their pass protection is not the worst. Yet Rodgers is not turning the ball over in Grossman-esque fashion. The same could be said for other teams like Washington and KC that have porous lines but haven't thrown interceptions the way the Bears have.The pressure is partly responsible, the receivers not knowing how to shake coverage is partly responsible, but Cutler's leading the league in INTs mostly because he is making bad decisions. Both his endzone interceptions were as bad as any Grossman pass, and the one where he tried to lob one to Forte was simply careless.
I haven't soured on him -- he's done a remarkable job moving the ball despite the running game disappearing. I'd still make that trade any day of the week. But he's directly cost the Bears two wins this year, the Green Bay game and last night's Niners game, because he's made awful throws at the worst possible time.

Brando, the difference between those quarterbacks you mentioned being under pressure and Cutler is the WR's they have at their disposal. The inexperience at that position is killing them when a play breaks down because none of them know how to break off of the route and find open space. It's like they finish their route and stand there. I could care less that Cutler has thrown so many interceptions so far this year because with talent around him that won't be the case. I can't live with an offensive line that pass protects sporadically throughout the game, negates almost every big play with a penalty, stalls almost every good drive with a penalty, and couldn't make a hole if they were armed with submachine guns.
I'm not exactly sure if Lovie Smith needs to go or not. He has proven he can win in the past but he sure doesn't look like he has control of his team now with the 2 blowouts and the tons upon tons of penalties. I do know that Ron Turner doesn't know how to use his new toy, lacks imagination, and needs to go. Angelo needs to go as well. He is just clueless when it comes to building an offense. Olin Kreutz is done. Roberto Garza is done. Chris Williams is a bust. Orlando Pace is done. Devin Hester is the #1 receiver. Rashied Davis is the receiver with the most experience.

Three of the five interceptions were arguably not his fault. Hester falls down on one, on another a ref gets into the way of the WR and the ball goes right to a defender and another one to Olsen, the interceptor probably committed PI.
But the two which were all his fault were in the red zone. He tries too much to make something out of nothing instead of throwing the ball away.

I think they're actually worse at pass protection. Watch again, Brando. Any time he has is gained only though his own mobility, and he's lousy at re-setting his feet when on the move. That's his fault, but it wouldn't be as much of an issue with a league-average line.

The stat that no Bear qb had had two 4+ int games in a season since 1962 was interesting.
I know that much of that is due to the sad Oline and the lack of weapons but when you think of the guys who have played qb for the Bears and the lack of weapons they have had ove the last 47 years I thought wow...WoW....
Definitely not trying to apologize for the line -- it is a terrible o-line and needs to be completely rebuilt. But three of those five picks last night were more Cutler's fault than anyone's -- the first redzone pick by the defensive lineman, the little dump off to Forte that Cutler missed, and the last pick where he locked on Olsen the whole time. The Bears made a lot of stupid mistakes last night, but those three turnovers were the biggest difference in a 10-6 game.
The receiver's inexperience is definitely hurting, especially when combined with protection breaking down as frequently as it does. However, the Bears are clearly not having too much trouble moving the ball through the air. I think Cutler is just trying to force the ball too much -- I can't blame him since he's the only one doing much on offense.
One good thing was to see Forte moving in space last night -- he ran well off passes when he had some room to run.
Lovie should be on the hot seat -- and I've been a Lovie supporter -- because this team looks so sloppy and unprepared. But with two additional seasons on his contract, there's no way a franchise as cheap as the Bears fires him this year. My guess is he gets a playoffs-or-bust ultimatum next year, and when the Bears miss the playoffs he'll be gone.
But Angelo has to go ASAP. That Gaines Adams trade looks idiotic now, as bad as trading down to draft Michael Haynes. To throw away a second-round pick on a guy who can't crack this crappy DL rotation after a month is just terrible.
