As owner of the DSFL's premier franchise, the Dallas Cowboys, we have welcomed the support of our many fans throughout the DSP nation. Along with that support, we have also recognized that we will always have our detractors. Our organization understands that while we treat all of our competition equally and respectfully, some of our rivals will treat the contests against our great organization as their Super Bowl, and take our "modesty in victory as less than forthcoming and forthright. We remain "modest" and humble in our wins, regardless of margin of victory.
Also, while many of the so called experts call our losses an exposure of our weaknesses, we take them as learning tools and use them to better our team and hopefully improve on our standing within the division, conference and league.
So in closing, we'd like to wish all of our competition the best of luck, especially against Chicago.
Best Regards,

What is this arrogance you speak of? These are our true feelings
Honestly, I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've actually never had this sort of success online in Madden, so when Terry wrote in the PR that we were exposed, I really thought he was spot on.
As a Cowboy, Cubs, and Illini fan, I'm just waiting for the inevitable.

Rams take the cpu Cards down 20-17 in OT.
The Rams were driving for the winning TD with seconds left in the 4th quarter when the every week happened....SJ fumbles at the two with seconds remaining.

Most of those who have played me will understand when I say to EA: f*** you! You lazy ass bitches.
As for the Rams. We are happy there were no injuries.

Oh dont worry, it's dropping in two weeks.

You guys know I kid. Terry asked for a little trash talk so I feel obligated. For the record, Asante Samuel has been fined by Eagles management and encouraged to do his talking on the field and not in the papers. Oh, and I have all the respect in the world for coach Rob and the job he's done in Chicago. Same goes for the Redskins - Zeppo has pulled the franchise out of it's tail spin after years of watching Dan Snyder run them into the ground.
Danimal, tonight still ok? I'm going to drink a little caffine if you plan on playing tonight. Otherwise I'm hitting the sack as I have to work early in the morning. Let me know what you want to do.

Dolphins 10, Texans 7
As Ronnie Brown lay on his back on the soggy Miami field, showers raining down from an angry sky, every little drop that hit his face felt like a nail being pounded into his jaw.
The Miami Dolphins notched their fourteenth win of the year with a dramatic comeback against the Houston Texans, but the victory proved Pyrrhic as star running back Brown broke his jaw in the fourth quarter. Brown will miss at least the final Dolphins game and their divisional round matchup, meaning he would be available at the earliest for the AFC championship game, should the Dolphins make it that far.
Both offenses were weighted down by the heavy curtains of rain that fell on the field. Neither team moved the ball very well in the first half, with the Dolphins managing a field goal in the second quarter and taking a 3-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. Late in the third, the Texans finally moved into scoring position, thanks in part to a 32-yard pass from Matt Schaub to tight end Owen Daniels.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
A few plays later, Schaub plunged into the endzone on a one-yard keeper, giving the Texans a 7-3 lead with seven minutes remaining. The teams traded possessions, before Miami receiver Ted Ginn's 42-yard punt return gave the Dolphins excellent field position at the Houston 34 with three minutes left.
The Houston defense put the pressure on Miami, holding firm and forcing a fourth-and-four at the 16. But Chad Pennington, after suffering bouts of erratic throws earlier in the game, connected with running back Ricky Williams for a first down and first-and-goal at the four.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
Again the Texans defense, arguably playing their best game of the year, kept the Dolphins at bay for three downs and needed one final stop to notch their first victory against a human-controlled team. And again, Pennington rose to the occasion, finding Davone Bess for the score and a 10-7 Miami lead with 52 seconds left.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
A solid kick return to the Houston 38 gave the Texans hope, but after receiver Andre Davis dropped a second-down pass that would have given Houston a first down, Schaubb fired two incomplete passes to finish the game.
While it seems unfathomable that a 14-1 team would not feel confident heading into the playoffs, the high-voltage running game of Miami will suffer a serious Brown-out. "I should have sat him," said Coach Jared, shaking the rain off his headset. "I just hope we get a sunny game for the playoffs, because we're going to need Pennington's arm to win." After uttering that phrase, Coach Jared threw up a little in his mouth.

Good game, Jared, a fun, defensive affair. Really too bad about Ronnie Brown.

Pittsburgh falls to Baltimore 17-14. After a turnover filled first half by both teams the Ravens went into halftime with a 3-0 lead. On Pittsburghs first possession of the third quarter Willie Parker scores on a 55 yard run to put the Steelers up 7-3.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
Before the third quarter was over though Willis McGahee would score 2 tds for the Ravens, a 60 yard run and a 61 yard pass play to put the Ravens up 17-7. Carey Davis would score on a 2 yard run for the Steelers halfway through the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 3. With 4 minutes to go in the game Pittsburghs defense was unable to get the ball back for their offense and the Ravens were able to run out the clock.
Willie Parker finished with 16 carries for 114 yards while Willis McGahee finished with 14 carries for 104 yards. Roethlisberger was 9 for 16, 104 yards and 1 int. Flacco was 11 for 17, 175 yards 1 td and 2 ints. Pittsburgh finishes the season next week at Miami while Baltimore travels to Oakland.

The Vikings avenged their ealier loss to the Bears with a narrow 28-21 victory over the NFC North leaders. The Bears defense was simply awful, and Jay Cutler was unable to construct another last-minute drive to draw the Bears even. The Vikings did not have a single punt in the game.
Things started well for the Bears, who engineered a long drive to open the game and scored on a Cutler screen to Devin Hester. All of the Bears good work was immediately undone however, as Percy Harvin returned the ensuing kickoff 101yds for a TD. The Bears fired back with another nice drive, scoring their second TD of the day on a one-yard plunge by Matt Forte. Uncharacteristically, the Bears dominated the first quarter time of possession.
After the game, Coach Varak admitted that the first Vikes drive of the second quarter ripped the heart out of the Bears. Thrice Tavaris Jackson was sacked for huge losses and thrice the Bears were unable to stop the mercurial QB from converting 3rd down and more than 20. It was a shocking, nauseating display. The drive was interminable, and Jackson finally found paydirt with an 8yd laser to Bernard Berrien to draw even.
The Teams went into the half even, but Jackson continued to confound his army of critics by leading a terrific drive to open the 3rd quarter. Chester Taylor rumbled for a 6yd TD to give the Vikings their first lead.
Cutler still had some firepower left, the Bears finally stopped wasting their time trying to run on the titanic Vikings DL. Cutler beat a Viking blitz and hit Darrell Jackson for a 20-yd TD.
Tavaris Jackson was not to be denied on snowy Soldier Field on this day, and led the Vikings down the field efficiently. He hit his FB Tahi with a swing pass and the big guy bashed his way for a 27-yd TD score.
The Bears had 2:07 and Cutler with the ball and a chance to tie. Cutler led the Bears on a quick drive down to the Vikings 25. On a critical 3rd down he was hit as he threw and missed an open Joe Walsh for what should have been the game-tying TD. Instead Vikings DB McCauley lept in front of Hester and picked the ball off for a game-saving INT.
Tavaris Jackson should have been player of the game. The Bears held Adrian Peterson to a reasonable 59yds on 12 carries. But the much-maligned Jackson was efficient and came up with the huge 3rd down throws he needed going 11/15 for 183yds, 2TDs and pick.
Cutler was alright, going 18/27 for 256yds with 2TD's of his own and the one critical pick. He was greatly hampered by the total lack of a running game. The Vikings defense totally suffocated Matt Forte, holding him to just 22yds on 10 carries! He did chip in with 4 catches for 30yds.
Great game, Badger. I was utterly flummoxed by that drive. Took me out of the game mentally for at least a quarter. Still had a chance at the end, but just never felt like I had an answer for you in this game. Well played and lots of fun.
I grabbed just one replay, the INT, which I'll put up in the a.m. Too exhausted from playing waaaayyy too much FIFA tonight.

I am off this weekend. So depending on what wife has planned in the evening, any night late is good for me. Since you are left coast time probably a 8-9pm start your time would work for me. I know I have dinner plans for tonight but should be home before you are off work
So lets shoot for that 8-9pm time frame tonight. IF something changes I will PM you!

Surprising games this week indeed, Terry. I think my playoff chances are finally dashed, but there may be a slim ray of hope still. With Badger's Vikes winning against the Bears, I don't think I can catch him at all because even though we could end tied at 11-5, he has a better conference record.
That leaves the Igles. If I win out against the Cowboys and the Chargers, and he loses to the Cowboys, I believe we would end up tied in everything: overall record, conference record, and division record. We split our games against each other, too.
I don't know what the next tiebreak would be, nor if real NFL tiebreaks would even apply in the zany world of EA Sports.
But in the end I have to beat Gamer at home, and his Cowboys don't seem to be pulling the typical 'quit in December' routine of the real-life version, and then I need Gamer to beat the Igles in the final week while I beat the Chargers. A tall order indeed. I'm still ruing that game against the damn CPU Panthers and the grease they put on that football!

"Nobody believes in us except for the people in this locker room." That was the mantra after the Vikings 28-21 victory over the Bears in week 16 this season, nearly ensuring the Vikings of a trip to the postseason.
"People didn't believe in us when we were facing 3rd and long throughout our first scoring drive," quarterback Tarvaris Jackson said. "Just like the dude that does the league's power rankings. He didn't believe in us either."
Maybe they'll start believing now. The Vikings extended that first drive while facing 3rd & 19, 3rd & 20 and 3rd & 22, finishing the drive 4/4 on 3rd down.
<embed src="http://cdn.www.easports.com/static/110. ... player.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=360&width=640&file=http://cdn.content.easports.com/media2/ ... ="></embed>
This 8-yard pass to Bernard Berrian tied the score at 14 going into the half:

In the 2nd half the Vikings were able to put pressure on Bear's quarterback Jay Cutler and take Matt Forte out of the game.
"All in all it was a very satisfying victory," said Vikings coach Brad Childress."For these guys to persevere through some very tough losses this year says a lot about the character of this team."

Ugh, I could finish 11-5 and miss the playoffs - that would sting. Again, I lost a sim game to MacMan's chargers and you and Rob overcame second half deficits to come back and beat me. You gotta finish, huh?
A. Samuel said it last week, the Dallas game is our SB.

Quick question for the Madden experts.
When I go into the defensive match-up screen to assign a particular defender (A Samuel comes to mind) to a particular player (for instance lets just say Jason Witten) sometimes I notice Samuel isnt an option. Is there a reason for this?
FYI - the above scenario is purely hypothetical and has no relation to the gameplan BHoward may or may not see next week.

Cowboys coach Wade "BHoward" Phillips warned his players today not to get caught up in a war of words with opponents that are chasing you. Take care of the task at hand, don't lose focus and do what you've done all season. Win this week and you clinch a spot in the playoffs, win out, and you get home field advantage throughout the playoffs. You and your fans have earned the right to be proud of your success this year and in the past. But we haven't completed our mission. So disregard the detractors and those that would want to get you off your focus to disrupt all that you work for.

Titans sneak by the Chargers. . .
Apparently still reeling from last week's beatdown from the Dolphins, the Titans faced a suddenly game and resurgent Chargers team on DSP Friday Night Football. . .
The Titans opened the game strong with a 51 yard INT Return for a TD by Nick Harper. . .on the second drive forced a SD punt and then the wheels came off when Kerry Collins misheard the call from Coach Doyle of Run (probably due to the coach getting a wisdom tooth pulled earlier in the day) and threw blindly into the endzone getting the pass picked off by Chargers Safety, Eric Weddle
Weddle tried returning the ball out of the endzone, but was tackled at the one. . .The Titans thought, sweet, a possible safety. . .nine minutes later. . .San Diego's Malcolm Floysd was dancing in the endzone. . .a 99 yard drive was just shoved in their face. . .
Luckily, and who knew at the time how lucky, the Titans got a 25 yard scramble from Vince Young three seconds before halftime setting up a Rod Bironas 48-yard FG. . .at the time Coach Doyle said this is better than nothing. . .at the end of the game he was kissing Bironas' golden foot. . .
In the second half, the Titans unwisely decided to pass over another long FG try and failed horribly at a 4th and 8 on the Chargers 32. . .the suddenly motivated Phillip Rivers (16-22, 224 1 TD, 2INTs) marched the Chargers down the field again, hitting LT for a 25 yard strike setting up 1st and goal from the 1. . .Darren Sproles (the obvious choice on goal line
) got it in the endzone on the third attempt. . .Chargers suddenly have a late 14-10 lead in the 4th Quarter in Nashville--the crowd grows silent and banjo picks are heard dropping all over town. . .
The Titans phased, but not in a state of total chaos, pull things together on offense and feed the Chargers a healthy diet of run and Play-Action and set up 28-yard TD strike to Nate Washington. . .the Chargers try a comeback but a desperate (but still motivated) Rivers throws his last pass of the day into the ever so happy arms of Courtland Finnegan and the Titans escape the upset bid 17-14. . .
Next week the Titans go west to faceoff with a hopefully less game Seattle Seahawks club and the CPU Chargers go back to San Diego thinking about what might have been while they prepare for the Redskins. . .

Anyway, I'm not sure if it was me being less wise after getting a wisdom tooth pulled today or not, but my game against the CPU tonight was no cakewalk tonight. . .
I don't know if there's something in the virtual water or whatnot, but the CPU showed up this time. . .and I'm not just talking about the score, they called innovative plays on both offense and defense. . .
I thought is was quite refreshing as my previous attempts of getting something out of the CPU were not so successful. . .as the normal CPU Defense seemed to be asking Chris Johnson what side of the field he wanted the red carpet laid for his scamper to the endzone. . .
I guess even in Madden the any given "sunday" adage still fits. . .
