This was my favorite political story of the election season:

HELENA - Republican gubernatorial candidate Roy Brown this week accused Democrats of spreading a false rumor that he is a vegetarian in this meat-loving state.
"I am not and have never been a vegetarian," Brown said.
"I am disgusted by the baseless allegation that I am a vegetarian and that my personal eating habits should somehow be construed as opposed to the economic interests of Montana's livestock industry."

I agree with Jack on this. If anyone wants to know how that turkey is making it's way to your dinner table, go here:

This is actual footage and factual information. I can understand killing turkeys humanely for food, but the inhumane torture and cruelty that goes on is ridiculous. You wouldn't believe what goes on at these places.

I'm with you on this one. One bullet from Farmer John is a lot better fate that what these thousands of turkeys suffer in these slaughterhouses.Teal wrote: I agree with Jack on this. Let's go back to the ol' fashioned way...
This will be my last comment about turkeys. If you are interested, check out the link I posted earlier...if not that's fine. I know that 95% of you guys couldn't give a rats ass about a tortured turkey.
p.s. Teal....are you a Crimson Tide fan? I can't wait for the FL/AL SEC final game. I will be there at the GA Dome rooting on my Gators!!!

Au contraire. Tortured turkeys (wasn't this the second album by the Hold Steady?) are a real concern of mine. My mom's been torturing the damn things by cooking them to dryness about 3 minutes from sandpaper for 30 years. That's torture for the bird and the diners.JackB1 wrote:

If anyone needs either a turkey or a goose, let me know. We have dozens of each in our yard almost daily. I promise to be clean and swift in my execution.

Speaking about the recount, Minnesota Public Radio has a great feature on their website where you vote on how contested ballots should be judged.

Geese have an exponentially greater crap-to-mass ratio. I know. I have geese, ducks, deer, turkeys, etc.. in my yard all the time. So you can put those rolling eyes back where they came from. When's the last time you actually saw one of these animals up close?JackB1 wrote:Newsflash!!! All wild animals crap all over the place.

Deer at least are tidy sh*tters. They drop those little black balls into a pile.
But Good Lord, don't ever step in it. Makes dog sh*t look like tasty salt water taffy.

Geese are the worst. They used to hang out on the baseball field when I was in high school during the first month or two of the season. Geese turds everywhere. Made sliding a real adventure...JackB1 wrote:I guess noone taught them how to use a toilet.matthewk wrote:

It really was just a matter of time before we starting talking about animal s*** in the politics thread.
