I know the difference in the clips. I'm saying the only reason Jack mentioned it is because of his compulsion to constantly post anything he can find that makes the GOP look bad.

Which makes his attempts look just as bad as the handful of GOP backers who booed when Obama was mentioned during McCain's speech....

Yep, it's been proven beyond doubt now.

Democrats are a classy intellectual bunch, and republicans are classless louts with a racial/religious tinge.

Seriously this is the most ridiculous discussion I've read in these political threads. I mean really? Really?

Besides, we have more important things to look forward to, like Obama's impending 'rule' over Americans. :?

I find your post embaressing. Spiteful and hateful even in victory. Thanks for showing us how much more class democrats have.
My comments had zero to do with the actual speeches. They were about the audience reactions. And yes...in this instance, the Democrats showed a lot more class. Even McCain seemed upset at the way they kept booing even after he asked then to stop. Don't blame me for that.
Fair enough...but I can blame you for the dems are good republicans are bad bullshit...Cmon already with that garbage.
I was talking about one particular situation. I never said all "dems are good...reps are bad". This was one case. Why can't anyone admit that something that their side did was wrong without pointing out something the other side has done? This "tit for tat" stuff is why people stay out of these politcal threads. It proves nothing.

It makes you look like an elitist.
I was pointing out the difference between the 2 parties in THIS SITUATION. You guys are making it an attack on the entire party and it wasn't meant that way. Why can't we ever address the point that was made instead of dissecting/analyzing my phrasing. Geeeezzzz.

No worries. He's going to be a fantastic leader. In fact, by the end of his term we'll probably have a national holiday honoring Barack. Oh, wait...

In THIS election, can you say with a straight face that the Democrats would have conducted themselves with model behavior after they threatened to "riot in the streets" if Obama were NOT elected?

You opened this can of worms and it can be played both ways. Comparing this election to 2004 is also an apples vs. oranges comparison because it was a very different election in MANY ways. IMO, this election had FAR more emotion in it than many elections I have witnessed and FAR more issues facing the American people all at the same time....

Wrong. I was clearly talking about the speech audience and NOT the entire party. You guys are deciding yourselves what I meant and this petty B.S. is really ridiculous.

This petty bickering is not of any value to anyone. I still haven't seen anyone address my original point. You know what....election's over...my guy won...I think I am taking a break from this thread now that it has turned into nonsense. Have fun arguing amonst yourselves and feel free to blast me as much as you want.

One week since the election and you can make such a claim? Did the Dow go back up to the high 12,000's? Are the Iraq/Afghanistan wars over? Is Health Care fixed? Are illegal aliens no longer crossing the border? Are we already energy independent? Has unemployment plummeted? Is the mortgage fiasco behind us?

A turd is a turd, no matter if it floats or not. IMO, a sinking turd has less chance of STINKING than a floating turd as it is not exposed to the air you breathe.....

Original point? What exactly was your original point again?

You originally meant to just point out the difference in crowd reaction, with absolutely NO other intentions? Typically people post links on message boards to start discussion. If your point was simply a few republicans in 2008 booed more than a few democrats in 2004 as evidenced by a clip, what exactly is there to discuss?

You throw a giant stink bomb into the thread devoid of any actual political meaning, accuse others of partisan bickering, then tuck and run. Well done!

I don't know why Democrats bother with lawyers, lobbyists, etc... Apparently they just need a team of editors to help their candidates win.

Since nobody but JRod got it, I will explain my point.

There were 2 exact same situations.....
(1) Kerry conceding to Bush (to a Democratic audience)
(2) McCain conceding to Obama (to a Republican audience)

The difference between the 2 reactions was like night and day. One was filled with hate and anger for the other winning candidate. The other was a classy reaction by a disappointed (but respectful) Democratic audience.
The question is why? Why such a difference in the 2 reaction's and it all points to the propaganda that was spread by the Rep. campaign...e.g. Obama pals with terrorists....Muslim......Anti-American.....Ayers.....Reverend Wright....etc etc.
All Obama did was point out McCain's ties to Bush. He didn't attack him in the same way IMO at all. He responded to attacks on himself, but never played dirty like the McCain party did. I know the Rep's don't see it that way, but that's expected.

There I explained my point. Discuss if you want. If not, that's fine too.
Either way I am done posting here just to defend myself. There's obviously a lot of bad feelings here towards the winners of this election.
Well you guys had your run...it's our turn now. Enjoy! Out....

WRONG. Two VERY different elections and issues facing the American people. If you can't see the differences between this election and the 2004 election, then you are simply CHOOSING not to see the differences to fit your agenda.

To the rest of your post, there is still a great deal we DO NOT KNOW about B Obama. Fortunately or unfortunately, we are going to be finding out alot more about him sooner than later.....

Is my calendar incorrect, or was the election a week ago, with the results announced that night?

The partisan bickering was understandable through last Tuesday. But we Americans rolled the bones Nov. 4 and got an outcome.

So I question the point of the continued flamethrowing. It either drips with gloating or bitterness, with very little productive thought or discussion going on.

Oh, well. Carry on. This thread has become DSP's own cable news network, with screaming heads from both sides turning up the volume to 11, with very little to say.

Take care,

And with a final analysis enabling him to decide for himself that his debate opponents were simply expressing mindless ill-will fomented by post-election resentment, JackB1 rides off into the sunset of boundless hypocrisy...
