Something like that might be reassuring. I haven't read what Obama actually said, so maybe he touched on issues of interest.
It was mostly just broad reassurances...something Clinton was never particularly good at
Mostly a show of force type situation. He took questions that were ranged from Iran to Puppy-gate.
Brando,
It's not the flags themselves that bother me, it's the extra mile that his staff goes to in order to make every appearance as obviously and ham-fistedly staged as possible. Sometimes less is more.
As for invisible incumbants see Clinton, Bill c. 2000. Al Gore managed to run an entire campaign without ever mentioning the man who had been his boss for the previous 8 years...and his approval was outstanding compared to Bush's

Palin's calling the McCain aides "jerks" today, after calling them "bitter" and "small" in quoted remarks yesterday.
On an unrelated note, she's looking a bit more rough, IMO, now that she's gone back to her homeland and lost the benefit of that expensive make over paid for by the GOP.

2. Rough? She looked pretty damn calm, cool, collected to me. Not to mention she is still nice to look at. None of which are bad attributes.
Maybe it's just me...when I said rough, I meant haggard or not as as glamorous as before. Like she aged a good bit over the past 2 months. Again, maybe it's just me.

My guess is that she has aged in the past several months...who wouldn't age after such a grueling process? But she looked fine to me. Hell, it could be just me as well.

She's still thoroughly bone-able.
Take care,

Do you kiss your wife with that mouth????
Indeed.
Then again, I'm the guy who sees a horny divorcee-looking broad in the produce section at a store while out with my wife and kids and, making sure my kids are out of earshot, whisper to my wife while nodding my head: "See that broad over there? Aching for c*ck."
To which my wife always smiles, shakes her head and says, "Come on."
Take care,

All you were supposed to do in Minnesota was color in the circle black, right? If people are too stupid to follow a simple rule like that then they should have their votes shredded.
The New Zealand Election results are in and the centre-right National party and the right-wing ACT party will have 64 of the 122 seats in Parliament. Since NZ has no Senate or President, they'll basically be able to pass any law they want. I'm pleased since I've only ever voted National.
WASHINGTON — President-elect Obama called Nancy Reagan on Friday to apologize for joking that she held seances in the White House.
At a news conference in Chicago, Obama said he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepares to take office in January. Then he smiled and said, "I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances."

I thought it was Jackdog proof here in Minnesota. I was wrong.
If you don't pay taxes, you should not be allowed to vote. Parasites should not have a say in our system. If you are 16, have a job and pay taxes, then you should get to vote. If you are 30, are on welfare, pay no taxes, then you have no business having any say in our system. Representation without taxation has to stop.

Retired people shouldn't be able to vote? Stay at home moms shouldn't be able to vote?

No, they shouldn't... the moms would be represented by their husbands. The retired people would have been represented when they were contributing to the system.
Only exception would be retired military with 10+ years of service, as well as those that retired from public service (teachers, fireman, police). Elected officials would not count.
RobVarak wrote:I didn't even think twice about it when I was watching the press conference live. Thought it was pretty funnny, actually.
It was kind of funny, but it was inappropriate for a President Elect to make a quip like that and I bet he was really pissed off with himself afterwards.

Dude, WTF?
Wholesale disenfranchisement passes beyond the realm of radical and into the neighborhood of dangerous. LOL
The franchise shouldn't be tied to tax paying any more than it should have been tied to land ownership, IQ, gender or race. Those are arbitrary distinctions that deny the right to participation and invididual liberty that are the fundamental building blocks of our Republic and contradict the entirety of civil rights jurisprudence. Other than that, it's a grand idea.
OTOH, I'm sure there are more than a few militiamen that would be happy to entertain your suggestion...

Hey you that works full-time raising four kids. No vote for you! Hubby knows best, baby!
Don't forget other groups that have minimal/no income, including college students, nuns, clergy, the disabled, the unemployed (you unhappy about the recession? Too bad, cuz you don't get a vote!), etc.
