The scene in last week's show with Turner wearing the leopard-skin halter top while sitting on the couch with Britton, who was showing all sorts of cleavage, damn near killed me. Age has not dimmed Turner's glow -- or her rack.

Oh, this is still a great show, too. ;)

Take care,

Is Janine Turner Matt's mother on the show? Either way, I'm digging his mom! Love that southern accent. By the way, the show last night once again was tremendous.

Janine Turner plays the mother of the freshman phenom QB, J.D. McCoy.

One other "Friday Night Lights" fact, probably well known: Derek Jeter is banging Minka Kelly, the actress who plays Lyla Garrity on the show. Riggins' girlfriend.

Ahhh, so that's the hottie who was jogging with the coach's wife. Loved the cleavage bouncing around.

Yes, sir!

Regarding last night's show, it was hard not to have a tear pool at the corner of your eye when Smash got "the call" from A&M, especially if you've watched this show from the start.

Great episode.

I wholeheartedly agree Pk. It was a rather emotional episode. Heck, the show befor this one with the team coming out to practice with Smash was a bit tear jerking as well. Honestly, in every episode there is at least one moment that pulls at your heart strings.

I wonder what Smash's role will be in the rest of the show. He might be written out which would be unfortunate. He's a great actor and I love his character.

I'm excited to see Jason Street is going to be in next week's episode. I thought he was basically gone from the show. I'd love to see him in more scenes.

Yeah I figured Street had moved on but they're creating drama as they go along. It seems odd that Leila and Riggins take up like there's no past history with Street.

So now, Street has to deal with his baby mama moving away? How many punches to the gut can one guy take?

Now Saracen has to deal with his biological mother and grandmother and now losing the QB1 job.

Dillon Panthers might as well be called the Heartbreak Kids

Yeah, it is a bit depressing. Landry is even going through some tough times with Tyra moving on.

I wonder if that one football player who was living with Lyla's dad has been written off. I haven't noticed him on the football field. Also, is Landry not on the team anymore?

Nice article. Thanks Grt. Gonna miss him and his mother. I thought she played that role perfectly. Hopefully we do see him come back for a couple cameo appearances.

I do think they need to perhaps introduce a couple new freshman or sophomore football players in to the series just to keep it fresh. A few more women wouldn't be bad either. Yes, there's JD McCoy, but he really hasn't shown whether or not there's really any depth to his character besides his football talent. I'd like to think there might be some underlying issue between him and his father.

Looks like JD McCoy will be a robo-QB story, on a strict regimen (no fried foods), with no life outside of football, like that guy who was a bust with the Raiders.

Or Claussen at Notre Dame.

Except those guys didn't flame out until well after college.

Is it just me and the wife but did Smash lose a ton of weight from last season...dude looks like a damn skeleton. Looked really apparent in the last scene when he scored that td on the field with the guys and was just standing there smiling. No way in hell that little twig is a D1 college running back. I wouldn't have said that last year when he was bigger.

You're an observant couple, Mr. and Mrs. DB. Damn good point, now that I think back. I never even thought of that when watching, but you're spot on.

Great last episode and I agree...Smash does look real thin.

Glad to see Tyra is going back to the straight look. I hate that curly short hair style they started her with this season. Hope she grows her long hair back, but who really cares about her hair? :)

Why did that band girl have to be a lesbian? She's cute and would have been good for Landry. Poor guy.

Daaaamn, Mrs. Taylor looked good last night!

I don't want to see Jason Street leave the show. What a bummer that would be. He'd be a great mentor for McCoy.

I wonder what the big show changing event is taking place next week?

Anyone know what the ratings are for this show? I can't imagine they're that good considering it's only shown on DTV.

Last night's show seemed like a fill in for the most part. Nothing too engaging or tear jerking.

Can wait for next week!

Didn't Street try to be a coach but kind of drop it?

That would be a natural thing for him to pursue. There was a local high school coach who was wheelchair-bound. Very successful for years.

Yeah, I don't know why he didn't pursue coaching. I guess being an assistant high school football coach doesn't pay very well. It looks like he's going to try his hand at being a sports agent now. I would think you need a business degree and perhaps a law degree as well.

But they all start somewhere.

Maybe to move up to the college level, he needs to have a college degree at some point, to be a graduate assistant and so on.

I also seem to recall he blew off a chance to go to college too. Lila tried to encourage him and he wasn't having any of it.

Forget what happened with the lawsuit by his parents too.

Hmm, maybe that Blu Ray box set of FNL isn't a bad idea.

Yeah, that entire story line of Street as a coach just evaporated. Same with the lawsuit by his parents.

But as I recall, didn't Jason have misgivings about suing Coach Taylor, which caused the entire thing to be dismissed?

I agree with Dan -- Landry's new bass player had that "bookish cute" about her. But Landry and Tyra will end up together again when Tyra finds out that cowboy Cash is lying about that psycho girl and her kid.

Great show, as always! And when doesn't Mrs. T look HOT? :)

Take care,

I don't know if anyone else had this problem but apparently FNL has been airing the past month, month and a half but the Season Pass hasn't been picking it up on the DirecTV DVRs.

Looks like I missed the last 3 or 4 episodes, including one last Wednesday.

I deleted the old one and searched for the show again and it showed new episode due 1/14 and a repeat of the 1/7 episode due to air again on 1/21.

Fortunately, I downloaded the last 4 episodes with their VOD.

Yup...DVR wasn't recording them. But the DirecTV DVR has always been suspect, so we're in the habit of checking it each week to be sure all of our shows are scheduled to record. So we caught it each time. It starts this week on regular TV...so it has to end on DirecTV Wednesday before it debuts Friday.

It's been a pretty sweet season...it's gone back to the FNL roots and stepped away from the sh*t that brought down last season.

Absolutomundo. An excellent season. The sophomore slump is over.

Now we just have to hope there is a "Senior" season. Gotta cross the fingers again.
