This is kind of stuff that is so frustrating. He asked how she got to the math about the troop levels and she never answered the question.

If the press were as thorough with Biden as they are with Palin, there'd already be a front page story on the Washington Post:
"Home Depot Sales Clerk Never Saw Biden"
"Biden Didn't Know Difference Between Wood, Sheet Rock Screws"
"Biden's Do-It-Yourself Claims Questioned By Contractor"
with juicy quotes from jilted sales clerks and the like.
There would also be interviews where they would ask him questions like:
"What is the R rating of the insulation in your attic?"

Thanks for the additional info. I'm still waiting for Jack's defense of Obama as middle class saviour. I guess those $1.9 million houses are merely a dime a dozen in Chicago. I'm sure it has been MANY years since Obama knew what it was like to be middle class or below.

With all those kids, both Palins have to work their arses off just to feed the family.

Total Net Worth is a lot different than 1 year's earnings. So you are saying most middle classers have over $1 Million in Assets?

There are plenty of upper middle class people with more than $1 million in assets, especially if they own multiple properties or land. They may not rake in the bucks with salary, but the value of their property or land, combined with their income and wise personal investments, exceeds $1 million.

Take care,

We are talking about income here Jack. But that was a nice Bill Maher moment for ya. If your such a liberal, why do you care how people worship? Isn't that stereotyping? Honestly if I didn't know better I would have you pegged as an elitist and a very prejudice person.

PS.....You did see clips from Obama's church of 20 years right?

I don't care how people worship, but I care when people want to use their religion for decisions that effect me. Palin, like Bush, believes we are on a mission from God in Iraq. I never said ALL religious people were evil. THAT would be stereotyping. I really don't care for your continuing comments suggesting that I am somehow a prejudiced person. I feel you are way off base with that and would appreciate if very much if you would cool it. All I said was I "couldn't relate" to that scene at the Church..that's all. Being accused of something like that bothers me more that you will know and couldn't be further from the truth. I do understand your sensitivity to the issue, but you are barking up the wrong tree my friend.

About Reverend Wright, that subject was beaten to death already, but for the record, I was very disillusioned with Obama when that came up, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt of that one. He credits Wright for getting him closer to Jesus and only seems to extract the good from that Church. Make no mistake....that stuff bothered me a lot, but not enough to make me vote for McCain.

What am a wrong about? If you consider Palin middle class, then you would have to also lump Obama in that same category. McCain on the other hand, is in a whole different ballpark. He couldn't even remember how many homes he owned. I don't have that problem :)

True, but you were talking about people relating to her because of her being "middle class", like them. Didn't we just elect some "regular guy who we could relate to" to the White House? We all see how that worked out ;)

Personally, I want someone I look up to. Not someone I feel I am equal with.

In a related story Bush's address to the nation over the economy, was spoken like a english second language immigrant. :D

Here's a purlely academic question... would Obama have come out stronger against Wright, not be so forthcoming with his religious positions, if there wasn't so much pressure by some, to be "religious" not "spiritual"?

He named his book after a sermon and spoke at length about religion throughout his career. I think that he was forthcoming about his religious beliefs and background long before there was any possible pressure to do so.

---

The NY Times found space in their high-profile Saturday edition to run a piece on the Obama-Ayers relationship. It is not without certain issues.

Here is the article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/04/us/po ... =1&_r=2&hp

And some critiques of the article:

http://globallabor.blogspot.com/2008/09 ... -bill.html

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/? ... RiZmFkNWE=

http://justoneminute.typepad.com/main/2 ... and-a.html

http://vodkapundit.com/?p=10339

And consider this closing paragraph from Stephen Green my response in advance to those crying, "guilt by association!"
I don’t know of anyone with a substantive worry that deep in his heart, Obama wants to blow up the Pentagon or even just stick it to the man, baby. Instead, the worry is that Obama has had some kind of relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, which even Shane must admit Obama has downplayed. And that Obama has promised, and continues to promise, to meet with would-be genocidal killers like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad “without preconditions.” And that Obama has the most liberal voting record in the Senate.

In short, we question his values and his honesty and his judgement — especially his judgement.

And pieces like today’s New York Times whitewash do nothing to help put those questions aside.

Please post a direct quote from both of them saying the war in Iraq is a mission from God. Not this media driven bullshit.
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Then please stop making posts that read that way. I am not the only one that notices this man. Like I said, I know better, but at times you sound like you have issues with Christians.

But a lot of people on this forum can relate. I know I do. It comes across as Christan bashing and I'll always pull someones card for that.

I understand, but your walking a fine line here. It comes across like your saying it's OK for Obama to be closer to Jesus but Palin and Bush are nuts?

Trust me man,I like you very much. I just don't get/understand you sometimes. I am absolutely sure you can say the same about me.

My point is simply this, is our country forcing politicians to be religious or pseudo religious because our country made this huge push towards expecting this in the last 20 years. Remember the good ol days when people feared someone would be controlled by the pope. Let's bring those back.

Wirght on the left, is equal to some of the fundamentalists on the right. Both are equally hyprocritical.

While I concede, and Obama even verifies, that Wright influenced his beleives, I don't get the sense that all of Wright's beliefs are firmly ingrained in Obama. I also beleive that Obama is his own man and not reciting everything verbatim. I could be wrong and others might see it differently. When I hear him talk I don't get the religious willies as I do with other politicians. Mostly because Wright his him own man. Clearly any logical person has to seperate Wright and Obama on some level.

This, my friends is the definition of a hypocryte.

So you say you can't relate to the Plain clip. Maybe if he were to have thrown in a "GD America" you would have felt more in tune? Seriously Jack, you post these things like they are wrong, but you give Obama the benefit of the doubt on the exact same things.

Please give me some examples of where Palin has stated she will use her religion to make government decisions. You state Obama only extracted the good from the church, and yet you fail to give Palin that same benefit. Why?

You post these things because you are biased towards Obama. Just admit it and quit bringing thiese things up like you are some impartial viewer.
