Leebo,if you scrap the next gen 09 try the PS2 version of the game. It's fantastic. Sliders work and I would say it's the better than 04.
You can get complete rosters for 06,07,and 08 versions that have been converted for 09 at OS. The same fellow also converted the historic rosters from 07 to work with 09 as well.

Again my point is that i'm in the group who doesn't follow the game closely so I couldn't tell you if any of the teams are wearing the correct uniforms. I'll admit I fall into the casual fan group.

For me as a casual fan the kicking game is far too easy and if the sliders did work as they should then I could tune the game to my liking. And as far as rosters go I just use fake names so at least I don't have to hear players being called by their numbers.

Why are people feeling the need to put quotation marks around "certain" words in this thread?

Agreed and I hate it when people do that too. I have removed the post just to be sure that I got them all.

I know their are some who want the ultimate realistic experience but i'm in the group who just wants to have fun. NCAA '09 does that very well.
Agreed.. something is different this year and I like it.

While I don't believe realism hurts a game. In fact few games ever have too much realism.

I think the key for EA games is balance. It always seems there games are unbalanced due to key design decisions.

I'm having a good time with NCAA but I'm also not using a powerhouse team, so maybe I don't see all the issues unless I played as OSU, Mich, or USC.

Bingo...For example...In My Michigan St. dynasty I didnt see the problems with the kicking game. Only able to break one the entire season.

With Oklahoma however If I dont fair catch em Im off to the races every other punt.

I haven't ran a punt or a kickoff back yet, but the teams I've played NEVER kick it to Macklin. When they did last game, I did run one back 45 yards to around their 20 yard line.

On KRs, I don't zig-zag return. I have a 91 spd HB that is my return man at Boston College. As long as I don't zig zag I don't break many. If I zig-zag, I could return a lot more.

The only things I've seen that really get on my nerves are the square-in routes seem to be unstoppable for the CPU, and the CPU uses them all the time. I haven't found a defense to stop them. Anyone know how?

Apologies for the question but I don't use my PS3 very often...if I've downloaded a roster file, and presuming I use a memory stick, how do i get this roster file into the game ?

thanks in advance

No one has any idea. The passing game is somewhat broken. You aren't going to completely shutdown the CPU in having a game where it goes 15-45.

This works for me everytime.

1) Before anything else plug your flash drive, mp3 player, etc. into the computer.
2) Next click on the download rosters link from whomevers roster you want.
3) Instead of saving it anywhere JUST press “OPEN” not “SAVE”.
4) Once you do this a folder named "----Rosters" should pop up with the “PS3″ folder inside.
5) Then what you need to do is go under file and press “EXTRACT ALL…”.
6) Now a Wizard should pop up. Click next once and before clicking again click the browse button and find your USB device that you will be transfering your rosters from your PC to your PS3 with.
7) Once it's extracted onto your device, plug it into your PS3 and In the main PS3 menu, scroll right to “Game, move up to “Saved Data Utilty” and then “USB Device”.
8)Locate the New Rosters file and press triangle to copy it over to your PS3’s hard drive.

I've used short zones, spread out the DB's; I've blitzed, with only occasional success. It's rare that I break up a pass play by the CPU-they never throw the long ball, just those damned square ins. My guys are never in a position to knock the ball away in those instances, no matter what I do. It's pretty darn annoying. Too bad, too, as I'm having a blast with this version of the game otherwise...

Its not so much what defense you call(though mixing it up seems to help a little)but the ratings of your defenders that matters.

I dont see it as broken as much as I see it as pre destined.

No it's not fake.

My favorite line in those videos. "EA completely ignoring the molecular structure and graphical representation of my linemen folks. this is bad folks."

"I should make a game on a hetchasketch and call it football and have EA market it and all the people, sheeple would buy it."

I know man. He was so damn serious about it. I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. That guy needs his own show,or a job.

This isn't NCAA 09 related, but funny as hell.

Wow. I just went with the PS2 version because of the overhead camera and working sliders. I had no idea their was these kinds of problems. The defense looks like a school of fish.

I'm thinking about picking up the PS2 version myself. Jack, any problems that you're seeing with it?

That guy cracked me up. He was so irritated but so hilarious in the way he was complaining.

The NCAA Tecmo Bowl video is just embarassing. Nice pursuit angles.
