It's funny watching Colin's reaction to that awesome save, like yeah let's see you try that.

Lorenzo is on his way to being a force in MotoGP and is giving Rossi fits. Nice move Valentino replacing Edwards for Lorenzo. Sometimes you get what you ask for.

I didn't realize Lorenzo and Pedrosa were such bitter rivals until yesterday. I knew they both were Spaniards who battled in 125's and 250's, but apparently the only way they would shake hands on the podium yesterday was after Spanish King Juan Carlos I urged them to do so while presenting their trophies.

Another Rossi-Biaggi rivalry in the making? Let's hope so!

This year I've decided to use my PVR to full effect and not only tape the F1 races, but Indy Car as well.

The race from Miami was pretty good, for the first one of the year, and with the "rookies" from CART in the mix.

I have to say i cringed when I saw Kannan and Dixon(?) battling side by side, 6 inches apart, at over 200 mph at one point. Kannan's sidepod was sporting a nice shiner after that!

That's one thing I like of Indy Cars over F1, the fact there is a lot more "racing" in the American sense of the word.......

David Coulthard will become part team owner of the F1 Toro Rosso team and will get a name change to Coulthard Power Racing (CPR). Congrats to him as I always thought he is a good bloak. I wish him well.

I must say this Mosley sex scandal is picking up steam big time. Mosley is now calling for a FIA meeting to discuss the matter.

It's somewhat amusing watching Mosley try and defend himself. I have no doubt Dennis is privately cheering his ouster.

Hardly. Max is in deep sh*t. The Crown Prince of Bahrain told him not to come to his country for the GP this weekend, and Mercedes and BMW issued strongly worded statements condemning Mosley. Honda also issued a statement of concern.

Mosley issued an apology, not a denial. He also is considering a suit against the News of the World for invasion of privacy, not libel or slander. The only thing he has mildly denied are the Nazi theme accusations.

Both of those indicate to me that Max did participate in the orgy. Otherwise he would have denied participating in it and would have sued for libel or slander instead of invasion of privacy.

If Bernie begins to distance himself from Max, Mosley is toast. But I read a story today in which it's nearly impossible for FIA members to remove Mosley as president, so he'll need to capitulate under intense pressure. Max is a vain, shrewd man, so it's going to take a lot for him to buckle.

But the screws are tightening. Times of London F1 correspondent Ed Gorman reported today in his blog that no one is talking about racing at all in the paddock at Bahrain. Every syllable is about Mosley's orgy.

Not a good situation for Max, or the sport and its teams and commercial partners.

As Adrian Chiles says in PK's link, does it or does it not make you sick?

I see the GPWC's leading lights have come out and had a go at Max. I'm only a simple lad, but all those pictures and video of him suggested that he had an involvement in the orgy, and it's really saying something if the evidence is conclusive enough that even Max doesn't attempt to deny it.

If you can't get off without having to be inspected for lice I'd suggest you have greater problems than those posed by being president of the FIA, but if that's what he's into then that, as far as I'm concerned, is a matter for he and his wife to sort out. However, having that in the public domain, especially given that Max isn't an individual for whom there's a huge amount of goodwill at the best of times, surely undermines his credibility far enough to make his position untenable?

Congrats to a dominant win to Felipe, while Kimi takes the Championship lead early in the season. What the hell happen to Lewis on Sunday?

He runs into the back of Alonso and that was his race.

The drive of the day went to Jarno Trulli with a 6th spot for Toyota, they must be pleased. BMW looks to me like they are at least equal with McLaren for pace with both cars finishing behind the Ferrari's. BMW also is leading the constructors points so good for them.

Good to see it's a three horse race for the Championship. Kubica is quickly joining the top tier of drivers with his solid weekend. Also Mario Theissen rubbished rumors that they are looking at Alonso for 2009 to join the top tier of teams saying he's very pleased with his drivers and especially Robert Kubica.

I can't imagine they would be pleased. I don't think there is any team in F1 history that has spent more money with less results than Toyota, and I am factoring in inflation, changes in the sports financial structure, advertising, etc. Sure Honda has also spent a lot of money recently, but Honda at least has the glory days to look back on.

True but considering last year they were running on average 14th - 18th. That's a nice improvement. They had a better day than both Honda and Renault.

Rod, I suppose pleased is a relative thing for Toyota. They finished behind two Ferraris, two BMWs and a McLaren. Remembering that on another day there'd be another McLaren there too, and that they aren't streets ahead of Red Bull and Williams, it's a pretty poor return on their investment, and if they're genuinely pleased with that then they should consider taking up cliff diving instead. It's a step compared to last season, yes, but it's worse than they were three years ago.

Something very odd is happening to Jarno Trulli. There was a point in today's race when some or other rival - Rosberg, I think it was - had a go up the inside into turn one and Jarno didn't jump immediately out of the way and let him through. Stick that alongside his run in Malaysia and it begins to look as though he's really started racing people. Fisichella was again impressive, which is just as well for Force India since his team mate is busy undoing the good work of the latter part of 2007.

Lewis screwed up more than once today, which might at least remind certain observers that he's human after all. To me, the most interesting aspect of his collision with Alonso isn't anything to do with their driving (though from onboard you do wonder how on Earth Lewis didn't realise what was about to happen) but that, since Renault have apparently released data showing Alonso was flat to the boards when it happened, the R28 is an absolute dog on corner exit. The closing speed was ridiculous for two cars both at full throttle.

Yeah what the hell has happened to Adrian Sutil? He showed such promise last year and was the talk of the F1 paddock as the next up and comer especially with his stellar performance at Spa. This year he's driving like crap.

Renault rubbished any thoughts of a brake check or lifting of the throttle by Alonso. Lewis just had a bad day but the kid is good and should bounce back next race.

Ferrari was just too damn dominate this week and Massa obviously loves that desert track.

I know, and that's my point - what they're saying instead, effectively, is, "Fernando didn't lift, there was no brake check. What that means is that our car lacks traction and our engine doesn't pull out of the corners anywhere near as well as that Mercedes does," which must surely have set the alarm bells ringing.
