Kansas will probably out of the tournament before meeting UNLV based on Bill Self's coaching record in the NCAA's. Yes I'm an Illinois fan :D

Well then, that I understand. I work with a couple Illni fans, and I hear the same crap from them as well.

Admittedly, Bill is one hell of a recruiter. I have disagreed with many of his in game decisions, but I do think he's gotten much better. He's great at calling plays coming out of a time out. I get upset when he decides not to change up his defense when it's apparent there needs to be a change.

Either way, I love the guy and I do think there is too much pressure put on a head coach who fails to reach the Final Four. However, if there is ever a year for KU to get to the FF, this is it. I haven't seen this much talent, athleticism, and depth from KU team in a long long time.

Well those were Self's players the Illini made it to the championship game with, so of course I give him credit. I'm just bitter that he used Illinois as a stepping stool.

Sh*t. Bill Simmons has UCLA and Tennessee in the final too. I may as well rip my bracket up now. He's a curse.

That's the kiss of death. I was leaning toward UCLA winning but now have to rethink it. There is no way he can be right about that, it's a fundamental law of the universe.

Riiiiiiiight. That's what I thought in 1997 when they only lost 2 games all year. Arizona comes out of nowhwere and beats them.

Trust me. I've been a nervous wreck this whole week. Heck, Portland States scares me!

Wow...I bet a lot of folks got a big scare last night with the Duke game.
They really should have lost and are very lucky. I am a little worried now, since I picked them to make it to the final 4. I hope they pull it together against Purdue.

I got every pick so far right in this 5 dollar thing we got going around here.

Anyway, here is my final four:
UNC
Georgetown
UCLA
Stanford

With UNC taking out UCLA in the title game!

Oh yea and you forgot the speedy matchup in UNC/UCLA between Ty Lawson (assuming he gets back to full speed by then) and Darren Collison!

Huge win for my alma mater Davidson today, beating Gonzaga 82-76!

-This is Davidson's first tournament win since 1969.
-Sophomore Stephen Curry, considered by some to be the best shooter in the nation, scored 40 points, with 30 coming in the second half. He was 8-10 on 3s.
-Davidson didn't have a lead until the final 10 minutes of the game, and trailed by as many as 11 in the second half.

Go Davidson!

Amazing bucket by Western Kentucky to win it. Three guys in his face and near the sideline and he still drains it.

I'm very surprised Clemson fell to Villanova. They were up 18 at one point!

Getting very nervous about the KU/UNLV game.....ugh....

There's nothing in the world of sport that's as exciting as March Madness. (See Western Kentucky v Drake).

Fantastic game.

The great thing about the NCAA tournament is that the single elimination format really masks how bad the basketball is for the most part. Even the close games with exciting finishes usually have poor play and shooting (for instance Drake at 37% and even thought it wasn't in a close game WTF is up with Notre Dame shooting 25%?), but that gets lost in the do or die nature. Don't get me wrong. I'll be glued to my seat in about 10 minutes, but except for the tournament I really can't watch college basketball unless I have a rooting interest in a team.

That's great! Especially on a night when half the teams struggled to get to 40% and 3 couldn't even hit a third of their shots. Kansas has a great chance to win the tournament if they keep shooting well. It's unlikely they will matchup against another team in the NCAA that can shoot until the Final 4 considering that only a handful of all the 48 games played so far have featured two teams shooting at least 45%. Usually it's a team shooting 35%-38% losing to a team shooting 45%.
