I'm not sure if this will be a substantial upgrade from my current Sony 5.1 setup? I think the Logitech 550 might be a better choice for me and my budget (under $300).vader29 wrote:Yeah it's the one made for the 360, the receiver attaches to the subwoofer separately and all the connections plug into the subwoofer, it has 2 optical inputs, 1 coax optical audio input and a basic red and white audio input.
What's your 360 hooked up to for sound?

Klipsch makes some nice products, but this set does not have a Dolby Digital decoder like the 5500's and is not THX certified either.JackB1 wrote:anyone know anything about this system?

Divot - I am really leaning towards the Logitech 5500s. They and the Pioneer HTS-GS1 seem to be the only logical choices for under $300 for console and PC sound. All the reviews for it on Amazon.com are favorable for the Logitech. I am now prowling on Ebay for a good deal. I have seen it as low as $250.

this thread might not be over though...you know me

Edit: With $40 shipping, it actually comes to $300 (before rebate), so I went to Buy.com and got it for $265 w/ free shipping. I hate rebates!!! But the good news is I GOT IT. Unfortunately I now have to wait like 10 business days for the cheapo free shipping (I think it comes on the back of a camel or something

Yeah, I use Buy.com alot. For stuff that's in stock, it's usually pretty quick (UPS ground w/ the free shipping) but stuff that's low stock or a really good deal that sells out quickly, it can take several weeks.JackB1 wrote:

I waited 4 weeks for a Zune speaker dock (granted, it was only $40 when retail was like $100+, so it was worth the wait), and I waited 2 months for a HD DVD copy of Digital Video Essentials (it was only $14.99 though and on backorder forever).
GL with the new speakers.

Unfortunately, I have to sell this Logitech system. Please check the "FOR SALE" thread for more info. Something else more important came up and I need the money for that instead.jondiehl wrote: Yeah, I use Buy.com alot.
