I sure hope that video was on pro or something. The amount of space and time the user had with the puck was a little too much. Just from the videos there was no mid-ice play. And you could go end-to-end with the puck.

Like I said, I hope that vid was on easy.

Nope.
I'd expect 2k8 on the 11th, and 08 on the 12th.

Those are the ship dates. Gamestop at Mid Rivers mall told me they might have NHL 08 in Tuesday evening...might is the keyword there.

I thought the general practice was for companies to ship games early and then have them at the stores for release day?

Oh well, Wednesday is fine.

I HOPE the game is more challenging than the demo.
You're quoting a guy from 2khockey.net as a source that NHL 08 is no good? That's like asking a Democrat for comment on a new Republican initiative.

Come on, TRI: We're smarter than that.

Take care,

There are people there who do like NHL 07. I liked NHL 07 and did not find it too easy. When someone posts something that is so drastically different from my own experience I take notice. In NHL 07 the sliders worked well and if they work as well in NHL 08 there should not be problems.

I'm one of those who did not find NHL 07 too easy and that's with the so called garbage AI. I traded it in, in hopes that NHL 08 will be much better than NHL 07.

I don't know...seems to still be lacking aggression when it's 5 on 5 play in either zone. It still seems like 5 on 5 is like a powerplay.

It is not that bad. At least they try to defend the slot.

I'll reserve judgement for actually playing the game myself. I do wonder if he has the penalties turned off?

Oh i'm still buying...i'll be playing this one all night on wednesday. I survived NHL 06 and i'm sure the AI will be much better on this one than it was in 06.

I hope the defensive AI isn't as brain-dead in the real game as they are in that video that Sudz posted. Talk about stoned statues -- no wonder every skill move looks good.

Skating and stick-handling animations are VERY smooth, though.

Take care,
PK
