David Littman: Yes. Co-op play is a big part of our online feature set this year. You can play up to 4 on 4 on the 360, and up to 6 on 6 on PS3. Another cool feature for 08 is online team play. You can play with and against up to 5 other people on 6 different consoles anywhere in the world. You can play as the goalie from the goalie cam mode during online team play. In both modes, you can lock to a position or just play normal. We also have shootout mode online with stat tracking. You can play as the shooters and the goalie.

This is news to me.

So we can have some old NHL Rivals action with 3 on 3? That's ridiculous.

Yeah...I have an interest in the game, but again...news to me. I haven't kept up with 13 pages and I'm damn sure not going to go back and read several hundred replies to see if it was mentioned.

Finally a game that shows the play. I know it's not a big thing but for someone that knows nothing about plays in hockey the color coding on the ice will be a big help.

i saw some great animation for the 1st time last night.

i took heatley down the wing and cut hard to the net near the goal line...he leaned into the defender, put out one arm and only had one arm on the stick..and went toward the net.

i ran out of room and couldn't cut in front of the net....but it was a great move and really cool they figured out how to get it in the game.

Sounds like a T. Bertuzzi move in his better days.

Moo over at 2khockey.net is not happy with NHL 08 demo. He finds the game way too easy and destroys the CPU everytime. He skates up the ice and finds the sweet spot to shoot the money goal and then checks the CPU skates back up the ice to rinse and repeat.

I HOPE the game is more challenging than the demo.

The demo is on Pro difficulty. That would be like beating up a 7-year-old.

isn't 2k hockey the fan site of 2k sports?

and i have not found that to be the case with this game...and "money" goal?

highly doubtful.

You're quoting a guy from 2khockey.net as a source that NHL 08 is no good? That's like asking a Democrat for comment on a new Republican initiative.

Come on, TRI: We're smarter than that.

Take care,

While there are a lot of guys at 2khockey.net who can remain unbiased regarding both games, I can barely even remember that guy and I've been posting there for years. Thus, his opinion isn't highly regarded by anybody there, and most certainly here.
