OT: Vick Indicted
Moderators: Bill_Abner, ScoopBrady
I just heard on ESPN that Vick and two others hanged several dogs in the woods behind Vick's house, but some of the dogs didn't die. So Vick and his cohorts held the dogs' heads down in five gallon buckets of water to finish them off.
If there is any justice Vick will be sodomized to death in prison.

And to think there are still morons who wonder if Ron Mexico will return to the NFL next season ...

They said Vick had a deadline of today to decide if he was taking a plea or not. It looks like he didn't, so I guess he's going to trial. This case surely looks unwinnable for Vick at this point. I dont know what he is thinking? Both of the other guys today said that Vick took part in the killing of at least 8 dogs and would testify against him. He was also supposidly waiting for the NFL to tell him if his career would be saved if he took a plea bargain. If I was Goodall, I would tell him that I'll decide when I'm good and ready what his future is with the NFL. Goodall owes him nothing. I hope Vick truly gets what he deserves. I kknow that whatever it is, it won't be enough.

A legal analyst at ESPN.com wrote that a Vick plea may have been contingent on him cutting a deal with the NFL that would allow his return to the league in the future, if there were any takers. In other words, Ron Mexico would plea if Goodell agreed not to ban him for life.
If that's the case, then it looks like Goodell told Vick to get f*cked. Good for The Commish.
Vick deserves no deal from the league. It's his privilege to play in the NFL, not his divine right.

Yeah, why would the nfl care to leave a 'hole' open for vick to return? He needs the NFL waaaay more than the nfl needs him. Say hello CFL!pk500 wrote:Jack:

If I was Goodell, I would tell Vick he should have thought about the NFL while he was drowning dogs. The NFL owes him no guarantees of anything and should flat out say so. Can you imagine me going into my boss and asking for my job to be guaranteed if I plead guilty to a haneous felony charge? Goodell should say he's not deciding anything until all the facts are in and stick to his guns.pk500 wrote:Jack:

He's never going to play another down in the NFL -- but that should come as no surprise.
Goodell will hand down a multi-year ban that will effectively end Vick's career. Once the ban lapses, no GM will want to touch that PR nightmare. What need could a slower, rustier version of himself possibly fill, anyway? He'd have to watch the game from the bench (and get pelted with dog sh*t).

Could the CFL afford him? I'm sure Ron will still have a very inflated opinion of his worth once he leaves the klink.greggsand wrote:Hello CFL!cootdog wrote:He's never going to play another down in the NFL -- but that should come as no surprise.

Second, CFL GM's apparently were upset by the signing of Ricky Williams because he was a convict, according to ESPN.com. What would they think of Vick, especially considering being the mastermind behind a dog fighting ring is just a bit more of a PR disaster than getting caught with weed?
Ron Mexico could sure tear up the Arena League, though!

Nothing will happen (most likely). Vick will get, at least, a one year NFL suspension (some think it could be 2). He won't even begin to serve his suspension until AFTER he completes his sentence. So, it could be 3 years before he can even walk into a training camp. By then, he won't look too attractive. He would have to go elsewhere (CFL, Arena, WWE) if he wants any kind of paycheck upon leaving prison.Rodster wrote:I can't wait for the first or second desperate NFL owner to go after Vick once he gets out of jail. I see it happening as sad as it sounds.

So ends the career of the most overrated player in the NFL.
Why is Matt Millen still around?...
